They will fully oppose any conference alignment that allows UND to partner with them. They will also of course be completely against out of conference FCS-FBS matchup with UND-NDSU. Ultimately this was the only move left for ag college and they did it. Now the monetary/political games either begin or UND non-hockey sports (namely football) fall behind again
-
History repeats itself. This is the only move the ag college could make with UND catching up to them … just like circa early 2000s when made escaped to Division I after UND finally got on top. UND will need to get real serious with their funding model and future moves now or this will be a repeat of 15 years ago … hockey can’t save the day by itself here
-
Nah …If there isn’t backdoor fraud, it could be and should be a lateral move with disaster potential… but UND can’t get complacent and needs to be proactive … on the field but more importantly with boosters and in legislation
-
Technically that’s inaccurate … but it looks better than actually reporting a declined figure. Again, the political games going on in the background here are immense … Grand Forks and UND would be wise to closely monitor and take action as necessary.
-
They’re not even reporting accurate enrollment numbers to begin with …

https://www.americanexperiment.org/everything-is-on-the-table-as-ndsu-faces-enrollment-decline/ legitimate concern … allowing the state of North Dakota to even consider supporting NDSU in light of the past few years would be inexcusable… if NDSU wants to privately fund this thing … try it … but the State of North Dakota better not even think about bailing out that pathetic institution at the expense of disregarding North Dakota’s flagship university there’s some real political unrest potential here

Interesting requirements these days around UND athletics…
-
Ag college fans are literally the worst … very sad that many are our neighbors. Karma is coming and it is going to be oh so sweet
-
The resources are in place to hire a new Sports Information Director. Bigger question is what is the philosophy or goal? Perhaps you should apply? More the merrier- thank you for expanding coverage with potential interviews. It all helps.

After spring break, so approximately the third week of March would be start of spring ball. Would expect spring roster to be out at that time as well if UND athletics has their **** in line.

Excellent 2026 recruiting class. Best in UND history based on face value. As for player development, the facilities, resources, and focus are in place for that to also be next level. On to the 2027 class… hope it’s as good if not better
-
Well, well …
-
Historically, this game/situation would be a blow out. If this is a UND MBB team on the rise, then UND plays them close and/or pulls the upset. Then we would get a couple exciting home games the next weekend after that with a pumped up home crowd. so, let’s see if new era/squad or same ol’ same ol’
-
Gotta win that recruiting battle, and we will …
-
I think this “spin” actually is an accurate one… need all of those things you mentioned or else UND is in fact a 0.39 winning percentage basketball program …
-
Cruel reality, also, and needs to change or will continue be regional and in-state laughing stock. Other than hockey, there are a few non-hockey (also non-athletics) options / programs that keep things afloat…
-
Being a competitor, if you are one, never leaves you…
-
Certainly these mediocre expectations are on par with what the insider perspective and philosophy on UND basketball has been and is, also. Cruel reality, until a major donor steps forward.
-
A lot of very good points, but honestly, before getting paralysis by analysis, I’d say the above quoted section is the main issue …
-
Absolutely. If nothing else get this dude back on campus with Jimmy K. and other notable fb alums with pro success as much as possible Chad Mustard could also teach the current tight-ends a thing or two … … such an unbelievable era of und football … Schmidt is bringing that back to UND … big-time future ahead
-
I couldn’t care less … they're bozos for affiliating themselves with the fargo ag corruptive cooperative, I mean “college”
