MTU @ DU underway. I like the Tech away uniforms. Similar jersey to the Wild. Not a big fan of the colors. Dark green and gold. Yuck.

Not sure, because I'm not listening to the game. UW just scored shorthanded on SCSU. 4-0. SCSU had two PP's in a row and couldn't get squat past Bruckler.

He was. Gotta make that Xmas spending money.

SCSU crashes the net and Bruckler takes a dive. Then a UW player drops an SCSU player. SCSU gets the PP for the late hit.

I enjoy the FREE parking behind Tabula right now. If they build a ramp behind Tabula they better not charge, because you still have to walk two blocks to the arena. If it's next to the Ralph, then charge. The free parking has always been a nice feature. Most sporting events you walk a long ways and still pay over 5 bucks to park.

Let's hope their is an NHL next year to take away some of the Canadians and Russians. It was great to see the best of every country, but certainly not the norm.

I believe those NHL network broadcasts of college hockey are just the CSTV feed.

Actually, the Sioux's ice has been much better this year. The Ottawa Senators ice guy came in and tweaked the system. The problem for the world juniors is that it is warmer all day long. Bodies and concession stands produce heat. It was warmer at every game I was at for the WJ's than the Sioux exhibition against the US. The next problem is that they had to repaint the floor with the WJ logo and ads. The new ice only had aabout a week to set up and that just isn't enough time. Finally these players skate hard. They really tear up the rink. All the practice sights are a mess from what I hear. For the East Side exhibition game, they practically shaved all the ice off just to get rid of the gouges. I think the system is fine, it's just to much action every day.

I was surprised to see that Ray Bourque was still there. Apparently they rented a house for their family.

Got back to LA last night and my roomate wanted to eat at Mel's Diner in Hollywood. He was wearing a CCCP jersey and one of the waiters came over and starting talking hockey. He used to work and the Joe in Detroit and when they one in '96 (i think) the Cup was brought to a bar near the arena and everyone their got to drink beer from it. Much better than Diet Coke.

Didn't see the game. I was on a plane back to L.A.

It's hard to get a read on Canada. They did not face very good competition in Group B. This is proven by U.S.A. pounding Sweden (at least in the third) and the Czech's beating Finland. One strange thing I've noticed is that many of the teams have some great offensive players making some tremendous moves. The one game of Canada's that I saw, there wasn't one jaw dropping move. Still, though, they make great plays as a TEAM on offense. A lot of passes across the front of the net. Defenses need to clog the middle. Canada has not played a close game and that may be their undoing like last year. Plus, they dump and chase, so a team like Russia that has speed should be able to grab the puck and get it out of the zone. Too bad Russia really has no defense.

The Herald said that Gretzky was at the U.S. game last night.

It's obvious that Kessel has some amazing talent. But it's that two year thing that hurts. I just don't see him staying and when players leave early there is always damage done to a programs' chances. If Toews is taking the NCAA route, would that mean he's a little more likely to stick around for a few years? I believe people were saying his parents want him to get an education.
