As enticing as the MVC is for NDSU, they would be foolish to switch conferences. UND left the Big Sky not only because of the current cuts, but because the long term costs of playing in the conference year in and year out were just too great. Same can be said about NDSU. Moving to the MVC would increase travel costs, force NDSU to increase the salaries of their non football sports coaches to complete with other MVC schools, and they would lose money at the gate without having traditional rivalries with UND, SDSU, and USD. If money was no option, a move to the MVS is a no brainer if they were invited. But unfortunately money rules all in college athletics and NDSU can't afford the move. Plain and simple.

They Lammy's only know how to invest in things emotionally. Numbers don't mean a whole lot to them!

I wouldn't us the word quit. More like accepting reality and moving on. Either way I hope players see this is the smarter more practical thing they should be doing instead of making t shirts with hashtag slogans on them.

Go look at the rosters over the 15 years of the womens hockey program at UND. Their have been 11 players that have played for the team that were from North Dakota. By comparison, there have been 12 players from Europe. Many more from Canada as well as the rest of the United States. The Lammys and the rest of the hashtag activists can claim that Kennedy, Faison, UND, etc are killing the dreams of young North Dakota girls that want to play hockey for UND. But in reality, UND womens hockey coaches have been doing that for 15 years!!

Only way UND moves to the BTHC (if they get an invite) is if is worth if for them financially. B1G would absolutely have to pay the NCHC exit fee. They would also have to get at least a percentage of B1G Network revenue. Demanding a "you can't kick us out" clause as Sic has mentioned probably needs to be in there as well. As far as instability goes, ?I don't think it would be as big of shakeup as people would say. Arizona St would be a likely replacement in the NCHC. I realize their arena situation isn't ideal, but adding them would cause the least amount of shakeup as well as adding another western school for the Colorado schools.

I am going to guess no. Want to wait even longer for a response? Ask them what their alternative plan that UND should have done to cut the amount of money they did while affecting the least amount of student athletes. (crickets).

OK, so sure there is a change. Should have worded is "Not every girls actually gets to play on a college team."

Sooooooo sick of hearing "Where is my little girl going to play hockey now" argument. First of all, not every aspiring girl whoplays hockey when they are 6 years old get the chance to play hockey in college. Second of all there are 86 other Universities in the US that sponsor womens college hockey at the D1 or D# level. People are acting like shutting down one program that game opportunity for 25 girls every year to play hockey that there is no opportunities for girls to play hockey or any other sport.

They released the number for the endowment. Maybe instead of spreading rumors about sexist comments made by the President, they should start fundraising. And real fundraising and not hashtag campaigns.

I would guess the jerseys are going to be similar to the mens basketball jerseys with the new script and the number in the middle like before. The number may be a little smaller. (Sidenote: anyone in favor of an alternate gray hockey jersey?!!)

Reading all these letters to the editor, Facebook comments, and the Lammy twins you would think that UND came out of nowhere and cut the womens hockey program, did so because they are discriminating against women, officially informed the team via twitter because they have no respect for them, all the while the admisistration is making sexist comments about the team and that little girls don't deserve to play hockey let alone any sport. It is a shame there is so many misinformed people out there.

Hockey is struggling at the college level for attendance in the "State of Hockey". Even at the biggest University in the state! How do you think schools like Iowa and Nebraska think it will do at their schools?!!

I really feel like the TE position has been underutilized at UND. Seems like that Studsrud could save himself from breaking the pocket and being hit by checking down to the TE's more. I like the core of TE's we got. Good size and all seem pretty athletic. Definitely a position I hope Rudolph starts to use more.
