And yet if you read letsgodu! They’re still not happy being in the Summit League. They think they are a cut above everyone else in that conference. I seem to recall they were never happy in the WAC either. So until they become full time members of a Power Five conference like the PAC 12, DU will always be restless. And the penalty trouble is odd too given we are one of the better teams in the nation. Typically, you find it’s the lesser skilled teams who tend to take more penalties. Given our success this season despite all the 5 minute majors and leading the conference (and country if Im not mistaken?) in penalties makes this story even more remarkable.

Thanks for the plug! I wore my #8 Schmaltz jersey tonight and the couple we were at the game with are Jewish and my buddy tells his wife, who in turn, tells my wife-who’s rooting for the Tigers-that Schmaltz is Yiddish for chicken fat. So now I’m chicken fat whenever I bust out the Schmaltz sweater.

I’m late to the party as I just got home from the game. Why was Senden a late scratch? Also, in the post game interview Coach Mayotte felt the refs were trying hard to look for something to call all night. I would agree with that assessment. The succession of tripping calls, while maybe some or all of them may have been legit, but didn’t anyone else notice CC getting away with a high elbow to the head in the second period that the refs naturally missed? Of all the things they called in the 2nd and they missed an actual dirty play??? Wow.

I had the distinct honor and privilege of meeting the infamous (and notorious?) @Oxbow6 last night at the game! Look forward to visiting again tonight!

Also, a great Cajun restaurant that’s downtown and only a 5-10 minute drive from the arena is the Springs Orleans. Also, Yakatori is great if you like Japanese and the price is right.

I will say this, while CC doesn’t have overall elite talent, they are definitely a team with a new attitude far different than what CC fans saw under Haviland. They may not execute the best on a consistent basis but they are really working hard and hustling. Mayotte could be the answer to turning the program around.

Calder got slashed in a game against the Gophers. Naturally, both Refs missed it even though the rest of us watching saw it plain as day as Calder entered the Minnesota zone with the puck. He took a two hand chop across the forarms.

The broadcast for CC games on AT&T is pretty good. It isn’t the radio guy, Ken Landau.

Back in my youthful twenties, at World Arena we’d sneak in some of those shooters and then go buy a Pepsi and make mixed drinks. Nowadays, in my old age, I sneak in Skittles or Mike & Ike’s from Walgreens.

I always get the tall boys which I believe are $11. They have smaller craft beers in cans as well but i don’t recall how much those cost.
