  1. I wonder how frustrating it will be this winter, when he is sitting in New Town, and could be in Frisco. Good luck to him.
  2. Well, there is the official word from Miller regarding Grady. Glad the questions and rumors can all stop swirling now .... until next spring jk, he gone
  3. Right, wasn't trying to imply that Blair wasn't putting in the work in the weight room. Just think he could be a really solid player for us if he would pack on some more pounds. Easier said, than done though.
  4. Bennett had tweeted out that he had gained 20 pounds since last season, which I expected would have put him in the 250 range, but I guess not. Are we sure that those weights are all updated? I do recall seeing that Blackwell was gone, but I though Dulin was going to give it a shot at CB. Anyone know where he went? Wanzek is great news, as he has great hands, but can now hopefully be a little more physical. Haas, I hope he lives up to some of this hype. looking forward to see what he can do. Blair needs to get going with the weight. Not that it is easy to do, its not, but he needs some size.
  5. Yeah, I'll go out on a limb and say this was put together before he didn't show up.
  6. Any idea if these guys are Walk Ons or Scolly?
  7. Why isn't he on the 2 deep? Kid must still have like 10 years of eligibility.
  8. I would have to think between Mckinney or Griebel, one of them would be able to work into the spot.
  9. Believe he quit before he started.
  10. Yep, at this point, my biggest concern is to see these guys get out of fall camp without any more injuries. Stay healthy boys!
  11. Actually, I think most people are fine with it. Seemed more to be a building level of curiosity as to what was going on; excitement he was coming back, then rumors, then he is a no show. More irritating and frustrating than anything to have a kid with potential give up on his second chance, and you have to imagine it burns the the coaches a bit. Regardless, we have some big young talent ready to step in. Going to be fun. I think the O line will be better this year, and really primed for next year, when 2 of our studs are seniors. Anyone know what the story is with Helgren? Sounded like a big get out of HS, then it sounded like he was injured last year; is he good to go? Started hearing some good things about Nguon last year too, any word on how he was in Spring football? Tobin seem to be the hot name right now out of the young guys. 53 Grant Aplin OL 6-1 300 Jr. Victoria, Minn. (Chanhassen High School) 61 Brandon Miller OL 6-5 315 Sr. Waterford, Wis. 12. Makes sense, I hadn't thought about that. Still strange how this all transpired. Disappointing, but the O-Line will still should look improved over last year. I'm more disappoint about the Harris loss than Grady, but whatever. Can't wait to see which freshman step up on D, and how some of the new additions look on O.
  13. Also surprising given some of what I saw on twitter. Sounded like he had impressed some folks.
  14. I would be baffled if he went to Minot State to play football. What would the point be? If he supposedly is dealing with personal issues, then what is the difference between committing to football in Minot or Grand Forks? Either way, it takes time, effort and commitment. I'm sure the kid is going through things, and I wouldn't want to second guess that. But, it also sounds like he just isn't that motivated by football to want to commit to the time and work. And if that is the case, that is fine too, college sports are not for everyone. I considered sports in college and then decided it wasn't for me either. So long as he understands most kids don't get a second chance, and there won't be a third.
  15. Wish they would play a few other UND games on replay.
  16. Ton of potential but had had some personal stuff to handle. Left the team last year and a lot of people were hyped about him announcing his return this season. Now looking like he won't be back. Didn't have him last season, so can't say he will be missed, but would have been nice to have. big, strong, tough, was a boxing champ. want to see something funny, good his HS hudl tape.. I believe it made an appearance on deadspin because it was kind of funny to see him run over people. edit: http://deadspin.com/watch-a-giant-high-school-football-player-dominate-his-1683997196
  17. So what is the new OL two deep? Go!
  18. I hear ya. Bottom line, there should be more depth at the position. This year, and over the next few. Any yes, nothing wrong with a mom coming to her kid's defense. But hopefully it is not something where we see the same thing happening twice. I'm sure more will coming out over the next few day, but I don't think the full story or scope of what the kid is dealing with will come out on a message board unless he put it here himself.
  19. I'm just going to float something out there regarding the Grady situation. Sounds like the coaches are not saying much at this point, and maybe that is because they don't know yet. Is it possible, that after taking the year off, UND is waiting to hear back on if Grady is NCAA eligible with grades, courses, credits? I hope he is back, and a strong piece of the team, but I'm not sure I can take the Grady Watch for another few years. haha.
  20. Not sure how much Tom knows for sure about Grady at this point, but per twitter: Tom Miller @tommillergf We'll see Thursday, but the signs aren't good. Tom Miller @tommillergf The door must still be slightly opened, although closing quickly.
  21. works for me, I never heard the story, so I didn't know he left the University as well as the football team. For some reason I was thinking this was his 3rd shot, but again I haven't followed that close. Should be a nice addition to special teams though.
  22. If I remember right, Meindel was up there statistically as one of the top 2 or 3 punters for a while in 2016.
  23. So who punts, Meindel or Dussold?
  24. Mitch Meindel has joined the team .... again. Kind of surprising, as I believe he has been dismissed twice (could be wrong though). Not sure what the heck he ever did, but that makes a great competition at punter. Dussold did a nice job last year, but Meindel could completely flip the field the year before.
