  1. i remember when phil jackson said that when no one had ever heard of him und wouldn't / didn't "claim" him...now that phils reputation is slightly higher than a pile of dirt can we now "reclaim" him and maybe just maybe he writes a check to und to improve the fan experience at the betty?

Men's golf will be #5, not 7.  It will bring us to 16 sports, similar to our peers. Have you seen the buildings they're getting rid of? They were eyesores. The academic majors were low enrollment and the graduates rarely if ever got a job using that major, these things are tracked now.

hope when they tear down chandler hall they eliminate davis dr...parking and everything...would be a nice green space for few hundred feet along the coulee down to the pedestrian bridge.

I just realized there a wholly simple solution:

    Disband the MVFC.
    Yes, disband the MVFC.

    Before heads explode ...

Reform it in the Summit League by having the Summit offer football as a sponsored sport:

Full members (2020): UND, NDSU, USD, SDSU, WIU
Affilitates: UNI*, ISU*, ISU*, SIU*, MoSU*, YSU

    Done.

The Summit would offer FB and MBB and secure their MBB autobid.

And this does zero damage to the MVC as the MVFC is not the MVC.
The MVC has enough sports and teams that their MBB autobid is in no jeopardy.

The Summit and MVC both keep MBB autobids (aka NCAA money).

And the "Summit FB" champ would get an FCS FB bid (the old MVFC bid).

    *MVC members.

an offshoot of this would be for the mvc to add the dak 4 as full mvc members and merge mvc/mvfc into the mvc brand...some summit schools close (illinois schools) and some go to the wac, horizon, or ovc...(i do think that by adding montana as non conf games says a lot about montana not going east towards the dak schools)

    the summit finally dies

It's nice to see a bank with only a small presence in GF become a major sponor.  The International Bank and Trust has major operations in the Bakken and other ND cities.  Thanks go out to the Stenehjems and their Watford City base.

    what'd they do/donate?

Think their is a high probability of these subsequent moves:

The Horizon moves to 12 with IPFW and Robert Morris.  Both have new arenas coming aboard in 2019.  IPFW badly wants in now.

The MVC goes to 12 and  takes Murray St and Milwaukee.  Horizon needs to add another school now, so it takes SIU-E.

The OVC needs to replace two schools now so takes Western Illinois (which wanted to remain in the MVFC) and either Lindenwood or S Indiana.

The Summit is down to seven and for the first time in its history, is all west of the Mississippi River (and even a state further).

The mankatos, st clouds and umd had better come, or the Summit is a world of hurt.

    fixed...

Neither are his fault.  Not sure how you can put Drick deciding to transfer and Geno getting a DUI on Jones.

wasn't assigning blame at all...just stating the fact these recent happenings might cost jones some cash in his very lengthy negtiations with his bossman

I think it would be a good idea if someone took the lead on Siouxsports recommendations for tailgating.  Gather some input from people who go, get email addresses from them and send a big email to UND with those recommendations.  It turns a handful of people discussing things here into a conversation with UND that has some force behind it because of the number of email addresses cc'ed.

i do think part of the problem with coordinating tailgating from year to year is the turnover at the alerus...there is no continutity out there at all...seems like each year there is a new company in charge out there.

    Based on what?

lack of imagination...which is the reason why SOME people like arbor park...they actually thought outside the box a little and did a great job with it...the one by urban s...boring...the one by the old sanders...is that a loon or a nuclear missle...boring.

Arbor park is fantastic as are the other pocket parks. We should hold on to the others but this opportunity with Arbor Park is too good to pass up. These are the types of projects that Grand Forks needs to embrace if we want to compete with other cities to keep talented young people around and attract a talented work force for new innovative businesses. People tend to be reactionary with most everything in life, we would benefit from embracing a little vision from time to time.

??? the other pocket parks are junk...
