  1. Whether UND wins this game or not, my opinion of Kyle will be unchanged. Does not have it and is the principle problem. Need culture and a leader to institute it. Also, if UND fails to score here and loses, it is still the defense’s fault for the loss. Complete crap defense once again, albeit the early pick 6 hurt. Still, need to be able to stop lower tier conference teams better than they have the past couple weeks.
  2. Again, wake me up when we have a new head coach. This program and these student-athletes deserve better. Right now, the team stands no chance with the complete indirection. There’s no leadership. There’s no accountability. There’s no discipline. There’s no championship expectations. The culture is broken. Please excuse Bubba, and bring in a new leader of men that knows championship culture.
  3. Not really that fun to be honest. Typical loss vs FBS team and typical blowout loss in Fargo, and typical road embarrassments. Bubba ball
  4. Piss poor leadership. This team has no fire, and it’s because there’s no leadership. Culture is hollow. Bubba needs to hit the road and a man of principle and accountability needs to get the job.
  5. And perhaps this is why Bubba’s teams never have any accountability? Complete culture failure in big games and on the road. Has to do with the little things. What’s said and done when no one is looking. It’s just not there for UND, under Bubba.
  6. Need a culture reset in the worst way, which definitely requires Bubba to be gone, but honestly Chaves should go to. With all that said…… won’t happen; the REA and new campus buildings are pretty, NDSU is king, and UND is all about moral victories and participation awards.
  7. Get a new offensive coordinator. Culture improves, intrigue spikes, and unit improves game by game, despite first year starters at QB and OL. Extend same ol’ defensive head coach, keep same inbred defensive staff, and look what we have: a defense with no energy, no intrigue, no focus, no accountability, no discipline. This isn’t rocket science. But even so, Chaves, Bubba and anyone backing this crap are still failing miserably at decision-making.
  8. Ha! I might have to start riding a bike everywhere just so I can possibly experience this.
  9. Well, we may have another “favorite Bubba moment” developing right in front of us now …
  10. Of course. And so here we are. Pointless extensions. UND football continues to wander in circles in the dark, no clear path of improvement in sight … no leadership or championship culture.
  11. Nice guy, but you are what your record says you are. After 11 seasons we know what Bubba is capable of (and not capable of). Bubba can’t develop and create the culture UND football needs to be at the level of NDSU and SDSU. Need someone else from a top tier culture, who knows that culture, to come to UND and grow that here at UND…
  12. C’mon man… stop blaming me and focus on the real problems. That comment of mine you quoted was directed against any individual who incorrectly and suspiciously thinks it’s okay to continue to extend Bubba. They don’t have to be on this board / forum. You don’t need to defend this on this forum, because I’m not after them. I am however strong in my conviction against Bubba Schweigert as the right person to lead UND above NDSU and SDSU. UND football with Bubba (over the past 11 seasons) does not have the leadership, accountability, expectations, and ultimately the culture to ever be a national champion. Dale Lennon had it back in the day. UND desperately needs someone else like that. A leader of men. But Chaves and the “others” (select boosters) are clearly lost with their direction, or being told by hockey-backers to purposely sabotage UND fb (the latter is hopefully without any merit)…
  13. ? I’m not blaming fans on this board (unless they’re calling up Chaves and begging him to extend their buddy Bubba)… I’m clearly blaming Bubba and Chaves. Even with Bubba ball, UND could go 3-1 to finish the season and make playoffs at 8-4. But that is just smoke and mirrors as UND is still no where close to SDSU and NDSU.
  14. That’s because they most certainly are. Leadership absent. Preparation, accountability and culture absent… but what did we expect? It’s bubba ball…
  15. Again, you’re blaming me for the inaction and disarray of UND football. Seems strange.
  16. He and his “program” are a joke
  17. Nah, Bubba and Chaves are actually doing it again, but you may continue to pick your battles accordingly…
  18. Sure. But the bigger problems (culture, discipline, expectations) are the thing to focus on if want to escalate UND beyond current expectations. If folks are fine with 3rd or lower in the conference, though, then keep the current mess in place …
  19. To @iramurphy’s point and to your point, yes, some scheme flaws are there on defense. Would a spy have maybe worked last week vs YSU? Possibly. But these games are oftentimes decided well in advance. It’s the message in the room (and unsaid expectations) = culture. The devil is in the details. Good teams run the same schemes as bad teams; the difference is in the details and the mindset. Discipline matters. “Failing to prepare is preparing to fail”, as the great Benny Franklin once said.
  20. That’s just a microcosm of the actual problem. Schemes are overall adjusted every game as all of these road games are against different teams, yet the culture, mindset, expectations of the team on the road always leads to the same result. It’s a culture issue, and it’s entirely Bubba’s fault (and also to a certain degree Chaves and UND’s blind supporters propagating this over a winning culture).
  21. Bubba’s accountability has been completely fractured over the past several seasons. The culture isn’t where it needs to be if we want UND to compete with NDSU and SDSU; if we’re content with 3rd place or lower every season, then so be it I guess.
  22. University of North Dakota football should be held to a much higher standard than St. John’s University football… I realize that’s not directly what you’re saying, but for even this sort of comparison to occur is embarrassing. Just my 2 cents.
  23. This ain’t a scheme issue or even a personnel issue as much as it is a culture and accountability issue. Consistently so bad on the road for just too long for it to be anything else. I agree with the great minds of the game on this one (Bill Walsh, Bill Belichick, Nick Saban, etc.). It is what it is. Need a new voice of leadership and accountability in the room for the road woes to change. With that said, despite how bad UND is on the road and on defense, I fully expect UND to win this road game today. Indiana State is just that bad …
  24. Agreed, but we of course don’t have a good head coach.
  25. Are you giddy or are you “griddy”? Bubba “griddy” Schweigert is sure to griddy his way to another collapse. This program (UND football) has some awesome buildings coming up, but it’s otherwise built on excuses. Excuse after excuse. This press conference explanation is embarrassing. Put it into perspective? You lost to Youngstown state?!! You lose on the road routinely every season. The road record is horrific. So much potential for UND football, but continuing to drop the ball on a consistent basis. UND fans deserve better after nearly 20 years of living in NDSU’s shadow. Toe to toe, day by day. No will or desire to be great, no will or desire to be the best. Again wake me up when we have a new, improved leader of men at HC for my beloved UND fb program
