  1. I would love a UND-NDSU game in Mpls. With young kids, I just don't have as much time to make it back to Grand Forks for games. Also with young kids, my in-laws (huge Bison fans) tend to come down alot. This would be a blast! I'm sure I'm not the only one in this position, and between both schools, there are plenty of Alumni around here, not to mention the large group that would travel for both teams.
  2. UND is primed for a big step forward this season, but that doesn't happen automatically; they need to actually follow through with the hype that this will be a dominant defense, and a competent (albeit not great) offense. UND doesn't rank high in pre-season polls or have anyone on preseason all conference teams, because they haven't earned it as a team yet. Our success this season is pure speculation at this point. That being said, preseason polls are garbage and mean nothing. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like us to be at the top, but I'd prefer were were at the top of the polls at the END of the season. Can't wait for some football!
  3. More or less, what I was getting at. I just meant, I wonder if they would try to implement something in the middle of an athletic season, or if they would want to wait until August 2016. I guess we'll see.
  4. It will be interesting to see if they try to imlement the new name immediately, or if that would happen the following school year. I would assume it would wait a year as they will still need to create a logo and it impacts jerseys, apparel, venues, etc. ...unless they just stay UND
  5. Surprised it is taking this long to get some pictures of these jerseys. Let's see them!
  6. Any word on any transfer potentials making visits?
  7. Huge disappointment with Hilton and Webb. If I remember right they were both really nice sized players, a move from Bubba that I really like. Go for some size in the backfield. Was Webb the guy who moved with his brother when he got an NFL contract? I remember reading an article someone posted about it, but can't remember if that was Webb or not. Too bad, we could certainly have used these guys in another year or two.
  8. Good to know. Appreciate the information and updates, as always.
  9. Nothing on Glass yet? Getting a little nervous that we might not pick up anyone else before camp starts.
  10. Sooo how much longer are they going to drag this out? Are there any more meetings scheduled? Really getting tired of this process.
  11. Especially like when player acknowledge staying all 4 years. Doesn't mean they will, but it is nice to hear that mentality early on.
  12. Honest question for the NDSU fans (not speculation of the UND fans): What will your reaction be on this message board IF (big if) UND wins (granted it may be dependant on big win, close game, etc.) -UND got lucky -SU didn't show up -Our team wasn't healthy for that game -Officiating lost us the game -UND played dirty -UND played better that expected -Great, close football game. UND perservered. Congrats! Just interested to know if this were to happen, if some of you will be immediately looking for excuses OR will just take the loss, say good job and move on. I suppose it will be different for each of you (again a big if)
  13. Obviously Matthews is an extremem longshot for the NCAA, let alone UND; but it would be intersting to know what, if any, conversation UND has had with him recently. With the Visa issues, have there been any new phone calls to him, or are NCAA teams letting it run its course.
  14. Then you haven't been reading the threads, there are certainly Bison fans on this website that claim this game is a joke and UND has no chance. That being said, I would also say around 10% based on what we know know. That number could certainly alter based on what we see the first 2 weeks. Also can't argue with what has been said on this thread about the hype playing into the game. Even if this is not a big game for the Bison, as some fans believe, it definitely is for UND and they will certainly be playing with passion. Only time will tell.
  15. Plain and Simple ... on paper NDSU is the better team, and until proven otherwise, this will not change. So we can continue to debate it, but it is what it is; stats and recent history (because only recent history is relevant) prove that. That being said, the game is played on the field, not on paper. So come gameday, anyone could win. Any team could have an amazing day, and any team could have an off day. Will NDSU win? Likely but not definitely. Will UND win, unlikely but certainly possible. UND definitely took a step in the right direction last year, but that does not make us Big Sky or National Champs yet. Look at this year as another opportunity to move in the right direction. I don't like moral victories, but a competitive showing against NDSU would say alot about the transition of this program and where we are going. So for the Bison Trolls (Not talking about all of the Bison fans); Yes, we know how good your team is, we know what you have done in the past few years and we know we are not the favorites. BUT there is still going to be a game, and there is still going to be an opportunity for UND. Fans always have the luxury to overlook teams, but the moment a team does that is when they have the potential to lose. Can't wait for gameday.
  16. I think Chay could do no wrong because it was nice to see an offensive defenseman; that being said he would probably have been better paired elsewhere. Leaving a slow and HUGE defenseman to cover up mistakes isn't always a great idea. Not making everything Joe's fault, but certainly looking like it in the moment. I met Joe a few times, not a bad guy at all, just not the player I hoped he would be.
  17. I'll agree with ya, I was just never a fan. I though the guy had WAY more potential than he ever showed. Don't forget the A typically has to do with more than skill, which Finley tended to lack.
  18. No, "waste of space" is fairly accurate. For his size, he didn't have kind of cannon one might expect, he wasn't physical at all and he got burned all the time because he was so slow. 1st round pick and 8 years later, he is still playing mostly AHL (and not putting up great numbers). Not saying I would do better, but I was also not a first round draft pick.
  19. Hope you are right, but remember size doesn't always mean physical, for those who remember watching Joe Finley play.
  20. No, but only because we won't have room for Gaardner, once Austomer Matthews makes his surprise announcement to come to UND next season.
  21. Sorry Stoney, it rounds to 38%. Plug it into the calculator link you posted. Might as well take the 9 in 39% and round it up to and even 40%
  22. But the fan's don't really care about this game! Haven't you been reading the thread? Its not important! Ticket prices getting jacked up are coincidence and the shirts the school store is selling are actually misprints.
  23. Nooooo, Not Murphy! But seriously, who is coming in his place? Pretty sure Matthews can't get a work visa in Switzerland, sooooo let give him a scholarship, a case a of beer and $50 to close the deal. No?
  24. Don't be a moron. You don't think Bohl did the same kind of thing? It is part of why the Bison were so successful. Yes, they had talent; but more so, they had a mentality that they could beat anyone. It is why they were so successful against FBS competition on the road. Mentality is HUGE.
