  1. Agree- that was playoff hockey played well- needed a bounce
  2. They are playing tight right now- thinking too much instead of playing. A little luck and confidence and this team can pull out. Everyone thinks about the tv timeouts helping the forwards. For us this year it will be a boon to the D. We could get Pooly out there for almost 30 minutes with the right breaks. if Yon is good to go, I put him on the line with Gardner and Pogo. the bottom 6 I make a threat line and a true checking line for situations- Jost with Boeser and Gersich Gardner with Pogo and Yon Bowen Hoff and JJ Olson Smith and Gornall Wilkie and Simo draw pine Tucker and Gage Shaw and Colton Wolanin and Johnson Wolanin still gets pp time.
  3. I'm in Hawaii this week- would be down for something like that sometime though
  4. Naw, I would've been 1 then- this is the one with Chad Skarperud and Cory St Germain in the pipes for Central that I'm thinking of
  5. Back to that 93-94 Central team- Ruczi went to the USHL too- would've made Central unbeatable had he stayed
  6. I think it was 1990, but can't remember exactly, the epic RR vs Central that went many OTs...Chad Skarperud was sick...guy could've played D1 hockey, but chose golf.
  7. That was my senior year at RR- Central was sick- they were sick fromPeeWee on up. Matt Giedt beat us and then beat Central on Saturday night. Best team did not win that year.
  8. I am just sick thinking about next year- no Jost (why would he stay), no Boeser (Vancouver is going to want him developing with them or in their system), no Pogo (he'll be in the AHL), no Pooly (he could be in the Peg), Gage (likely in the Coast)...this could get ugly.
  9. in the braketology with incomplete info...we are firmly on the bubble.
  10. Our bottom 6 have the same number of career goals as Pogo...combined... our top line (2 sophs and a Frosh) have more combined goals than the other 9 forwards...combined...
  11. Thanks Randy, let me get some mix and some ice, and we can have Sunnyvale all to ourselves -Julien
  12. People...Western is for real. We didn't get beat by La Cordon Bleu or the Little Sisters of the Poor. They've beaten DU, UMD, and UND this season. Andy Murray is an excellent coach, and he plays the game old school. Last night was a very good, playoff style hockey game. Not too different than our Frozen Four win over DU last year. A late goal off a great effort and an empty netter. WMU reminds me of some of the UND teams from back in the day; smashmouth and sizzle.
  13. This millenia Natty's; BC has won as manny natty's as all Big 10 teams combined Big10: 4 (Goldy 2, Bucky 1, Sparty 1) NCHC: 5 (DU 2, UND 2, Dawgs 1) Hockey East: 6 (BC 4, BU 1, Friars 1) ECAC: 2 (Yale, Union)
  14. Remember, 4 guys from last year's team are currently on NHL rosters...been a long time since that happened all at once...a dpairing and a line. Can't reload that very quickly
  15. i should've said that your point is taken. We have no consistent scoring.
  16. To be fair, Jost only played in one of those
  17. Ok..that was a heckuva hockey game between good teams. It was playoff hockey, played by two teams that should make the NCAAs. We made a good push in the third, when Bubbs put Boeser on the top line. We sucked for the first 7 minutes of the second. Their goalie's stop on Gersich in the slot was key, and every one of their guys was selling out- Blocking shots, skating hard, hitting anything in green. We are not entitled to the NCAAs. Every team has to go out and earn it. Western earned the win. They beat us in a good game. They got a redirect goal, then our best d got beat 1:1 down low (because he was gassed at the end of a long shift), then a guy made a nice play, turned a dman inside out then used him as a screen. I do think we pulled Cam prematurely on that 4th one. Western and Denver and Duluth are the best teams in the league this year. We need to be the best we can be, and we can't get out worked or out hustled..which is where I have a problem this year. We seem to be losing races and 1:1 battles both offensively and defensively way too frequently.
  18. Don't disagree...trying to figure a way to kick-start that...second scoring line hasn't worked...clearly LJ was the straw that stirred that drink last year- I say now in retrospect
  19. Benching Wilkie and Hoff, eh? Maybe for this physical series that makes sense...it is now or never time for Wilkie...benching him now essentially sends him packing... I might switch JJ and Brock in your combo...can always double shift or switch as a mid-game adjustment.
  20. I personally want to take the pressure off of Gardner and Pogo to score. I think they would do well to just focus on hard-nosed hockey in a third line assignment. I want to break up lines- even one's that have been working...I hypothesize that some of the success of the Bowen line has been the match-ups they've been given.
  21. Just having Jost in gives me a boost, so it certainly is having a good effect on the boys. This is essentially playoff hockey now down the stretch- fighting for position. You want the best seed you can get in Fargo, not to mention home ice for the first round of NCHC...although maybe we don't want that??? $$$ vs : )
  22. After 6 mos of hockey, he isn't out of shape anymore.
  23. We have 6 games before the playoffs..we gotta figure it out
  24. Experiment.... Gersich Jost and Wilkie Yon Bowen and Boeser Gornall Gardner and Pogo JJ Hoff Smith Last chance for Wilkie. Put Boeser with some energy guys. See if Gardner and Pogo can score with the pressure off of them
