    this nodak crap is already hurting our brand...we are known as either university of north dakota, north dakota, or und...this nodak crap is already hurting our national branding...nodak on the power play, nodak is with the goal, or nodak will be shorthanded...total crap....

    i've said at the beginning that those are good numbers up there...a lot of hockey only fans on here so i was thinking that nodaks (especially with the blessing of gods like brad berry/schollsman) would be way ahead on here...RR will win. if nodaks does i'm fine...

    I'll guess NoDaks wins.  I'm shocked the poll on this site shows RR and Nodaks so close given the number of regulars who support the RR name. 

    that's why im guessing RR wins bc I think we make up the silent majority (unlike me on here stirring the pot a little)...i'll be happy with any of the four as LONG AT IT ISN'T SUNDOGS!!!

    Let me know what gear I would buy.  I drive a Subaru.  In case it's helpful I pheasant hunt out of it, trained my own dog, grew up in a small SD farming community and am no stranger to picking rocks and throwing bales.  I built my own smoker, love David Allen Coe,George Jones and God, can butcher my own deer and drink my scotch out of the bottle (sometimes).

    I guess that's why your fan support at UND sucks and they tolerate mediocrity for a long time.

    We all know why you guys talk bad about the FCS. Your football program has been a cellar dweller and you watched your big brother reach the pinnacle of the division 4 times. You hate NDSU's success. Easier to try to tear down something than help bring your own program up . Why do you guys go to the hockey argument all the time ? Same reason.

    NDSU's success bothers each and every one of you. It's fine.

    Last point . 99.9999% of NDSU realize the FBS is big time. That's fine by us . We actually get to compete for championships at the FCS with similar size institutions. Never heard a UND fan tear down D2 football. You guys were awfully amped in 2001 to win a title.

    und had more fans from at a regular season hockey game against notre dame in the little city of grand forks than the ndac had in the big city fago for their first home playoff game in nearly half a century a couple years ago...12k reported (wday remember) attendance at the dome when it is more like 10k...or less

    because its hard to have those logos if its the RR (western theme) or FH (nature theme) or NS(more than likely the old ns logo...tweaked or not) .... if its the nodaks its up to whomever its up to to decide and i don't trust people like tom dennis, pres kelly, or 99 percent of the other pc libs in higher education....

    As one of three "smallish" schools that will begin paying full cost of attendance to all of its student athletes, UND's absence of a nickname over the past three years surely hasn't seemed to harm its athletic department financially.  Also, wasn't UND's last hockey coach the highest paid state employee in North Dakota?

    By the way, we're still waiting to see the numbers and figures from the study showing that Roughrider merchandise would outsell Fighting Hawks, Nodaks, North Stars, and Sundogs merchandise "by far".  Please provide a link to that in your next post.  Thanks.

    i don't need a link...let's put it this way...for every chevy, gmc, or ford pickup you see in north dakota count that as a person that would buy roughrider gear....for every prius or range rover count that as a sundog gear....a good safe nostalgic chevy impala would be nodak gear...a good mpg car for students like a ford focus or honda civic would be  fighting hawk gear....and a nice fancy upscale bloomington, minnesota car like a porshe would be north star gear....

    i would say there are more pickups in nd than the others combined...there you go.

    "what's best for und" is subjective. No one can objectively say that [insert nickname option #1] is better for UND than [insert nickname option #2].  

    you can talk all you want about why what and when but for smallish schools like und to be competitive on the field you need cash...merchandising is a big part in cash coming into the athletic department. having a marketable nickname, logo, and mascot will make more money which in turn funds schollies and coaches salaries and equipment....

    University of North Dakota Roughriders will make und more money than all the rest combined...by far

    I ve really been excited thinking about the possibility of Nodaks being the new nickname. 

    I just love the history I've learned the last week how UND used to be called Nodaks. It's great that a name with deep history could come back to help ease the pain of taking the best logo and name away from us! To think Nodaks is like a shortened version of North Dakota, just imagine all the logo possibilities, wow! Anything that represents ND could be the logo for Nodaks! Anyone that thinks otherwise just admit you just don't like the name and truly have blinders on because of it! It will be a proud moment when ESPN or such has a show about this someday and shows how a small town, and state stood strong to the big arm of the NC$$ and said you take away our proud name and logo, we want to stay as close to just ND as possible to honor our proud past!

    Just imagine the marketing possibilities with things like, don't mess with Nodak nation, we are strong, we are proud, we are NORTH DAKOTA! 

    One thing I will do though if Nodaks does not win, is get behind my favorite teams called the RR's or the FH's and support them as if they were still called the Fighting Sioux! 

    These are my personal thoughts, you don't have to agree with them, but I will not argue with you people that disagree as you hide behind your keyboard and talk smack!

    once again voting to stick it to the man (ncaa) instead of what's best for und......great

    Well wait a minute,  isn't winning FCS championships the easiest??? Why is it taking several years? 

    Seriously tho.

    "we are gonna put all our effort into making this football program the best FCS football team in whole GD country in the next ten years so help me god" said no AD in the country in the last ten years except the AD at the NDAC

    congrats to you...you did but when you got to the top of the mountain there wasnt anyone looking up at you because they were looking down at you from the next mountain over called Mt. FBS.

    talked to a student working at sams club and he was wearing a sioux jersey and asked him if he has voted yet...he said not yet but when he does it will probably be RR because the historical ties to teddy....i told him good make sure you vote but don't let your fellow students vote for nodiks...he laughed and said that almost all of his student friends have or will be voting for fighting hawks???
