I was immediately pumped about the ESPN coverage. So much more enjoyable to watch through the Roku than through Eversports. Whenever Eversports is good, its good. When it is bad, its awful.

Isn't that basically what the dumb mile marker trophy is?

I believe another safety received an offer today or yesterday. Jo jo henderson

UND (6-2, 11-7) @ SUU (2-5, 4-16) 1/26 7:30 PM

Wow! What a finish! -
Does it really matter that much? We still play strong schedules, and as long as we continue to compete as we have, we have just as good of a chance to make the playoffs and win a championship. Youngstown didn't get an autobid and they were in the championship game. The goal is to get into the playoffs, even if it doesn't come with a Big Sky Championship banner for 2 years.

Couldn't he redshirt if he wanted?
-
and with that, I'm done watching. Not worth it with that terrible feed.
-
well this sucks. Sounds keeps cutting in and out.

When does Tychonik come in? Not for another 2 seasons? Also, we have had a nice pipeline from Penticton recently, any more Def prospect that we could nab for next season?
-
NDSU's situation has changed a bit since moving up and basically dominating everyone. Understandable why some people have different views now than when the transition originally took place.
-
Yeah, I meant to say autobid for summit.
-
nope, see my previous post. We can win the Big Sky in basketball and football next year. Then we can we can earn an at large in football while trying to win the at large in basketball with the summit.
-
I believe we can still win the conference and get the auto bid next year, as we will still be full member. In the fall of 2018 we will be an affiliate for football and ineligible to get the auto bid, though if our record is good enough to have earned the autobid, then we wouldn't have an issue receiving an at large.

Agreed, the talent is there, the consistency is what has been missing. I'm sure he'll figure it out. I'm a fan, hope he ends up as a 4 year player.
-
Looks like we offered Jo Jo Henderson. I'd assume as a safety. Anyone think we will see some FBS drop downs this season?
-
Every time this thread pops up, I hope that we have received some OL committs. Getting a little nervous in that area. Also pretty bummed about Seguin. Anyone know what the story was on him?
-
And what is more important, where a conference was 20 years ago, or where it is going? If we want to talk history, the Gopher football has 7 national championships, but that very relevant to the past 10-20 years.
-
So you're questioning the strength of the conferences? or the teams? The way I see it, those teams made the most of their moves into the conferences. And haven't both been more successful than UND to this point? Haven't those conferences actually been more successful than the Big Sky? While I like the Big Sky, and it has been fun, hasn't the MVFC been more successful overall? and again, while I have like Big Sky competition in Basketball, hasn't the Summit actually been the higher rated conference, and had more success in The Tourney? I get why people might not like the move because they like the Big Sky, but this move is hardly a step backwards in any way. At the very worst, it could be seen as lateral, when you take all factors into consideration, and likely beneficial in the long run. The truth is nobody know exactly what the landscape of the Summit or the MVFC, or FCS football will look like in the next 10 years. UND just needs to roll with their decision and keep doing what they are doing to succeed.
-
I get what you are saying, but the conference is more than just the Dakota schools, and if you succeed in that conference you have the opportunity to play even more schools that were not in the NCC or at the D2 level with us, with the eventual goal to win an FCS championship. Basketball, we have the opportunity to do the same, play schools other than just the dakota schools with a shot at going to the big dance. (women's basketball has already had that opportunity, volleyball is the same) Moving up to D1 was absolutely the right move, and had the MVFC even been an option, this is where we would have started. The talent level and competitiveness has certainly been better than D2. NDSU, SDSU and USD are all better than they were, even if they are the same school, so does it really matter? We're playing some of the same schools, but certainly not the same teams.
-
What a revelation! So ultimately this move is also prepping for NDSU to add hockey as well! haha
-
I get that. I also get why they don't like it. But it really is more of, deal with it for two years, or deal with the travel and expense for much longer. Move just makes sense for UND and the other Big Sky schools.
-
A lot of fans not happy that we will remain an affiliate school in football. They'd rather see us be independent for a few years. To your point, they don't want to have to see their teams travel, or foot the bill, if we're leaving the conference anyway.

President Kennedy Message on Athletics

I think you're taking this to a whole different level. Stressing during finals week or Crying because the person you voted for didn't get elected, is a far cry from legitimately needing psychiatric meds or counseling.- 2,150 replies

What kind of attendance were we pulling in against N. Arizona or Idaho St? I really don't know, but I wouldn't expect it to be all that different.
