Definitely a chance still. I'm really hoping we put together a full weekend in Miami, though I really though they would finally do that against Omaha. We've definitely seen the flashes of just how good this team can be. Just got to get in and you have a chance. I do think they will have to do so with an at large big though. I really don't see us winning the NCHC tourney. I do think if we make it to the NCAA tourney, there is always a chance.

Probably right, its not like any of them have had a ton of support from their surrounding players. Put them in a lineup with more talent (like Boeser last season) and they probably look much better. Hoping Jost stays, but the big concern for next season is to get more well rounded production.

I will say this about the team this year. Obviously, not what we are used to seeing with UND, but that could make the NCAA tourney much more interesting, IF (and that is a very big if) they actually make it. Every year, up until last year, I've though we had a legit chance to make a run and win it all and been left disappointed. Definitely don't get that feeling with this team, and with how they have been playing. At this point, getting in is the biggest goal and winning even 1 game would be a big accomplishment. If we are playing in the NCAA tourney, it won't be as heartbreaking to lose as in years past. It will still stink, but the expectations for this team just cannot be the same as they have been in so many other years. This team has talent, but seems to lack so much identity and leadership. Really really hope they can muster up enough wins to get in, but at this point its hard to find confidence in that happening. Though, if the team can find a way in, who knows what happens. That's the great thing about the NCAA tourney. Anyone can hit a hot streak and win it all. After the year is over, 3 people to watch will be Tucker Poolman, Brock Boeser and Tyson Jost. All will have the opportunity to leave. Tucker will likely be gone. Boeser will probably sign. Jost could go either way. Based on this season, I really don't think there is a single person on this team who should go pro. I don't think anyone has consistently played at a level that would warrant leaving early. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out for sure, but a lot of guys would do well with some more development. Hopefully someone can step up during the off-season and really take a leadership role on this team.

You guys are funny. Isn't it obvious what Berry is doing? Last year he wins the Nat'l Championship with a team that was one of the best all year. That would be boring two years in a row, so he is creating a little excitement. Appear to struggle, just barely slip into the tourney, they hit the gas and smoke everyone. Its all an act.

This team just keeps getting it done. Not always pretty, but they get it done. Exciting end to the game.

Sick of the Hak vs Berry BS. When Hak was here, he was awesome. Didn't get the championship, but you knew you had a chance every year. Berry is 1 for 1, also pretty awesome. Nobody has anything to be complaining about in the coaching department at this school.

Probably not, that was pretty amazing. But it would be nice to see the team pass better than they have, and shoot quicker than they have. I feel like that is where you would see Rhett excel. Just get the puck to the net, and let him try to clean up with a few garbage goals. Quick shots were a noticeable difference when this team played in Omaha.

Absolutely! The players seem to be much slower than last season to make the decision to take the shot when they have it. Cost us a goal last weekend, when a cross ice pass gave someone a wide open look at the net. We waited to shoot and gave the goalie time to get over. Boeser has been a little curious this season. Obviously a great talent, and gets a ton of attention on the ice, but he does seem to skate the puck to the top of the circle and let the quick shot go like last season. Not sure if it is all the attention, the lack of "NHL" talent he had last season, wrist injuries, or a combo. But hopefully he starts scoring again and quickly. As for the passes, this has been another very noticeable difference from last season. There seems to be a ton of no look, bouncing passes, that are just chipped away this year. A big lack of crisp tape to tape passes like we saw last year. Almost like players don't know where their line mates will be. Something that I though would have improved over the course of the season, but there still seems to be some continuity issues. Probably won't be seeing the tic-tac-tic-tac-tic-tac-toe type goals this season.

Love how much more "quality" depth this team has developed. Really hope Zimmerman is as solid as described, because having a competent backup makes me so much more comfortable about this team's potential.

The great thing about UND hockey, is even now, when we appear to be in a crazy downward spiral, I still look forward to Friday and Saturday nights. Maybe its the hockey, maybe it is drinking a few beers, maybe its both, maybe it is the break from every day life .... Always look forward to UND hockey though. Downward spiral may not be the right term. This team is actually playing much better as of late, but can not seem to get the win. Total domination with plenty of grade A chances against Western on Saturday. Seems like we keep running into the hot goalies as of late. Just hoping this weekend finally turns a corner. Given our results the past month, I certainly don't expect us to win the next 4, but if we do then I like our chances for the NCAA tourney. Otherwise we may need to have some success in the NCHC playoffs and likely the NCHC tourney.
