University of North Dakota Hockey 2014-15 season
siouxfaninseattle replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Scoring could be an issue this year - or not. I can see Cagguila, Parks, Mark Mac, Gaarder having big years, and maybe ySchmaltz, and maybe OD. I think it's well within reach to average 3.5 goals/game, and if that happens, see you in Boston! Speaking of Boston, I have my hotel room booked and get tickets on Monday. Pretty pumped up for this season!! -
Viewing options for Sioux hockey games this season
siouxfaninseattle replied to fightingsiouxfan86's topic in Men's Hockey
I tried watching the SCSU and Miami games and it was very poor quality. Skipping and terrible picture. But, I think the problem might be on my end. The NCHC site calls for 2.33 MHZ minimum and my laptop is less than that. I am going to buy a new PC and see how that works. It doesn't make a lot of sense though - I watched a lot of Sioux games on my laptop last season and the quality was great. -

Question for the tech savvy folks - I bought the NCHC.tv subscription and need to know if I can watch the games on my smart tv by using a wireless keyboard, or do I need a Chromecast, or other plug-in doohickey??? -
So the exclusivity clause with CBS will go bye-bye and FOX will televise all UND home games other than those televised by CBS?
-
Ok, so the CBS deal is what it is. What is Fox going to announce?
-
Isn't the cart way out in front of the horse in this thread? I see lots of comments about more games televised by CBS, and Fox Sports televising Sioux games (no more CBS exclusivity). I believe CBS announces their schedule next week, but I haven't seen anything about Fox. So is everything on this thread speculation???
-
Not sure why people have had such poor experiences with the UND webcasts last season. I started watching on my PC and it was lousy but switched to my laptop and the quality was great. Maybe those of you that have had poor pictures and buffering need to try different equipment. Having said that, give me Fox Sports!

Absolutely agree. I can see him being the top scorer on the team - as long as he is healthy. -
Maybe you should move to Seattle - you would fit right in with the other Socialist morons.

I watched nearly all the non-televised games on my laptop, wireless, and had no problems. Quality was great, although the picture wasn't as good if I hooked up an HDMI cable to my TV. I would like to see the conference come up with a better TV deal - I was quite spoiled when I could watch every home game on TV. -

NHL expanding to Seattle in 2014?
siouxfaninseattle replied to MafiaMan's topic in Non-collegiate sports
There has been concern about the proposed arena deal in Seattle since Ballmer bought the Clippers, but it looks like it won't have any effect. http://www.king5.com/news/arena/Chris-Hansen--261566091.html -
That's not good. You don't want to be blowing trannys...

The plot thickens! I wonder what else we will learn about last week's meeting?? http://www.king5.com/sports/Prospective-Seattle-NHL-Owners-Revealed-259467731.html -

I guess the meeting with Bettman last week had more behind it than what was originally reported: http://mynorthwest.com/11/2522661/Seattle-mayor-tells-NHL-no-changes-to-arena-deal -
NHL expanding to Seattle in 2014?
siouxfaninseattle replied to MafiaMan's topic in Non-collegiate sports
Seattle has the population and fan base to support a team. There are two CHL teams here and I think they both draw pretty well. As far as fans of western teams "flocking" to Vegas to see their teams play, I can see that happening - about once/year. Enough to put butts in the seats on a consistent basis? No. -

No NBA team=no arena. No arena=no NHL team. -
Because they didn't have "It". I said the same about last year's team. In spite of a killer run they had several chances to win big games and didn't win them. A home game to win the conference championship, a home playoff series against the weakest team in the conference (losing the second game nearly ended the season) and a playoff game against the team that finished 8th in the conference. It looked like maybe they were getting "It" when they beat Wisconsin and Ferris but it didn't work out that way. Now, next year I like the chances of the team having "It"!

So you're saying the goofs will bring Hill back. -
Good news. It would have been very hard to catch the party and much of the first game if it was the other location.
-
Section 224, row 2. So the article in today's Herald said that the pregame party is at McFaddens at the ballpark. The notice from the Alumni Assoc a few days ago said McFaddens on north 3rd, which is not close to the WFC. Anybody know which one it is??

That game was over 10 minutes into the first period. It was very painful to watch.

Yes they all have open practices on Wednesday. They haven't posted this year's details yet but check out this site for an idea of the events that take place: ncaa.com/frozenfour -
Yes, I would like to see the GWG from tomorrow against Ferris
