The 3 headed monster of Jahanneson, Oliveira, and Santiago is going to be really fun watch. If the running game clicks like most think it will, it is really going to open things up for Studsrud and make things a lot easier for him. In the world of high flying passing offenses in the Big Sky, I like our pound the rock style to wear out opposing defenses every game. Our offense definitely struggled out of the gate last year. Hopefully this year they can hit the ground running (pun intended )

UND leads the series 61-29-5, and we have won 22 of the last 26 games played. Sitting Bull is has pretty much has resided in Grand Forks for most of the rivalry. Wait, isn't one of the main factors of a good rivalry that both teams go back in forth in winning the game? Otherwise it is just a yearly, one sided beatdown....like UND has been doing to the Yotes for decades!! Wouldn't mind seeing a new trophy starting in 2020 when we start playing conference games. That waqy the new trophy can take up permanant residence in Grand Forks much like the Sitting Bull trophy did for years and years and years!! HA!! (All smack talk aside, I am excited that UND will soon be back in the same conference with USD and the other Dakota schools).

Not as obnoxious as he previous articles. It's a good article laying out the history of UND Womens hockey. It's an article the team deserved to have written. But hopefully the last we have to hear about the story.

Not surprised if that is what is going on. I'm sure Faison had a contract sitting on his desk for Jones to sign months ago. No doubt they are going back and forth in the negotiations. Jones' last contract was for $100,000 a year. does he deserve more? Absolutley. Does he deserve $250,000? Probably not. A realistic number for Jones should be around $180,000 with incentives for conference championships, wins in a season, and NCAA tournament bids.

So the Big Sky is going to find 6 schools that can afford to jump up to FBS? Good luck!! Only schools that have a remote chance of being able to do it are Idaho (because they have done it before) and Montana. No other school is even close to baing able to afford it.

Is there anyone that actually thinks that Jones will not get a contract extension? Does Drick (or any other current MBB player at UND) actually think that Jones will not be the coach next year? I don't think this played any factor into his decision.

Looking on UND's website, it lists his major as 'General Studies'. So I am not sure what area of study he is looking to get a graduate degree in. For me it looks like the main reason he is trasnfering is he is using the grad transfer rule to play basketball somewhere else. His choice. Maybe he wants to play closer to home. Whatever the reason is, he has to deal with it. Whether good or bad for him.

I am wondering if the delay in signing a new contract has less to do with Faison being out and more to do with Jones trying to negotiate a better deal. With the budget cuts affecting every decision the athletic department makes now, it wouldn't be a surprise if Faison is low balling the offer he is giving Jones. Ironically, not signing a deal last year may end up working out in Jones favor given last seasons results!

Side note: I really like the smoke that shots down from the scoreboard after the Penguins score. Would love to see this at the Ralph!!

Look at what stadiums like At&T Stadium in Dallas and the new US Bank Stadium have done. They have field level suites that they sell for a premium price. So it is not something that is unprecedented. What needs to be determined is the demand for them. UND football is gaining popularity and good seats are actually beginning to be hard to come by. Businesses, organizations, etc may want to host an event and have these seats who knows. Definitely something that is worth looking into.

Move the Frozen Faceoff to Sioux Falls. Start a new tradition with a new atmosphere. I think once people experiece the Regional there, they may warm up to the idea.

More hotels, more restaurants, more bars, more parking, skyways. Just to name a few.

They should close the tailgate portion of the lot 1 hour before kickoff. If you aren't there before then, you are not using the spot as it was intended for. You cold still park in the lot, just not in your assigned tailgate spot.

One question I guess I have always wondered. Do they allow drinking in the student tailgate lot? If not, it is probably a good reason why it is never that full. Also a better reason for the students to go out and mingle where it is allowed!

So in other words.....Retired. They are protecting the brand just like the Sioux logo. You won't be ssing the interlocking ND logo anywhere except on a few t shirts every couple years in very limited fashion, just like the Sioux logo.

Just need to form a conference with 10 schools where only 9 sponsor football then you are set. UND, NDSU, USD, SDSU, Montana, Montana St, Idaho, EWU, UNC, and throw in non football Denver to make 10. Gives you 8 conference football games where you play every team. Having an even number of teams of all other sports makes scheduling easier and it sets up great travel partners for everyone. Boom there you go!!
