  1. All I want for Christmas is 4-5 Defensive lineman from the Portal that are big and can get pressure on the quarterback. That's all.
  2. And then there is this aspect as well!!
  3. Trasfer Portal numbers by year: 2018-2019: 1,729 entered, 878 transferred (51%) 2019-2020: 1625 entered, 901 transferrred (53%) 2020-2021: 2,654 entered, 1,452 transferred (55%) 2021-2022: 3,085 entered, 866 transferred (28%) Looking at the numbers (especially last year) I am not sure how students take the risk to try to sign on with another school when there a a 50/50 chance they won't sign on with anyone!!
  4. This years team is not good. Might be one of the most dissapointing team since 2001-2002 season. I take a heartbreaking loss in the first round of the NCAA's at this point!! Better than a NCHC quarterfinal sweep on the road!!
  5. Get rid of Nodaks. Not our nickname. And now the University is not even benefiting from the merchandise. The coaches daughter is. Shady as hell. F$&k Nodaks. We are the Fighting Hawks. Support the university. Support the Fighting Hawks. (End rant)
  6. It sells. That's why they have it in stores. That is why you keep seeing new merchandise. If it didn't, the section would be smaller. I guy Fighting HAwks gear with the logo on it. I: know many people that do. I've seen many people that do. If you choose to ignore that, I can't help you.
  7. Nodak is a fun way to refer to the University of North Dakota, or anyone really that is from or lives in North Dakota. But it is not our nickname. If it ws as popular as people think, people would have voted for it when the nickname voting took place. It was the 3rd best name out of a group of 5 not so great options. Istead of perpetuating the 3rd place nickmname, how bout promiting the current name on jerseys.
  8. When predicting the 2022 season, how many of us on here had UND going 9-2 and being a seeded team? How many had UND going 4-7 and missing the playoffs by a wide margin? I think many of us had UND in the 6-8 win range and saying that we needed at least 7 wins to make the playoffs. Well that's exactly what they did. Now that doesn't mean that our expectations should be higher than that. Winning the MCFC and being a seeded team in the playoffs which sets us up for a run at a National Championship should be the goal every year. Did this team fall short of that? Yes. But this team did finish 7-4 and made it into the playoffs. That should be the low bar every year, but we still achieved that. Need to surpass that going forward. Anything short of winning a National Title can be looked at as a failed season. Bu, t a 3rd place finish in the Valley with a playoff berth should be considered a success.
  9. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/records-show-unds-bid-to-host-fcs-playoff-game-far-exceeded-weber-states Records show UND's bid to host FCS playoff game far exceeded Weber State's Weber bid - $41,683.50 UND bid - $127,500
  10. Rushing yards given up per game: Nebraska - 244 UNI - 115 SIU - 148 YSU - 178 SDSU - 95 ACU - 122 INST - 126 USD - 97 NDSU - 363 Weber - 330 We gave up over 200 yards rushing 3 times. Nebraska, NDSU, Weber. Is it an issue? Sure. But it's not like we are giving up huge amounts on the ground every game. Yes, we gave up a bunch the last two weeks and to very good teams. Giving up 300+ rushing yards 2 weeks in a row is alarming. ut it was definitely not the trend all season. Not saying we can't improve, but not like we were awful at stopping the run all year.
  11. Gotta applaud the boys for never giving up. Like most of us here. Down 24-0 on the road, some teams might have given up. But these guys battled back. Obviously not the result we wanted, but man these boys deserve a lot of credit for staying in the game still trying to win till the final horn.
  12. Never thought we would be in this position. Let’s do this!!
  13. Should a flag have been thrown? Maybe not. But once it was thrown, it should have remained a penalty. Unless this play was reviewed. Can't remember. There were like 30 that day!
  14. Angle it to the sidelines every time. If it goes out of bound...perfectly fine. Ball is placed at the 35. Only 10 yards better than a touchback/fair catch. Sure beats a return down to our own 15!!
  15. Can someone go back and tell me how many screen passes UND attempted last weekend against the Bison?> I fell it was lower than usual. Need to get back to that type of game where Tommy dumps it off and lets our playmakers go make a play.
  16. FCS playoff committee chair Jermaine Truax explains why Montana Grizzlies made the field https://406mtsports.com/college/big-sky-conference/university-of-montana/fcs-playoff-committee-chair-jermaine-truax-explains-why-montana-grizzlies-made-the-field/article_648e48aa-69ee-11ed-a05a-5b8c74acc4e0.html So let me get this straight. Here are the reasons Montana made it into the playoff field: - "Quality loses" against the best teams in the Big Sky - Loses were when their QB was out, so....MAYBE they would have won - "Success" against MVFC teams (even though those teams finished 9th and 10th in the conference standings" - "Success" against a Southland team that finished the season 4-7 - "Student athlete experience" - The finanacial bid wasn't a factor. Got it. Makes perfect sense. Well deserved Montana!!
  17. Silver lining....This has provided a nice distraction from arguing about the game result Saturday to arguing about the playoff committee decisions!!
  18. Remember, against Montana St, Weber had 4 punts that were snapped over the head of the punter and all resulted in a safety. This is defintiely one aspect of the game UND has the edge in considering all our punt and kick blocks this year.
  19. Disagree. Committe members aren't watching tape of national anthems of games. Come on. And, how many people say "Sioux" at the end of the anthem at football games? The 20 students in their hockey jerseys?!
  20. When you really break it down, it's better to be on the road in the playoffs than sitting at home not playing at all.
  21. You guys are all "Selection Deniers"
  22. SEMO went 9-2 and won thier conference. They have to go on the road against a 7-4 Montana team that finished 6th in their conference. So in that matchup, they went with the highest bid not game performance. So why use one citeria in one scenario, and a differenct criteria in the other?! That's the fustrating part.
  23. The Selection Committee basically awarded Weber the 9 seed and gave them a home playoff game.
