  1. or maybe Kelly just got off the phone with the consultants and they said they just found out about this small school in Maryland that might put up a stink about UND being called the Fighting Hawks considering UMES have been the Fighting Hawks for a 100 years....

kinda like the cars.com app commercial..."we messed up"

  2. Pretty sure Montana thought the same thing when CCU went to Missoula on an incredibly cold bad weather day, and handed to the Griz

don't think the griz were only giving up about 40 yards a game rushing that year?

  3. I say only 6,000 at most would show up to the Alerus Center for a football game on November 28.  I say about 3,000 at most would show up to Memorial for a football game on November 28.  It's a terrible facility and everyone who has been there knows it, some just aren't willing to admit it.  And I'm talking about before it sat vacant for 15 years.

I disagree about 3k...yeah its a dump but it would definitely create a home field advantage and the novelty of it might get around 5k there or more... the tailgating part would be crazy....

  4. half serious half joking...if the same 7k people would show up at either why not?? we keep all revenue imagine a chuck and duck team coming here in a couple weeks when its 15 degrees and 45mph wind...no one can run on us and if you can't throw I would say we would have a 90% of beating almost anyone...plus it might breath a little life into these fans...I sit all the way up in 217 and I can hear the opposing teams coaches talking to their players all the way up there....open up the hpac and have tailgating in the old east lot (whats left of it) and lets have a big old party

  5. I would guess that the same 7-8k people would be at the alerus if we host a playoff game...I don't think the lease at the alerus says anything about playoff games?? what if the game was at the old memorial stadium...pack the west side and have standing room only all around the track and east side...bring as many food vendors and have them set up shop....turn this into a huge party and hope for poor weather with high winds so our secondary would be not exposed so much....and we keep all the gate receipts....

  6. In this region, the fall is preparation of winter time. Most folks do that on Saturday (because they're working the rest of the week). A 1 pm Saturday game blows the whole Saturday. If they'd run games later in the day you could get some things done and still go to the game.

    please....6pm would be ideal...

  7. got another RR vote tonight...my buddy voted fh (actually his eight year old did) and then he voted nodak but i told him no more helping out at his house unless RR...he gave me his phone before the game and BOOM .... one more RR.

plus i found out that a former und bball player back in the day from the east side voted RR....

  8. wouldn't it be ironic that we become a ______ hawk school like miami and then we knock off the other miami and become the second "u"

intro to monday night football....elijah grady "the U"

followed by lamar miller "the U"

    great!

  9. I remember when a bunch of you hated schloss for the Nodak support and told him to shutup, now you love what he says?

wrong...i had no problem with him saying he was for nodaks...it was the part where he said und was opening itself up to more protests and crap bc we went from an indian mascot to the vile and racist teddy roosevelt...plus no one has ever said that roughriders will have anything to do with teddy....it was the scare tactics used that were totally garbage and not needed (unless your trying to sell newspapers????)

  10. In memory of the deceased members of the 1st U.S. volunteer cavalry, Spanish-American War.

So all these brave men will never be forgotten.

And I personally can't wait for whatever logo Bennett Brien comes up with and the symbolism that will come with it to honor the "cowboys, gold or mining prospectors, hunters, gamblers, Native Americans and college boys" that served in the 1st U.S. volunteer cavalry in the Spanish-American War.

“The feathers symbolize the outstanding rewards that students, faculty, staff and alumni will achieve for academic, athletic and lifelong excellence. The determined look in the eyes symbolizes fortitude and never giving up and the focus necessary for sustained academic, athletics and lifelong achievement,” the website quotes the artist. “The paint on the cheekbone symbolizes that life can be a battle and we have daily struggles. The color green symbolizes the development of young people and their growth at the University of North Dakota. The color yellow symbolizes the sun, which provides humanity light and warmth in order that life may continue. The color red symbolizes the lifeblood that has been poured out to make our state and peoples great." Bennett Brien

Vote Roughriders and let's see what Bennett Brien can come up with to honor those "cowboys, gold or mining prospectors, hunters, gamblers, Native Americans and college boys!"

  11. People have pointed out the arguments as to how much Roughriders is or isn't related(I know it's the state name.....I am not one of those) but there are several Hawks that are found in North Dakota. As far as Lady Riders? Wow, I hadn't even thought that out in my mind or read it anywhere until just now and my first thought would be are we going to add a "Brazzers" stamp to the ladies team posters?

last I checked a.  I don't recall RRHS adding lady in front of anything over there and b. last I checked a man or woman could/would break a horse in??
