Regardless of what the administration may have done or not done, Miller has permanently painted herself as a troublemaker. I don’t know why any program at any level would take a chance with her by taking on that baggage.

Given the timing of CC athletic director Ken Ralph’s departure, it’s indicative of the manner in which he held his post at CC. This article was way too kind, IMO, in addressing Ralph’s tenure as AD. For those of you who read this and inquire about the part of the story that talks about Scott Owens’ departure, apparently, he wasn’t even given the courtesy of being told to his face that he was being let go. I have long thought that Schloss has the greatest job in the world-he gets to watch the team play in every single game, home or away, and the company picks up the tab. I’d kill for that gig.

The Schwartz brothers were recruited by UND but ended up committing to CC because they were one of the first schools to show interest. As happy as I was to have them at CC can you imagine those UND teams in 2011 and 2012 with them on it? That would’ve been sweet.

Has anyone here been to a game at Arizona State’s arena? I’m contemplating going there in December for the series against CC. I hear it’s a pretty small arena.

Yah, no a days, schools have two sets of nets-one set for practice and pre-game warmups and another set for the actual games. You should see the crappy nets we use in my Monument, CO league-you can hardly tell that the posts are supposed to be red and the netting looks like it’s ready to fall off.

DU has named Senior Colin Staub as their captain, replacing the recently departed Logan O’Connor who signed with the Colorado Avalanche. Jarid Lukosevicius, Tyson McLellan, and Ian Mitchell are the alternate captains. Staub is getting positive feedback from DU fans. He’s not a guy with a lot of fanfare. He played in the NAHL and has increased his production each of his first three seasons with the Pios but hasn’t put up eye-popping numbers. However, most captains tend to be leadership guys who lead but example, not necessarily judged by how many pucks they fill the net with. Reminds me of a recent UND captain, Steph Pattyn.

We don’t yet know how or why the administration came up with 3,000 as the magic number. However, given my knowledge and experience with the school, it doesn’t surprise me that they’re willing to basically throw away additional revenue by building it too small given theyve drawn well over 4,000 these past few seasons when the team has been down (over 6,000 for many years when they were good). I’ve reached out to one of the beat writers to see if he knows why and/or if CC plans on disclosing how they decided on 3,000.
