  1. Wow, easy there I don't want to turn this into a Sioux vs. Bison thing. Although I did ask nicely to start with that NDSU fans not comment so I geuss if you want you can bite there head off its justified. Anyway my dad was in on some of those meetings in 07 that Geaux has linked about the future stadium. He thought 25,000 was a bit too big but 15,000-18,000 might be more feasible. It kind of has that if you built they will come feel. I agree about the REA everyone thought that was too large and Ralph actually wanted the thing to be 15,000 cap. but was talked out of it. Also my brother told me the location he had heard about for a new stadium would be Ray Richards Golf course. I thought that was a bit odd.
  2. I wouldn't even bring up the subject but I remember in 1995 or 96 when my dad was telling me about Ralph donating 50 or 60 million for a new rink. I said he was dreaming and then the guy ends up donating double that amount. So anything is possible. My brother also told me where the proposed site is at, but I can't remember what he said now.
  3. Congrats Brett, I wish you luck. Don't let the best years of life end up in Grand Forks ND or in some junior hockey rink in Canada. Your best years are ahead of you. I hope to see you on TV a couple of years from now on Saturday night (CBC hockey night in Canada).
  4. I'm not a believer in this story, but my brother told me this last week. He tells me (not a source, funny ha) that there is some ex sioux football player who is a highly successful businessman in Canada (possibly oil sands related), who is considering a 30 plus million dollar donation to build a new football stadium. I don't want to talk about the pros and cons of a new stadium or if NDSU fan thinks this is a joke. I just want to know if someone else has heard this and if there is any validity to the tale.
  5. I agree with the fact that the most circulated media that covers Sioux football is the Herald and they in my opinion and yours apparently are not doing a very good job. I think Sioux insider does as good of a job as two guys not getting paid can do and i appreciate very much. It just isn't circulated to the average joe who may or may not show on a Saturday game without some interest from the local media. Schlossman (spelling I know) does a very good job with hockey but that's his job. It always seems as if Nelson and Miller are two to three days behind Sioux insider and just paraphrase off of what they report. I know they have jobs and need to report on other stuff but I would like to see football become more of a priority. In time I believe this will be the case. HOPEFULLY!
  6. I think the season is broke down into three categories FBS teams, FCS teams and non D-1 teams. I think UND plays the FBS teams tough but lose both by 10-14 points. They go 3-2 against FCS teams losing to one of the California teams and Southern Utah and they sweep the non D-1 teams. This leaves them with a 7-4 record, respectable but not great. I of course would love to see a upset of Idaho and then run the table. Yet, after last year I can't in my right mind predict that but can hope for something between that and 7-4.

We don't claim him. NDSU can stake claim to him and Shultz.

That was the incident i was referring to. A back up QB was also arrested with him.

Well, he may have said it to Bob "light in the loafers" Entzion, but he also said it to a police officer after he arrested a couple of NDSU players. I love a guy that will go as far as threatening law enforcement to stick up for his players. Again, I found the guy entertaining but he wasn't running a striaght up program. He was really old school.

Well, Josh Murray I hope you read this and I want to thank you for what you have done at UND. No, I'm not being an ass. You have been a great athlete here and I wish the best for you in the future. Don't let the best years of your life fall on a football field whether it is in Wisconsin or North Dakota. You have a long life ahead of you, take advantage of what has been given to you at this point and go with it. BEST OF LUCK!

Why even keep track of what is going on in Fargo? The Force has one recruit for the hockey team in which Brad does a fantastic job of keeping us informed. McFeely who? Let him cover NDSU stuff. Apparently from what I hear NDSU did not get good coverage of signing day. Maybe he should care less of what happens in GF and worry about Fargo stuff. Again NDSU and UND do not play in football, until then worry about the teams we do play. If you want to talk Volleyball, Baseball or Basketball (only mens) go to a different thread.
  12. Your right, I don't see NCAA sending them back to FCS either, but funnier things have happened. Also I know what you were getting at with Idaho fans. I just wanted to put that line in there for certain visitors from other schools to read.
  13. If that article I posted earlier was true nobody has to tell them anything, the NCAA will. Apparently they haven't touched an average attendance of 15,000 for two seasons (maybe longer I don't know) and that is apparently what they need to remain in the BCS. How or if they enforce it is beyond me, but the article also states the NCAA is thinking about moving the required average attendance to 17,000. That would surpass there current stadium capacity which is 16,000, although there is some current planning (construction?) to increase there capacity. Either way I'm not going on any other schools forum to tell them what they should. No way, I don't like it when other schools fans do it here and I won't do it other schools.
  14. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/324910-the-fbs-attendance-hall-of-shame http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/2010/Internet/attendance/FBS_AVGATTENDANCE.pdf I also found this article written last year stating that FBS schools that averaged less than 15,000 have one year to get there attendance up or lose there FBS status. As you can see by the list there is seven teams that fall into that category with Idaho being one of them.
  15. You're probably right on Idaho coming back to the Big Sky. I looked and dating back to 2002, with the exception of a 09' season in which they went 8-5 with a bowl game win, they have had a losing record every year. Also there attendance ranks 118 out of 120 FBS teams ahead of Ball State and Akron. Even if they were to average a sell out that would only push them to 110th out of 120.
  16. Actually the game in question (UW vs Cal Poly) was a 2008 35-36 loss in OT. Cal Poly missed three extra points that game and a 46 yard field goal with 12 seconds left in the game. They then missed their third extra point of the game in OT, hence the one point loss.
