  1. The others I thought of was Stockert in Jamestown has 20 years in but probably closer to the 200 mark from what I can tell. (Which is a good number in and of itself) Has to be good long runs in Forks at central that would get up there. Seems like quite a project but would be an awesome resource to compile it all.... and would be more of a building block of creating thet North Dakota Hockey culture that we seem to lack as opposed to hoe others embrace.
  2. So seeing this got me thinking, where do we think these totals stack up in ND high school hockey historically? A milestone for sure but can't believe its close to the most in the ND in any way. Are there even any types of archives of this type of inf back through the years? I'd have to think that there have been some long standing coaches in the east GF, DL , Fargo? Dean Wilson coached what 18 years? Not even really sure there's anywhere that records are kept other than Gillen's site which has amazing data but just back to 2007ish.
  3. That logic is using an assumption the NCAA actually cares in any way.
  4. Lock you liquor cabinets and hide your Wifes, Commies back for the weekend and lookin' to get "In One"
  5. Its in no way a new concept, been happening in many sports for many many, many, years.
  6. To be fair.... which one of the advancing teams didn't have a good recruiting class?
  7. Yes. It matters. Ok not sure what his meanings or implications are as Minot has good numbers up and down the youth program.
  8. I see and agree with that a bit, Minot could easily field another competitive team if they had all the kids who left stayed (but details are in who and where they fall in the districts.) The numbers are huge but, mind boggling its not. There just isn't a way sugar coat the reality of how big the talent deficit is in the WDA. And third of the games vs low quality teams vs a Jr's or AAA schedule just makes a crazy good argument to explore other options.
  9. Not only knowledge bet very skilled at interviewing and communicating effectively and clearly. Impressive.
  10. Skarperud has done just a phenomenal job with this group
  11. Reply will be in 4 volumes post season.
  12. Too soon to say but I've heard more positive than negative from those involved
  13. Thats just a bad case of a bias of perception and tunnel vision. Go to a Century Legacy game and tell me after those kids don't have playing for their school as meaningfull. Minot kids dont have meaning playing as a magician?.. tell that to some of the kids that devoted everything to making the team and didn't. Foolish. If it had meaning then why do they still leave for jrs? I might be missing the "meaning" behind the quote a bit but the arrogant attitude of "deserving" to play as opposed to earning and achieving the right (as those GF teams did again) is absolutely the attitude that keeps ND hockey exactly where it is, which is fine with those people. Maybe UM gophers should just deserve to be innthe frozen four every year cause it means something to them... same thing. Respectfully, that's an absolutely terrible attitude.
  14. The Ralph does a way better job and the facilities are better, the girls aren't relegated to the "Nobody gives a !@#$" rink... Fargo is just an awefull high school hockey experience in and outside the rink and town.
  15. Tell me you've never been to Minot Maysa without... you know the rest Ralph should host every year or every 2 out of 3 years, it is a better experience. Rotate the 3rd year between Minot and scheels IF fargo can figurenout the hotel management Not much of a student Thlete experience staying at some of the crack whore meth motels they are but up in
  16. The boys tourney could be held in Minot 100% of the years. You think GF has good attendance purely out of proximity but if those wheels had to turn more than an hour the student section would look exactly like Fargo Norths did last night. Which was absolutely pathetic for being in town for them. We shall see if it's a GF final but I think it's pure fantasy to think the scheels bowl will be over half full
  17. More than you can imagine... And the "was" isn't "was" it's more like "still, but not quite as bad" Showed in the 2nd and 3rd. Just nothing left in the tank.
  18. Great Kid, Great family, he should get a look in juniors somewhere. Tough road out of Hazen but he's a good hockey player and works hard.
  19. Doing pretty well this junior year, pretty damn good hockey player as well IMO. Certainly could be......
  20. Outstanding young man, it'll be tough to see a Vig in the wrong green and white playing at the Ralph, but extremely happy for him.
