As I posted in another thread, I felt it was a PR move by DU wearing Bina's number on their helmets. The Sioux didn't have anything on their uniforms that I'm aware of. It took their coach over 4 days to finally say something about Bina in the press. Maybe he called Bina, but I doubt it.
Either way it kind of feels like a slap in the face. We hurt your guy and did nothing for four days and now we're going to get the feel good story out of it.
The all regional team:
G: Jordan Parise, North Dakota (MVP)
D: Nick Fuher, North Dakota
D: T.J. Kemp, Mercyhurst
F: Colby Genoway, North Dakota
F: Travis Zajac, North Dakota
F: Brian Boyle, Boston College
Does the week off help us or hurt us?
I think it's good for us due to health, but could be a momentum killer. I've watched every game today except for the OSU/Cornell (they are on at like 10:30 ESPNU) and the Sioux looked the best by far.
Other interesting reffing tidbit is that Campion reffed the BC/Mercyhurst game and called something like 19 penalties. Just goes to show you that the WCHA told the refs to swallow their whistles.
Not really. When Smaby took the boarding penalty in the first, they quickly mentioned Bina. Travis Roy also wished Bina well. Not one word about Murray or Prpich during the entire broadcast. Though, with the way Prpich played, he didn't seem injured.
Glad somebody started this thread.
I'm nervous and here's why. BC barely got by Mercyhurst even though BC had their players back. I think they'll come back stronger tomorrow night.
Also, they were able to watch our game since we were the late game. I doubt Hakstal let our players watch.
I think we can win, but penalties and playing the defensive game will be key. I hate the DU/UW style, but that is what will be needed to win.
I'm surprised to hear Campion was reffing the CC/Mercyhurst game. (Some of us have to work. )
Thorne and Clement during the UND game were saying how the WCHA wasn't calling as much and at the same time they were saying how there were 19 penalties in the first game of the East regional.
