It’s 1-0, I turn away to take a sip of Tang and BOOM! 3-1!

Supposedly CC has a really good incoming class this fall. Guys who can score. Time will tell.

Even by that announcer’s admission, the ref was standing there watching and didn’t blow the whistle! Don’t get his logic that he agrees with the decision to waive off the goal.

Isaac Howard of Duluth is in the portal???

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Farmer’s no look pass into the middle of our D zone that got intercepted by the DU forward and led to the first goal of the game on Friday night at Magness, which led UND to chasing the game will be etched in my brain for a long time. I know all players make mistakes but that was so unexpected coming from him given his experience and pedigree. -
Well said.

That one’s a head scratcher….he suited up in 31 games last season as a freshman. This year, he only suited up for 2 games after New Years, on January 14th and then not again until March 3rd.

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

That would be a great one to mark off my to do list! (I’m trying to get to a college hockey game at every arena in the country) -
Is it conceivable we will need to go get two goalies from the portal?
-
Is it confirmed Vernon’s entered the portal?
-
One of Blasi’s assistants was previously at CC for four seasons and perhaps he originally recruited him.
-
He scored the OT winner to send CC to the frozen Faceoff. One goal does not a player make, I get that. Just mentioning a point of interest and I find it curious why he entered the portal. He played in 34 games and like others have said, he’s a speedy little forward.

Yep. CC proved what a great goalie can do for an otherwise not very deep team. -

Definitely not much fun here as a UND fan to be watching the selection show but I’m going to suck it up and watch. I hope you’re right that Berry and the team also watch as well. -
Is this the proper place to post comments about the women’s frozen four national championship game that’s happening right now? Anyone else watching it?

The only potential issue is what to do if Miami or CC were to win the frozen Faceoff? (Unlikely I know given their history but still plausible). Their arenas only seat around 3,000-3,500. Hardly large enough to accommodate the demand.

I’d be down with Des Moines or Sioux Falls though.

A thousand?

I’d highly recommend attending a Canisius hockey series if feasible. The food in Buffalo is unbelievable! Buffalo having a history as an old mob town from the prohibition days, has lots of great Italian restaurants. The arena is a really nice venue. The arena itself is elevated above ground seven stories up. And has that open air concourse design that’s become very popular as of late. The arena is across the street from where the Buffalo Sabres play. https://gogriffs.com/sports/2016/5/24/210975389.aspx

How about the 17,500 seat arena in downtown Omaha? Plus, Omaha’s more centrally located for all conference members and downtown Omaha is well equipped to host fanbases (they do it each and every year with the college World Series).

Fixed!

I think the decision makers at the time of the formation of the NCHC naively thought they’d easily capture the magic of the WCHA Final Five with the Frozen Faceoff, not recognizing that most of the old WCHA member schools were within a day’s drive of the event, not to mention decades upon decades of cultivating and growing these rivalries that existed among UND, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Duluth, and to a lesser extent, CC and Denver. Having attended the first six Frozen Faceoffs, to show our fan support, coming out from Colorado took considerable time and expense. It got to the point where it felt like we were being price gauged between the cost of the tournament ticket packages and then the cost of concessions and beer once trapped inside the venue. As one can imagine, between DIA airport parking, airline tickets, rental car in the twin cities, hotel rooms, food and beverage, gas, etc., these annual weekend excursions were not cheap but we did it because we wanted to support the teams and the conference. After 2019, I kinda had enough and decided to vote with my wallet and, for the foreseeable future, take a break. I wrote to the NCHC following the conclusion of the 2019 tournament, expressing my disappointment with the prices charged inside the venue and for the tickets. And rather than acknowledging my feedback, I received a very short reply, deflecting blame for the high concession prices on the venue and no acknowledgment that the conference were the ones who made the decision to hire the venue and potentially having some influence or say on what the prices would be for concessions.

Hence, scoring 2 goals in the last 2 1/2 minutes to send it to overtime?
