So, do we have TWO 1,000 yd rushers next year? Santiago & Oliveira? Santiago is probably a given (if he stays healthy) & looking at how Oliveira has progressed, I'd say yes.

Yeah, I get that... but our kick coverage has still been pretty poor this year. Hate to see a guy like Oliveira or Ratelle get hurt covering kicks & miss significant time. No-win situation. Higher risk of injury and we don't have enough depth at this point to put quality back-ups on special teams. That will change.

Regarding Prukop, some of those MSU D members, even if they are scout team, might be ready to take a shot or 2 at him this week in practice, red jersey or not...I wouldn't blame 'em.

Is there any checks & balances on the Big Sky officiating crews? Are they graded out or evaluated each game? Seems like there are many obvious missed or terrible calls across the conference each week... I see the entire Miami-Duke officiating crew was suspended for 2 games after that debacle.

Macgregor has been doing the kickoffs for the last few games. They put Taubs in to pooch it, being out kick coverage has been pretty poor this year. *injuries

yeah, I figured Studsrud wasn't 100% being there was no designed QB runs when he was in. The play where he broke pocket & scrambled was right in front of me & he looked a little gimpy still.

I think the QB debate was more backup based... People wanted to see Mollberg get a shot if Studsrud can't go. Based on Bartels' lackluster play.

yep. I question why even start the game w/ Bartels out there for 1 possession? I get maybe trying to throw a wrinkle at MSU, but they had likely prepared for both Bartels & Studsrud. The offense runs so much smoother w/ Studs in, why waste the possession? If they know Studs can go, then start him...

Yeah, I saw geaux_sioux's post about it... Just hoping we get a lighter metallic silver, such as Oregon's, rather than a darker matte gray, like Tennessee & others. Both look good, I guess, I just prefer the lighter metallic.

Not a fan of all of Oregon's crazy uniform combinations, but those silver helmets they wore last night were awesome... Would love to see UND get something similar w/ a Kelly-green ND sticker on the side.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this game as well... Let's remember last years game in Bozeman... The UND D held MSU to their 2nd lowest yardage total in Big Sky or playoff games, 329 yds... Their 29 points was 4th out of 10 games vs Big Sky teams & playoff vs SDSU. Montana held MSU to 314 yds & 7 pts in their game @‌ Wa-Griz, that MSU played w/out star QB Dakota Prukop. Let's remember that UND played MSU in the 5th game of the year when our running game was almost non-existent. UND ran for 71 yds against the 'Cats last year. I expect a heavy, heavy dose of Santiago and Oliveria this game... Like to see each with 20+ carries. If we can get any resemblance of a passing game going against their porous D, (Just enough to keep 'em honest). UND should be able to hang. Heck, even if they sell out against the run, can they stop it? Obviously, their passing game against the current state of our D scares the hell outta me too. Let's pin the ears back & bring the pressure against Prukop.

FWIW, according to the 2015 media guide, Bubba is still responsible for coaching the CBs, while Rodgers handles the Safeties. I know this was the arrangement last year too. Maybe someone that has attended practices this year can confirm, but if there are problems with the CB fundamentals then that should fall on Bubba, if that is still his position group... I believe Iwarri played much more on D than he did on offense in HS. But, I agree with using his speed at WR

I'm no QB coach or even close to an expert by an means, but to my un-trained eye, I've always thought Bartels had very flawed mechanics... His feet are terrible (& he looks so heavy-footed out there), throwing motion & release are very bad & anytime pressure comes he heaves it up off his back foot. I was very surprised he was listed at the #2 at the beginning of the season. After watching him the past 2 games, there is no doubt in my mind that he is not the 2nd best QB, & it's not even close... I agree 100%... Give Joe a shot to see what he can do & hopefully let a healthy Mollberg & healthy Studsrud battle it out through spring & fall camp.
