WDA just flat out misses on Legacy and Mandan that's your battle for 2/3 right there. Legacy could easily develop into a top 5 at state finish, they'll have 2 lines and pushing a 3rd by February, with some young talent. If Mandan doesn't Mandan, they'll be back at state this year, they have enough depth. 4-7 roll the dice on who shows up on any given night. EDC looks right where I'd say it is top 2, then WF solid 3, after that more murky until goalies establish themselves to see what's what. Should be interesting to watch and definitely more parity this year, not as skilled as years past, by a long shot, but a good chance for some programs to get back to state.

When the administrators look you in the eye or write about how they understand the issue but then unanimously vote to deny the recommendations of the hockey committee 16 YEARS in a row (only 16 cause that's just how far back one can see votes) That tells you everything you need to know about the GiveAShit factor NDHSAA has for kids who play hockey. It's literally telling them to GTFO! Add the ability for HS teams to go to a weekend tourney or showcase two more weekends now your up to 35 games and the chance to play some better competition, then keep the spring/fall Team ND stuff Boom 50-60 games and more exposure through the season while staying at home. Continue to grow the development of coaches and practice at the youth level through ADM and generation by generation, the culture will improve. But for those in high school now it's too late. and for the love of God let a kid come BACK from a AAA program. Stop punishing kids who try to better or challenge themselves!

Some stay, family is more important to some, but it's tough to say no.

Not sure I agree on the ND based AAA... I agree it should be allowed to happen, it's 'Merica you want to start a program and people want to pay to participate go ahead, freedom right! But I think the argument that then can "stay home" is false. They can stay home if it's in fargo.... for Fargo kids.... is what people mean when they say that. That doesn't help nor solve the ND High school vs AAA/Jr's issue. Nor does it work to run the all year long Team ND model and just get together from all across the state and play on the weekends without practices, training and structure. Unfortunately we are a victim of the reality of geography, participation, and preference of our athletes and administrators vs other sports. The only hope is to make some improvements at the NDHSAA level for the best interest of the kids. That's not going to happen.

It's a snowball effect.... a couple go and then everyone else has "keep up with the "Jones" so to say.

Think..... that decent buck you saw before season.... mangled on the side of the road by a convoy of cattle hauling semis. That's what's left of it. It's that damaged. You maybe can still find a scap or two of salvageable quality tenderloin, or a decent rack to saw off, but really, it's trash at this point.

Havent heard anything but nothing really changes until he puts up the coaches poll and that doesn't post till first week of games or so.
