  1. I hope Fullerton's comments can knock some of the BS out of these petitioners. I argued with one on Saturday of the Wisconsin series and he was actually trying to spout off some of the crap that Fullerton flat denied in his comments. It is dirty tactics to try and force their hands and ultimately it hurts the school which I call my alma mater and which I still currently attend.
  2. No that's two days to come up with a design, get them to the shop, and then wait about 2 days for them to come in. So really probably just a couple hours at most to design something basic enough to arrive on time. Unbelievable the amount of dislike/hatred for the band when they are volunteering their time to add atmosphere to the games (and not just the hockey games).
  3. From what I've been told by one of the band members, the school gave them only about 2 days to get those jerseys and so the design was very limited and very rushed. They weren't too enthused about it either.
  4. UND over Houston Baptist 93-34. Wahl had a huge game and everyone had quality playing time in this game.
  5. Sorry but 21 turnovers does not sound like a coaching issue, that sounds like a player issue. Simply inexcusable either at home or on the road. Another note while listening to the game, as attrocious as we sounded with turnovers and free throws, the officiating sounded pretty terrible as well.
  6. First football home game of the year with halfway decent weather and you'll have people turning out to watch whoever and to tailgate. Doesn't really matter if it's that good of a game. You think a large number of fans show up because they want to see a good game or decent competition? A lot of casual fans will show up for the gameday experience, and the first game of the year offers that, as does the Potato Bowl, which is why those two games are usually the most heavily attended regardless of competition.
  7. I agree with the movement on Schuler. I think he is best utilized kind of like a Rip Hamilton with the Pistons for the longest time, keep him moving and constantly off-ball screening for him. You give him one good look at the basket from around 10-12' and it seems to be a guaranteed basket. I'd just like to see more of this integrated into the offense.
  8. Gotta win one of these road games eventually right?
  9. I think the number of 3's taken in a game should be a reflection of how well we can establish a post, or how tough the opposing team is playing in the paint. If they are giving up the three point line, then we should expect a higher number to be taken out there seeing as how they are good looks at the basket. Now if they aren't going in, then that becomes a problem and either you try to shoot through it (doesn't always work) or else you have to force the issue down low (which can present similar problems). I think it is best to preserve a balance, take the 3 if you have a good look at it, but don't fall in love with it. Against NDSU I thought we had the balance that we needed, establishing Brekke down low early on and then shooting from the outside to keep the defense honest and from collapsing too hard into the lane.

Ok, that was painful to read. The arrogance spewing out of there is just too unreal. Can those fans actually believe all that crap?
  11. Was at the game earlier and just have to say that Huff played excellent basketball. He was aggressive but under control (for the most part). His passing and rebounding are what made him exceptional this game, with several very nice passes and tough rebounds both offensively and defensively. Overall we had periods in the game where the offense was humming along and we were tough defensively. CSU had some good athletes that were very capable of finishing inside and I thought we did an excellent job collapsing on them. There wasn't really a point in this game that I thought CSU had control over it, and aside from the ugly finish, UND was the better team the whole game.
  12. She got a good swing or two in after the SCSU captain (I believe) started it. Was pretty fun to see.
  13. Hopefully we get a repeat performance tomorrow when I go.
  14. Has no problem with a seniority system for student tickets for hockey. There is limited supply, very high demand. It should be the people that have been at UND the longest that get first crack at the tickets. It's not like we're buying assigned seats or anything, people still have to show up early to get the best seats on gameday. Also they way they have it set up is that there are only so many tickets allotted to seniors/grad students, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen so it's not like only juniors/seniors are attending the games. Complaining about this is stupid and the system works (aside from stupid ticketmaster issues).
  15. I haven't really been following... what is the current state of UND baseball? Do we have a conference for baseball or will we have a stable one in the near future? I'd be all sorts of excited to get lacrosse at UND and would support that much more than baseball (I'm not a baseball guy).
  16. Questionable double technical there unless Mitchell said something. Just looked like a good foul to me.

    UND @ SCSU

Gee, I thought this thread was for discussion about UND vs. SCSU, not the same rehashing of the previous weekend
  18. This is a ridiculous statement. Why would UND have this circled and not NDSU? Why should UND not have been looking forward more to Kansas this year? A game against top competition, in front of a packed house, with a national audience. That sounds more exciting to a college age basketball player than does UND-NDSU. So your statement is ridiculous, the fans will ALWAYS put more emphasis on this game then the players until the rivalry is fully renewed and is played year in and year out to foster that sense of rivalry among the players. Sure players for either team might get caught up in some of the hysterics of the fans, but for the most part I believe this is just another game for them (albeit with added emphasis of the fans behind them).

It was a fantastic experience and shows just what Grand Forks fans are capable. Reminded me of a couple games in the Alerus with as loud as it was. Hopefully it swayed a few and we get a repeat performance tomorrow.

Will Braden be attending spring classes and spring practices this year or joining over the summer?
  21. Did anyone see what the leaderboard was at prior to it being taken down? I can't find it on the coachoftheyear website now.
  22. Final was 92-73 SDSU win! Wolters went off for 34 points, that kid is downright amazing.
  23. That was a great game and win for the ladies and got very nerve-wracking at the end. It was bad luck to lose Charney, hopefully she doesn't have too bad of a concussion, but after that UNI's #4 really took over, she was incredibly quick and really took over late in the game. I would also like to hear how many of UNI's points were scored off of layups. I can only recall a few shots they hit from outside, everything else seemed to be right at the basket.
  24. You shouldn't have expected that many students at the game last night. There aren't a lot that show up to games during the actual semester, so to expect a large student crowd at the completion of finals week and the end of the semester is asking way too much. A lot of them were likely already home or heading home. I'm somewhat surprised at the size of the student crowd that WAS there. The scheduling has just been tough, Montana around Thanksgiving and then SDSU at the end of semester/Christmas.
  25. Only 2,200 votes to go! If every fan that went to a football game this year voted just once we could have it.
