  1. I have to disagree with you. All 5 skaters have three zone responsibility. The fact we only had 18 shots get through in 3 periods is not all on the forwards. Offense from the D is huge, not just as safety valves or bombs from the point, but also transition and high-low play.
  2. Great player, great kid, great family. He’ll get some NHL reps.
  3. He mixes in some really interesting deeper stuff too...things that I only think goalies think about....I was trying to be a little punchy, but he is actually quite good.
  4. Well...he is not running fortune 500 companies nor providing life saving medical services...thank GOD...but all in all, he ain't too bad...he's got a homey feel...Roseau town and all
  5. Dirtiest thing said in college hockey last weekend “Brad, you were a little hard on the beaver last night”
  6. Wow...pull two drafted underclassmen...really not liking this lineup choice. Only way Blaisdell or Hain should sit over those guys is if they’re dinged up. Berry is reacting tonight rather than building, IMHO... Although he also knows the status of every player, and I don’t.
  7. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Bemidji plays a style of “hockey” that I can’t stand, but they play it well. Hard to play against, not going for possession or flow, but disrupt and collapse and try pounce on turnovers or win with the pp. Especially dangerous when they score first. It’s the style that will never make me a Wild fan...Lemaire ruined it for me years ago...it’s not just the trap aka left wing lock or a 1-1-3 or 1-0-4 forecheck. It’s the whole approach. Win the hockey game by not playing hockey...

    Kato GDT

Lot of positives, but bottom line is we needed to win one. A loss against BSU is now really painful...and they played SCSU right. Berry has a lot to build off of. This should look like a Hakatol team that gets better as year goes on.
  9. No lines yet for tonight?
  10. COP is huge too. Winning record vs top team(s) has n a conference sets you up to sweep the entire conference for PWR.
  11. So, we’re not at CBS 2016 team skill upfront, but our dcorps to me looks just as good as that team. They put 3 in NHL with LaDue, Stecher and Pooly. I think JBD, Pooly 2, and JTy are all NHL players. I want to see if Pinto and Mishmash can rise to the opportunity
  12. So what’s the deal with the retro pic with Parise in a landcows hat...has to be a story. Zach is Sioux, he’s done cool stuff for my kid and been cool in my limited interactions with him
  13. Next two weekends are going to go a LONG way come March/April
  14. Anything less than a split is unacceptable.
  15. My kid is in Jr Kings program...you are absolutely correct on Irvine. Great facilities and aspirations. Strong LA area hockey too will give fan base and quality players to kick it off.
  16. For elite hockey on West Coast, we have kids flying in on weekends! Tier 1 elite this spring/summer my son had kids on his roster from: California, Arizona, Texas, and Colorado. Tryouts had kids from Nevada and Washington too. It’s really crazy.
  17. No doubt a tougher schedule. It’s so hard, and as a parent of an elite player, it’s crazy hard. I haven’t seen him play, but if he’s ballpark his old man- whom I played against- he has a legit shot at NTDP, which might be what they are trying to prep for.
  18. It’s hard to know what I’d actually do in that situation. Clearly it’s all about development, so they must figure he’ll learn more on the East side.
  19. Why not just send him to Shattuck if you’re going to do that? Or send him to the classic lakes conference.
  20. Haha...you got that right! There is high quality hockey down here, but only a couple AAA teams. It’s a different model. Costs a lot more. Competition is all great, but you travel.
  21. It’s funny. Driving a little over an hour to Moorhead seems a bit daunting to GF folks. I live in southern CA. My drive to practice for my son is typically 1 hr 15 minutes. Can vary between 45 mins and 2 hrs, but generally 1 hr 15 mins....that’s each way. 2.5 hours in the car for 1 hour on the ice. There are closer options, but not for AAA skill level.
  22. I hate to say it, but I’d send mine to Moorhead for Minny AA
  23. My kid just was up in Toronto for an evaluation camp. I found it interesting how they evaluated players. Through a bunch of drills, and one scrimmage. They evaluated many aspects of skating, puck skills, and hockey sense (including work ethic and drive). They had like 6 or 7 specific elements under each of those buckets, then they had a five point scale, with the middle being "Average= no separation from peers" on the far end of success was "Elite= excels at a truly elite level", between those scores on the success side was "Very Good= point of strength relative to peers"...The other side was for gaps. When they evaluate players at the highest levels, the coach said they want to see mostly very goods, they can live with a couple averages, but they really want to see at least one ELITE and nothing below average. I thought this made sense and gave me a lens into Hockey Canada.
  24. FULLY committed...orally...
