  1. Go to the Campus Lounge. Its a real dive but great hockey bar. The owner (Jim Wiste) played at DU and in the NHL for a few years. Its about 2 miles north of the DU campus.
  2. Here's a little recent history of trying to get a new arena in Seattle. There is a Seattle native that is very rich and loves NBA basketball (Chris Hansen). He deci.ded that its time for Seattle to have an NBA team again, and is willing to put up $400M if the city will chip in $200M for a new arena. And by the way, it would work well for an NHL team too. So he tried to get the Sacremento Kings to bail out and come to Seattle. That didn't happen. So the proposed new arena is in limbo, Hansen may be stuck with $100M in non-refundable NBA fees and other stuff. The NHL is pretty much an afterthought, so it seems to be on the way-back burner. I don't think that there is any question that Seattle can support an NHL team but there is no one that has the passion that has come forward to make it happen
  3. I am really looking forward to going to the games!!
  4. I have to agree with most of this post. The 87 team certainly had what I would call "It". They had talent and everything went their way. The 10-11 team had "It" but still fell short. This year's team did not have "It". They were a good team but were missing "It". A few posts hit, a defenseman fall down at an inopportune time, a soft goal too often. Lots of fate involved in winning the NC.
  5. When Rocco came to UND, he said he would only stay a year. Has he said that he changed his mind? Or is everyone speculating that he will stay?
  6. You didn't list the most important key - goaltending. Both guys have played well and both have given up some very soft goals. If whoever plays lets in any soft goals we aren't going past the first game.
  7. Section 205, Row H, seats 19 and 20. Face value. Post here or email thru Siouxsports site.
  8. Is ROOT televising the game live there? It doesn't start until 8:00 here on the left coast.
  9. Campus Inn is a great hockey bar. Its about 1 1/2 miles north of the arena. Place is a dive but real good food. Owner played hockey for DU back in the 60s.
  10. This is a little late but thought everyone would get a kick out of it. I was a few rows up from the benches on Saturday, and when things got heated, one of the bucky players (didn't catch who) grabbed a water bottle and squirted the crowd, or probably was aiming at someone that may have been heckling the bench. Security got there real quick. I called Cary Eades but he said he couldn't get there
  11. The theme song from the Brady Bunch would work....
  12. I just don't see having 3 right-handed shots on the same line. But it would be nice to get Rocco on a regular line to see what his potential really is. I can see St. Clair instead of Pattyn.
  13. But who do you put with Knight and Kristo? Mitch is a left wing, and we seem to have a shortage there. I don't see changing the second line because there is good chemistry there. Who do you put as center on the third line?
  14. Not a lot of question marks but the ones you listed are pretty big. The play of the D has got to get better, and quick. Even though Saunders and Gothberg each let in 4 goals this weekend, I thought Zane played much better than Clarke, and deserves the start on Friday, and let's see how he does. The lines seem to be shaping up. Given the injury situation that we had earlier (Parks), Mitch becoming eligible, and Rocco back from WJ, it made for some neccessary shuffling. I like the lines from this weekend.
