I'm glad they took this regard towards officiating. Now, instead of the corruption being half assed, it's now whole assed. If you are going to throw everything in a gutter, don't stop there, dig a ditch. Everyone on USCHO is wondering what is going to be the plight of Hockey East. My response now is, give it time. the WCHA will become too dangerous for blue chip recruits and they'll start going MJs or HEA.

Not to piggy back too much, but let's look at basic facts: Gophers, the animal, is actually a rodent. Look it up. Second, Sue is a woman's name which insinuates something about our men's hockey team as well as it does a great dishonor to the Sioux name which we hold dear and honor every time we don our jerseys. Sue is derogatory. Rodents is just the genus that Gophers fall under. I have nothing against Gopher fans coming here and giving information about their team and discussing things in an informed, respectful manner, but if you are going to defame our name, then get lost.

MUCH MUCH closer than the 8 goal lead indicated, I'm sure. HOWEVER, a loss is a loss is a loss

I totally agree. Who here thought that, in January, honestly we'd be seeing UND playing in Columbus?

Why not both? I don't think it was tacky for the rest of the team to wear 28 on their helmet, but I think it is tacky for Paukovich to do so. No, he didn't intend to injure Bina, but he sure took his time to feel bad about it. And besides, hate the troll if you like, but Gwoz was the only one to actually care enough to contact Robbie Bina. I'm not convinced Paukovich is anything but a goon or a thug. However, time will factor that. I can't hold this terrible event against Denver University itself, or the other players of the team itself. I hold the league, Adam, Paukovich, and Gwozdecky responsible. What the rest of them do is really not relevant to the issue. This is my opinion.

Though there may be some truth to this, I think the committee was thinking of attendance when they put the East Regional together. With the exception of Mercyhurst, BU, BC, and UND all have histories playing each other. If BU would win, then there would be a popular BC/BU rematch. If UND won, BC/UND is a championship calibre showdown, a playoff rematch of the 2001 NC game. If it were for Mariucci's seating capacity being so much greater than everywhere else, I'd wonder if the East Regional didn't get the most attendance.

I agree 100%. Briggs wasn't really tested, though he did come through for the few times that Maine and Cornell did try to shoot the puck and it got past the defense. I thought the biggest two factors facing MInnesota coming into the NCAAs were heart and defense. I never questioned their offensive capabilities even without Hirsch and Goli. What I did question was their defense, which was rather porous during the final 5. They came through big time, IMO. In so doing, though, they seemed to have lost their offense. With the way Cornell was playing, I didn't think 2-1 would be the end score... more like... 5-1 UMN.

BUt the good news in all of this is that home ice advantage doesn't mean a lot in the NCAAs. It may have helped Minnesota, though probably not that much. It didn't help BU, BC, or Michigan, that's for sure.

The good news is that we are playing the Gophers, so we will surely get primetime.

Tallackson scores. They go crazy.

Minny looks like they woke up. Two straight great chances. Minny is going to win. EDIT: Thanks for the link. Refs help Minny out.

Don't care. We can beat anyone right now.

You and me both! JPAR for Hobey in 2006!

They talked about Robbie A LOT this weekend. Especially Travis Roy. I think that was the first thing he said on the mic after I'm doing fine. It's nice to see all of this support.

I'm confused. This is, I assume, a recap of the BU contest, but I see some things mixing in from the BC game. First off, the Rooney holding the stick call was during the BC game. He was holding Stafford's stick and everyone (including me) thought Stafford was going to go. (Unrelated note: Drew, buddy you're a great hockey player and I know about the tradition and all, but dude, your beard is UGLY. Think Schneider's trucker's moustache... that looked better than your beard. Think about it. ) Second off, I was far too hard on the commentating crew. I was able to get ahold of myself after the BU game and today, I realized that we had the best pair by far. ANyone know who's doing the frozen four? Third, Radke was playing as the #6 defensemen. When he's done that, he has generally played 1-2 shifts and sat out the rest of the time. Personally, I think that sucks. It's not really fair to Kyle and he's not going to get much out of it. SParingly played players don't have time to adapt to the speed and style of play. Hence, it's not uncommon for them to make mistakes. Besides, when they know that they're going to be benched if they make a mistake and/or after the shift they do get to go out on, some players will only play to not make a mistake instead of playing hard and trying to make things happen. Clement and Thorne stated that most of our rushes start with Nick Fuher or a forward because our defensive defensemen aren't really tuned into the offensive mindset. THough I may not entirely agree, it was apparent during the playoffs. Radke, IMO, could be another Fuher if given the chance. End rant on this. I think the Sioux did indeed coast once during the BC game. That was on the powerplay in the third period. The result? A Spina SHG. I thought Spina was cherry picking, but upon the replay, Spina actually saw BC going to take possession and broke. A long cross ice pass later, and he was in all alone. We should have been sharper and intercepted that pass. I thought I heard Fylling a lot over the past two games. He did spring one of the goals.. can't remember which one, during the BU game. He played well. Marvin, is a role playing forward. He did his job that that's it. Those kinds of players don't really stick out unless the commentators make a point to find them.
