Then you haven't been reading the threads, there are certainly Bison fans on this website that claim this game is a joke and UND has no chance. That being said, I would also say around 10% based on what we know know. That number could certainly alter based on what we see the first 2 weeks. Also can't argue with what has been said on this thread about the hype playing into the game. Even if this is not a big game for the Bison, as some fans believe, it definitely is for UND and they will certainly be playing with passion. Only time will tell.

Plain and Simple ... on paper NDSU is the better team, and until proven otherwise, this will not change. So we can continue to debate it, but it is what it is; stats and recent history (because only recent history is relevant) prove that. That being said, the game is played on the field, not on paper. So come gameday, anyone could win. Any team could have an amazing day, and any team could have an off day. Will NDSU win? Likely but not definitely. Will UND win, unlikely but certainly possible. UND definitely took a step in the right direction last year, but that does not make us Big Sky or National Champs yet. Look at this year as another opportunity to move in the right direction. I don't like moral victories, but a competitive showing against NDSU would say alot about the transition of this program and where we are going. So for the Bison Trolls (Not talking about all of the Bison fans); Yes, we know how good your team is, we know what you have done in the past few years and we know we are not the favorites. BUT there is still going to be a game, and there is still going to be an opportunity for UND. Fans always have the luxury to overlook teams, but the moment a team does that is when they have the potential to lose. Can't wait for gameday.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2015-16 season

I think Chay could do no wrong because it was nice to see an offensive defenseman; that being said he would probably have been better paired elsewhere. Leaving a slow and HUGE defenseman to cover up mistakes isn't always a great idea. Not making everything Joe's fault, but certainly looking like it in the moment. I met Joe a few times, not a bad guy at all, just not the player I hoped he would be. -

I'll agree with ya, I was just never a fan. I though the guy had WAY more potential than he ever showed. Don't forget the A typically has to do with more than skill, which Finley tended to lack. -

No, "waste of space" is fairly accurate. For his size, he didn't have kind of cannon one might expect, he wasn't physical at all and he got burned all the time because he was so slow. 1st round pick and 8 years later, he is still playing mostly AHL (and not putting up great numbers). Not saying I would do better, but I was also not a first round draft pick. -

Hope you are right, but remember size doesn't always mean physical, for those who remember watching Joe Finley play. -

No, but only because we won't have room for Gaardner, once Austomer Matthews makes his surprise announcement to come to UND next season. -

Sorry Stoney, it rounds to 38%. Plug it into the calculator link you posted. Might as well take the 9 in 39% and round it up to and even 40% -
But the fan's don't really care about this game! Haven't you been reading the thread? Its not important! Ticket prices getting jacked up are coincidence and the shirts the school store is selling are actually misprints.
-
Nooooo, Not Murphy! But seriously, who is coming in his place? Pretty sure Matthews can't get a work visa in Switzerland, sooooo let give him a scholarship, a case a of beer and $50 to close the deal. No?

Don't be a moron. You don't think Bohl did the same kind of thing? It is part of why the Bison were so successful. Yes, they had talent; but more so, they had a mentality that they could beat anyone. It is why they were so successful against FBS competition on the road. Mentality is HUGE.

I don't think anyone is arguing who the better team actually is, but the better team does not always win. Even Bison fans should know that. Of course NDSU are the favorites, why wouldn't they be, after the past 4 seasons, but if this is such a throwaway game, then why waste your time discussing it. You're really gonne spend you time on here making jokes about a coach who has been here 1 year, and shown improvement? Makes no sense. wanna laugh at Muss? go for it, we'll join in. The game is played on the field, because crazy things happen. I'm not saying UND will win, but they are rebuilding under a new coach. I am more concerned with seeing legitimate competition and development to know we are trending in the right direction. UND wins - I'll be ecstatic UND loses a close one - I'll be happy (though I don't care for more victories) UND gets routed 50-0 - I'll be very dissappointed On paper, I see this as a Bison victory by at least 14 On the field, I see this being a much closer game. Bubba is changing the mentality of this program, which was much needed after the last coach. Talent is certainly on the rise; but there are still some gaping holes. If UND is going to win, this will have to be a low scoring game. I don't see our offense having a great improvement over last season, but maybe we will be surprise; I know the defensive improvement surprised me last season. One thing we should all be able to agree on: I can't wait for football season, and can't wait for this game.

Back in High School, during a pep rallies Seniors would always throw them at the Freshman. Usually by sticking a bouncy ball into the condom, then chucking it. Waste of condoms; and like you said, not exactly the first thing I think of when I hear Roughriders.
-
Well that could definitely kills some of the homecoming spirit. Regardless of the outcome, there will be some upset folks. My Personal Rankings 1/2: North Dakota - Still my favorite 1/2: NoDaks - Basically another way of using just North Dakota 3: Roughriders - Far and away, the best Non-North Dakota option (As far as I am concerned North Dakota/NoDaks/Roughriders should be the top three.) 4: North Stars - ND is not the North Star state, but this gets ranked here by default (just look at the next three options). I would still take North Stars over Fighting Stars or Green Stars. 5: Fighting Hawks - Don't like it, but its better than Green Hawks or Sundogs 6: Green Hawks - Don't like it but its better than Sundogs (In no way shape or form should Sundogs be an option going forward. It should have been eliminated from the initial suggestion list.) 7: Sun Dogs - No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No!

So what is the next step here? Is there a date set for the next action? Do we know if that action is for the committee to narrow the list further, or put it up for a vote? Do we have any additional information on how the vote will be conducted, and if it will be limited to a certain group, or open to ALL? This process is really dragging out, and I'm not totally understanding why?
-
I'm starting to get nervous about the lack of chatter on any additional FBS transfers at the RB and CB postions; given that it is almost July. Not because I think that FBS transfers are always the answer, but because we NEED depth at those positions or we could end up relying heavily on Freshman. Any rumors or chatter out there?
-
Can't really blame them; if roles were reversed Sioux fans would be very happy about being mentioned in that light too. Realistic of not. Truth is they deserve to at least be in the conversation, purely based on success. Reality is conference alignment is much more heavily based on money than success.

Sorry to correct you, but I believe there is a millenial version on Saved by the Bell coming out and then needed a new Mr. Belding. -

Is there a date scheduled for when we can expect to see this list cut to 3? At that point does the final vote still go to the "public"? Beyond that, is there a rough date by when they would actually implement the name? By this football season? hockey season? Middle of a season? Next Year?
-
What a joke, that C had Wade Murphy's name all over it.

Like a new on-campus football stadium? Lets do it.

I get what you are saying, but Chewey makes a solid point, that they would be identifying as a State, not a tribe. your are simply disecting the state name to support your own initiative. Then again, there is the clarification of "no nickname", making the argument of "North Dakota" involving a tribal name even less relevant. Real question here is, "Is remaining The University of North Dakota acceptable to the NCAA?" If the NCAA and UND answer that questions publicly, we can drop the majority of this debate and come to a conscensus. If "UND" is acceptable, then it really comes down to a vote, and I see it doing very well. Keep in mind that there have been no great polls to show conscensus. They have all been directed towards different crowds. A real vote would involve a much broader group. If "UND" is not acceptable, then we drop a big fight. At this point I see the "UND" crowd being split between NoDaks and Roughriders. With Roughriders already having so much steam, I see this winning in a popular vote.
