  1. And in the distance you hear Hill yelling BULL****!!!!! Say, I know it is jinxing if you talk shutout before the final horn, but what about if you talk about hoping the other team scores? Kindof like the opposite of talking shutout? Would that be a reverse jinx or would that just simply be another form of jinxing? Since I'm not superstitious, I wouldn't know. And on Schlossman's blog, the Walski lover is explaining how Eids' first three games means that he shouldn't have been playing this long.
  2. YAY EIDS!!!!!!
  3. Wow. Talk about seeing into the future as far as my broadcast is concerned. You posted this right after Frattin scored.
  4. There we go... Gregs for interference
  5. Well I'm wrong. Huh. They seemed to have been alternating penalty calls.
  6. Next penalty will be on UND. Rinkydink officiating.
  7. I would have preferred that he announced he was retiring effective immediately... I despise Brand, but he doesn't deserve cancer.
  8. If making the finals once and the playoffs a couple of times is what it takes to have "on-ice success" then that really typifies Minnesota professional sports. Mason and Green should sue their perspective teams for wrongful termination. Mason led the Gophers to bowl berths many times. I dont know nor care what the record is in those bowl games, but a bowl game is a bowl game regardless of the fact that there are 1000 of them. Green made the playoffs a few times with the Queens and even the NFC Championship one year. Why was he fired again? Why was the T-Wolves coach fired all those years back? Didn't Garnett get them to the playoffs and deep into the playoffs one year? As for the Twins, Gardy is safe. He's won the (weak) division number of times and even made it to the ALCS a time or two. Forget the fact that we'll be entering year 18 since the last World Series appearance. Gardy has an excuse in the fact that he had a cheap assed GM and owner. The T-Wolves coach was a victim of a retarded GM who happens to be able to star strike ownership and analysts. I mean, McHale is from Minnesota and he was great with the Celtics. Ergo, that means he's a great GM/coach/president. No... I don't see the Wild being able to beat any of their division's top tier teams unless Backstrom pulls a Dallas-era Belfour or the 1995 Brodeur and simply not allow any more than 1-2 goals per game. They have NO scoring and no offensively minded forwards want a piece of this system because they can't go out and just score. They have to play defense first.
  9. Heh... at least the fans here are more rational than the ones that post on Schlossman's blog. There's still a yahoo that is calling for Walski claiming that the only reason why Eids is playing is because he's drafted.
  10. On ice success? How? As for revenue, that's Minnesota for you. Unlike with football and baseball, hockey is the big fish in Minnesota. They'll show up to the games. It's a lot like UN Lincoln Husker football to a certain extent. They haven't been that good since 1995. However, everyone is rabid on them in Nebraska. They support their team. Same thing with Wild fans really. They may not like where their team is heading, but they're not going to stop showing up. And, for that, is one reason why I don't think they will change much. butts are in the seats, so why change things? Why spend more money on the team? I'd only be decreasing the profit margin.
  11. Hey, think of it this way: You are a member of a victimized minority. Nevermind the victimization is 40+ years in the past. Nevermind the world is very different than the world of their grandfathers and great grandfathers. You have an opportunity to "get back at the white man." You have an opportunity to push the majority around and dictate policy. The consequences of your actions are negligible to you (stuff like reputation in the eyes of the majority would decline). Would you do it? Please. These "advocates" are simply using this as a smokescreen to draw attention away from the fact that they'd rather ignore the true plight of the NA people...stuff like poverty, diabetes, alcoholism, unemployment, squalor, low graduation rate, etc. It's simply a way to push around the majority. They saw the opportunity and they're taking it thanks to a simpathetic idiot Brand and his cronies.
  12. I don't know about this. I'd like to know what the Wild would be like with JL and a different GM and "system." Having ownership that is said to be willing to spend for the "right" player should be tested. Bring in a GM who is willing to pull the trigger on big name players and test that claim.
  13. Miami is awful. Really, the only legit CCHA teams are Michigan and Notre Dame. Both are beatable (Michigan more than Notre Dame). I think, in the end, Notre Dame will be the last CCHA team standing.
  14. Why does everyone want to see Blake in a Wild jersey? First off, Blake and LeMaire would NOT get along. Blake wants to be an offensive force. Lemaire wants his forwards to be defensive stalwarts that can score. Not a good combo. Secondly, he'd be hated here. Because he MIGHT get half of the offensive output. If I were Jason, I'd tell my agent not to accept offers from the Wild. If I got traded to the Wild the first thing I'd do is demand a trade. The Wild are now in the worst possible position for a team to be in regarding free agents. No high quality player wants anything to do with them because they see Minnesota as an end to their game style. I say trade Gaborik for a few draft picks and a defenseman or defensive forward.
  15. This is why I suggested someone start this thread in the first place. I wanted to give the haters somewhere to go.
  16. Comon! It's easy! As far as UND is concerned, they'll find some wording or some funding transfer that they feel should have been made towards NA programs. Maybe they'll find some sort of way to complain towards UND's graduation practice to try and make it so that the mere admission of an NA student would guarantee graduation regardless of whatever happens. I don't know. Whatever it is, they'll find something. Once the victim mentality and the complaining way of life settles in, they can't walk away, even if they get their way.
  17. I hope that law student doesn't have any classes with Grijalva. From what I understand, there are a few alleged cases of that being held against students. How believable that really is, however, is questionable.
  18. I guess he sucks so good. Stafford got into a "sorta" fight. Eager jumped him after Stafford threw an elbow to Burish. Stafford forgot that Burish may wear red, but it isn't UW red.
  19. An interesting stat, and a telling one. USUALLY (there have been exceptions), the higher the round the prospect is picked, the less likely the player to go the college route. Of course, Toews was an exception. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe that, off the top of my head, the following UND and former UND players were drafted by some MJ team or another: Drew Stafford - Red Deer Jonathan Toews - Tri City Mario Lamoreaux - Red Deer (dunno if he was drafted, but he considered signing with them at one point) David Toews Travis Zajac? I'm not at all sure of Zajac, but I'm 99% positive about the rest.
  20. Dane said that two verballed on the spot and one called back... Yet no names were released. So, what makes a verbal official? Isn't saying to the coaches "Yeah, I'll come here" or whatever a verbal? Quick! Someone go get Dane to take some of whatever that stuff is that makes people tell the truth (I thought it was Sodium Pentathol, but I may be confusing it with a poison)! (just kidding... don't anyone dare!)
  21. Would he be playing if he was on another team or if his dad wasn't the coach? Yes. And you said why. He hustles and plays with a ton of grit. Is he cocky? Yeah. Does he have an attitude? Yup. Folks, like him or hate him, I really think Lucia is Minnesota's answer to Kaip or Prpich. And, no, it makes little difference to his attitude off the ice.
  22. Who knows on Nolan. Part of me is saying that it is telling that a Zajac headed out east and we got Davidson instead. Something tells me if we asked that of Kelly(?) Zajac, he would have...
  23. I agree. Let it rest.
  24. MTU plays the game style UND has had trouble with. SCSU, UMN, and BSU all have tried to play an up and down game style. They tried that against us and lost. CC tried to do it on Friday. They lost. If they play the trap, this team has trouble. We found that out at the GLI. Are we on a roll or is there something about the game style we play well against?
  25. There is a player on the Winnipeg Wild by the name of Brenden O'Donnell. He was the Manitoba AAA Hockey League Offensive POTM. He has 69 pots in 32 games (33g 36a). This is good for 2nd in the league in points to Michael St. Croix. Here's the stats for the league. The Winnipeg Wild website is currently down, though. Is this the same St. Croix the Sioux were interested in?
