  1. I understand why hockey fans would not want to accept an affiliate B1G membership, but I still think it would have to be considered and maybe ultimately taken. Again, who are your peer institutions? LEAD on this, dont follow, and be the reason how and why the B1G Hockey conference gets 'fixed'. Hell, even demand some concessions to come over and say "take it or leave it". I get the arguments on the cons, with game schedules etc, but I think as a whole it could potentially be a good thing. Again, it's debatable. However, there is literally ZERO debate if you get a full membership offer for the B1G. I can't believe that is even a discussion. You take it and RUN and laugh hysterically because you are in the P5 and can be a LEADER in fixing the college hockey problems in the B1G. This fanbase can do it and make it better. Give ourselves more credit. But again I digress, as the odds of B1G full membership happening are slim and none.
  2. Carson Wentz is a fantastic QB and a North Dakota kid who will be a 1st round draft pick. Wish we would have landed him out of high school. Doesn't mean myself or anyone has to cheer for him just because he's from ND. Kind of like cheering for ndsu athletics right? Just something I don't do, sorry. I don't wish him ill-will and I think he will do just fine, but just because it's good for ndsu, doesnt mean it has to be good for UND too. In fact, it's NOT good for UND. It has nothing to do with "butthurt". It has everything to do with my loyalty and pride to UND. Hope you can respect that?
  3. Another great "set" by Jones out of a timeout with 10.7 to play.
  4. Wow, shocking on markert. I know we were recruiting him as an OL.
  5. Yes, Randolph is being recruited as a safety. However, in a pinch I think he could jump over to the other side and play QB if neccessary.
  6. Randolph has apparently decommitted from Army, per his twitter.
  7. I'm hearing Blair is only 250ish still. He has a LONG way to go before he can hold up in the trenches. He needs 40 more pounds still in my opinion.....minimum. Hopefully he is able to put it on. He might have to be a blocking TE in running personnel groupings until that happens.
  8. You are correct. The team's success will be dictated by the progression or lackthereof up front on offense, more than it normally would. I feel so much better about the rest of the team overall than I have in a while, but offensive line play will make or break the success of the team next season. There is a TON of work to do there right now. I hope everyone is ready to step up. Here's my list of importance regarding improving and developing over spring and fall ball: 1. OL 2. CB (time for Deion and Tyus to make the jump) 3. ILB 4. Safety (opposite of Cole, will Arnell be ready?) 5. QB (in the event of an injury, is Heidlebaugh ready to step up?) USD will be a handful next fall.
  9. Bend, feet, athleticism. I'd be shocked if he's not being recruited as an OL. Just my opinion. Take it at face value.
  10. Markert has to be an OL project. He cannot play DL.
  11. They didn't ignore, but they certainly dicked around with it long enough to allow the Big Sky to get their foot in the door. If the Summit/MVFC had proactive leadership, they probably would have locked up UND before the Big Sky came in. It makes perfect sense. Baseball affiliate or otherwise, it still would have been and still is in the Summit/MVFC best interest to go after UND and strengthen themselves long term in the name of self-preservation, especially from a geographic standpoint/travel partnership. Douple's idiocy and Patty's lack of vision prevented that though. Don't you agree that instead of speculation about going after a Division 2 Mankato, the easiest problem-solving measure to secure the future of the leagues is to go after UND instead? All propaganda aside? I know I'm asking a lot here, but I'm trying to give it a chance.
  12. We are not recruiting him.
  13. Seems like solid logic at face value. Until you remember that The Summit/MVFC failed to do what was in their best interests and self-preservation of their league long-term with a school about 70 miles north of 94 on I-29 when the opportunity presented itself. Instead of being proactive, they have shown a history of reactive leadership style. Ask Summit baseball. Close call there. So now, from a business standpoint, your once logical comment has lost its sensibility relative to what is being discussed here regarding Mankato. We will see if anything has changed.
  14. Disengenuous? Cmon... Nobody is making this stuff up out of thin air. When a coach stops to talk to another coach at the handshake to say a few words, you give them that courtesy, Deciure, Jacobson or otherwise. If you dont like what they are saying, then by all means move along. He never even game him a chance. Again, this is not a one-time occurrence. Ask Ben Jacobson, the UND alum who was coaching Brian Jones' alma mater and was kind enough to schedule UND at the Betty. This is not isolated. Just an example. Some believe this behavior is acceptable. Others do not. For what it's worth, I went back and watched it again to make sure I wasn't making stuff up in my imagination. We havent even begun to talk about the on the court stuff. Montana finished the game on a 10-0 run. We all know how the 2nd half of the ndsu game went. I respect your difference of opinion, but disengenuous? I'll give you the last word on this debate, if you want it.
  15. But it isn't 'supposed'....it's been there, always has. Your point on winning certainly makes sense, I agree. It would be more tolerable, not celebrated. Why is there blood in the water? It's self-inflicted, no?
  16. Jones lack of professionalism and class has been a trend, not an anomaly. He did this exact same thing to, of all people, Ben Jacobson. Just 2 recent examples. Outside of his fly-by handshakes, his demeanor overall on the sideline has been and is embarrassing. If he didn't have a track record of this behavior, I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in this most recent situation. Growing up and watching the Dave Gunther and Rich Glas coached teams at UND, regardless of the talent or product on the floor on a nightly basis, you would have never seen either of those 2 act that way towards an opposing coach, much less a highly-regarded alum. I dont for a second blame a coach for being sour about getting throttled at home like he did against UNI - he should be upset. However, it's on the coach to not allow that to happen and furthermore, a leader in his position needs to be able to gather himself for a professional handshake, especially for a guy like Jake. Also, his overall demeanor, body language, facial expressions and antics at courtside no doubt are contagious and rub off on the players. Very poor optics for a leader, especially given the record. I know others disagree, but I guess I'm disappointed that this behavior is being defended and somehow seen as acceptable. It would be one thing if there was some sort of dirty altercation between the players and/or coaches, but that has not been the case. The talent on this team is there. The only thing holding it back is its leadership. It has been a detriment and will continue to be. Underachieving has been a staple for years now. The sample size is overwhelming. I just want this basketball program to be great again, in all aspects, from the top-down.
  17. Interesting, but not surprising. I'd also say that is pretty decent. As far as the relative importance to the landscape of college athletics overall, interesting to note the 635,000 viewers from the 2015 NCAA Hockey Championship Game in Boston between Boston University and Providence. Just goes to show how important getting your basketball team to the big dance is. It definitely has the biggest potential for exposure and viewership. Would be REALLY, REALLY nice to have our football, hockey and mens basketball teams all rolling at the same time to maximize the exposure for the flagship University of North Dakota. Can you imagine a FCS Football Championship Game appearance, Frozen Four appearance and Big Dance ticket all in the same year?
  18. Ok fine, I'm not saying you did specifically. But what is it that you want the apology for?
  19. Still cant figure out who needs to apologize to gfhockey and why. If anything, apologies should be made to Demon Taylor, Bryce Blair, John Santiago, Keaton Studsrud, et al or any other name that was speculated about in this thread that never had any intention of leaving.
  20. I'm sincere in asking which previous post of yours you are referring to that warrants an apology from some(one) here? Honest question.
  21. Have literally said the exact same thing to friends.
  22. +1000 I personally have learned a lot about some people in that regard over the last 3-4 years and have been disappointed.
  23. He's an NFL talent, no question. This one hurts. However, he seems to be doing it for a reason that is hard to argue with apparently. I wish Elijah the best and the door will be held open for him at UND, no doubt.
  24. K thanks!...
  25. Thank you GeauxSioux. That could not be stated better. 100% agree. So much truth there.
