Private school Valor Christian coached by George Gwozdecky just won their 4th Colorado state hockey title in six years the other day.

I see Mbereko and Laba as for sure gone after this season. Veremyev could also be a flight risk.

CC got outplayed for much of the night. If not for Mbereko, score would’ve been more like 6-1.

Yah, I’m thinking DU take Friday’s game up at Magness and CC rebounds on Saturday down at Robson. As good as DU is, they’ve shown they are human and even a lesser talented, less deep team like CC can hang with them and win a game or two. Hopefully Laba will be back in the lineup, having the bye week should help buy the team some time to get him healthy. Laba is the lynchpin to CC’s offensive ability.

Ref left his mic on and very empathetically explained to the Broncos bench that he watched it 15 times and Boisvert never grabbed the puck in the blue paint.

During overtime, WMU play by play guy said Boisvert actually closed his hand on the puck and threw it out of the blue paint but it didn’t appear to have happened that way when watching a replay of it.

Color guy for the Broncos said Boisvert took a dive on that penalty call in overtime.

A Bronco fan got in the face of a couple of younger UND guys and knocked the UND fan’s beer out of his hands. Unfortunately, the beer spilled over another Bronco fan who was not pleased with his fellow Western fan! And why was Bronco fan number one so pissed? -Because the UND guy yelled, “Hey Broncos fans, #4 ain’t your b*tch after all!” (The lunatics had been riding Livanavage pretty hard all weekend). Apparently, visiting fans aren’t allowed to celebrate at Lawson.

So looking likely a first round road trip to Denver? Just F’g great.

Western is just absolutely swarming us. We look scared and confused.

I knew it could be a long night when less than a minute in, we created a bad turnover that dang near led to a quick goal. Not going to name names but he had a couple of bad turnovers last night. TJ really did his best to keep us in it.

Not ND HS hockey but just read Schloss’ article about EGF beating Warroad to go to state. Question: If Warroad was one of the state’s top seeds to lose, why were they playing on the road at East Grand Forks? Shouldn’t they’ve been playing at Warroad?

I hope the boys from Western went out and celebrated and got absolutely polluted last night but something tells me that they would still come out tonight, hung over and make a game of it.

I stuck around to watch Western’s celebration. It was fun to see for their program and fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your feelings for our current NCHC commissioner, her mic wasn’t working so we couldn’t hear her talk as she awarded the Penrose cup to the Broncos.

If not for TJ, it would be about 5-0 already.

Remember the year Denver forced us to buy some lame DU sports package? Had to buy other DU sports teams’ games with the hockey tickets.

I heard it’s spring break at Western. I recall Denver trying to schedule either UND or CC over winter breaks or spring break so they could sell the student section seats.
