It's hard to say. Such a tough position to geuss which one is going to catch on the quickest. Athleticism only gets you so far. You can get a guy that can fly down the line and pull on a sweep but he better be able to know what linebacker he needs to pick up on a blitz or else he's better off on the bench. Helgren certainly has the physical attributes to take that step though.
-
I'd say Holm, perhaps Canady, one of the OL will get pulled by necessity and Cloyd if an injury occurs at TE.
-
Let WMU and Miami go to the Big Ten. It won't hurt there fanbase it would be a good fit. Not for us. Atleast not right now. NCHC could pick up two other regional teams in Bemidji and Mankato. Who knows what Arizona State is going to do and I'm believing this UNLV talk just as much as I was believing the Moorhead State talk.
-
Just a bad idea. Why be a small fish in a big pond (hockey in the Big Ten) when you're a big fish in a small pond (hockey in the NCHC schools). Hockey is top dog at almost if not every school in the NCHC.

We're obviously thinking alike.

Not if UND Fan is in the Caribbean with a bunch of female models. That would be great for him. Of course most of us are stuck looking at our boss who resembles Punxsutawney Phil. Not so good for us. Not that anyone has to say who if they know or have a inkling, but does anyone think there will be a surpise signing tomorrow or nonsigning? Every so often we get that on signing day. Somebody who commits but doesn't sign or can't sign cause it turns out he doesn't qualify. Idowu was one in recent memory, he didn't sign until a few days later. A kid named Arin Smith DE out of California was a 3 star that never did show. Just wandering if somebody might be expecting or might be expecting something tomorrow. I don't need to know who just if you think something might happen, GF Hockey you can obstain from this conversation that would be great.

That's what I was afraid of. kind of like a Hanson who is now at LB or the local kid from a few years back (can't remember his name) who played TE.
-
In all fairness there is about as much talk on bison nation about UND football as there is NDSU football here. Not sure there is as many UND fans on bison nation as there is NDSU fans on here but I don't mind a few of them. Anyway, looks like Blount is going to Wisco. No scholly QB this year. Whats the chances the Minot kid can develop into a player?
-
Really? That's the first I heard about Johannesson. That would be a heck of a get NDSU.
-
If true that does hurt. Like I said UND has got some Moorhead kids lately so these things happen. Even I went to NDSU. If you've got an eye on construction/architecture for a career NDSU is a better fit. Might be the case here.
-
Would've been good to have him but not the end of the world. If we offered a PWO and NDSU offered money we'll lose every time. Not sure if that's the case but losing a PWO usually takes awhile to hurt. Unless of course his last name is Schobert. That hurts just to say the name. We should've had him. Anyway we've got some Moorhead players lately so it's just one of those things. Good luck to Kuntz hope he does well for himself.

Very few QB's are starters right out of College and dare I say none of them including Manning were good in thier first year. I would like to see Wentz have some success. If he gets drafted in the first round I assure you he will get his chance to prove himself.
-
I think he would be. Time will tell. Other former players that have been coordinaters here I haven't had such a good feeling about. He seems like a pretty smooth character that could handle a OC job.
-
That's the one I was thinking of. So him and Goodman are the only ones that us diehards can come up with. Obviously, we've had others from California and Arizona play all four years. I can think of two seniors off this years team in Bridges and Butler. Impact players just haven't been plentiful from these states. I think UND-1 is on to something and I wander if Bubba and staff picked up on that as well.
-
RJ McGill was from AZ as well but I know what you're saying. Our core group of leaders on this team are typically from the Dakotas, Minn, Wisco. Starting to see some potential from Illinois. Arizona and California have not been great to us. In fact I can't think of one impact player from California. I remember an OL during the transition can't remember his name but I think his dad went to UND as well.
-
Nothing wrong with having your best athlete at QB. Hendrickson comes to mind.
-
Bubba has structure and process. Muss not so much.

I think he's a safety that could be a dangerous return man as well.
-
Agreed, first step is way to slow, way to high especially for run blocking. He's so big he can get away with that on the defensive side of the line.
-
Watched some video of both. Both are great athletes impressive highlights. Randolphs tape was basically of him playing QB. Awesome option QB by the way. Tough to say how good he turns out to be as a DB. Chinn's video was really good. I think if he was actually 6-2 he'd be a FBS prospect. He didn't appear to be that tall to me. If he is SIU is getting a steal. With all that rambling I confidently say I have no clue which one is going to be a better DB but they have about equal amount of athletic ability.

Maybe he already has and that's why they're leaving. Haha! The next one that leaves won't be so funny.
