Never will happen. GA means they cannot control what is going on. What they should do is a modified lottery. Seniors and Juniors get first crack at lower bowl seats. Freshmen and Sophomores can pay their dues in the upper bowl.

This interview is kindof old as it was more than likely filmed before he had committed to UND. The one with Kozek in it talks about UND. Also, Kozek gets a passing mention in another interview with Mike-Lee K(something) who is a goaltender that is heading to MTU. He makes a point of watching how Kozek plays. Having goaltenders study you, even in juniors, is a good thing.

The main problem with this whole swearing thing is simple logistics. Two seasons ago, when the "sanctions" were put into place, they were thrust upon a set of fans towards the end of the season. It was working, IMO. Then, last season comes around and suddenly, the swearing and standing returns. Now the school is wondering why the students are so poorly behaved? Well, when you get one group of students to agree to the sanctions you cannot expect a DIFFERENT group to pick up where they left off. To my knowledge, not many of those students who are aware and follow the rules (those who were season ticket holders two seasons ago now) had season tickets last season. So, now we are going to be punished for what a seperate group did for disregarding what they taught the first group. Incompetance.

If that is the case, what will that make Zach Jones? Didn't Zach Parise play with the U-17 NTDP team?

Apart from getting the Engelstads involved into this, I think this fan and Kupchella may finally have the leverage they need. Why? Because the students always had a buffer in Roger Thomas to hold the UND line without doing it too much too quickly to the students. Now that Roger and Dean are gone, the buffers aren't there. Hakstol doesn't have "tenure" enough right now to buck the system like Dean could have. What could very well happen is that the students could be removed entirely from the lower bowl. Under NCAA rules, they cannot completely remove the students from the arena. It does not say how many seats have to be given to the students, however.

I'm pretty sure that Toews, with the letter of intent, signed away his opportunity to play on the World Junior team for Canada. The MJ leagues have a good influence over Team Canada, IMO. I'm sure he'll still try out for it, but I'd be very surprised if he did. And no, don't look for Tri City to back off until he's 21 years old. We're not out of the woods yet.

Does anyone have attendance figures for the FF in Anaheim? IIRC it wasn't very good and the weather is substantially warmer than MN, ND, MI, NY, and Mass.

I think Miami would be just as good as Anaheim for the Frozen Four. Nobody would show.

THe one thing I will say now is that, regardless of what happens next year, I think we'll know the quality of coaching staff we have after this season and know that, before we judge, we should wait until the end. .500 record half way through the season to ending up runner up in the NC game. Wow.

Good for them. I am hoping that Utah can be a stepping stone to a better pro league such as the ECHL or maybe even the AHL for Nick Fuher.

Bored and tooling around. I wanted to tool around and give a few prospects from the AJHL, but their website kinda sucks. But here is the BCHL candidate I found. My criteria was that he be the high in scoring, 19 years old or younger, and consistant from year to year (if possible). If I figure out where I can find others, I'll post them. It speaks nothing either way. Brandt could very well sign with some semi-pro or pro team after the school year is out. And Greene could still leave. Bochenski left after the school year ended, IIRC.

Beiswenger wouldn't be a bad option, but I don't know anything about him. Also, the goaltender from the FM Jets, Oklund, was an alternate for the U-18 team. May be a quick, cheap fix. I really don't think Hakstol should spend a ton of time on finding a 3rd string goaltender. Didn't realize that, but not surprised. I thought Finley was a senior.

What was funnier was the result of it getting stuck. Andy skates by, it gets stuck, and Andy doesn't let go. The result? Andy flies onto his backside. He's quickly back on his skates and tries to get the stick, but it won't come out. I laughed so hard. And, IIRC, it actually threw Woog and Masucko off their game for a while.

Genoway has a tryout with an AHL team. The others were probably making similar arrangements.
