157 in bracket scoring for my ranking. MUCH higher than I thought I'd be.

Thanks Tommiejo. And you got your wish on the Gators bid.
-
I did. That's a real fan right there. Not afraid to cry win or lose It was a real emotional night.

I think the key to the game was passing. Cornell couldn't pass to save their lives and it really showed until everyone was too tired to care. Thats only when Cornell got some real chances. Wisconsin won, but the way they were playing all game long, it shouldn't have taken OT IMO.

He's still on the team? I thought he was with the Devils
-
He accelerated his schooling and graduated early. I have no idea how one goes about doing that, but he's one of two "freshmen" on the Sioux (Joe Finley is the other) who has done this. Another player who did it was Drew Stafford.

Heh. Chose BU over BC. I don't like what I saw in the UW BSU game. A lot of easily falling guys on the ice. I also am not surprised by the outcome of the Cornell game. CC scored two right away and then coasted the rest of the game. Really sad that the game winner comes to a guy who hasn't scored a goal all season long. BC/BU game: How much do you suck when you let in 2 shorties IN THE SAME PERIOD!!!! I guess they could have let in three, or they could have let both in during the same penalty... In any case, BC won because BU didn't show up to play at all. BC's first goal was just flat out unbelievable (the old, I don't need it, just take it and score routine). The Second goal was a breakaway. Third and Fourth goals were short handed (the fourth one was knocked in by Max Strang of BU) and the fifth didn't matter in the least because BU had already packed it in. Seriously, I thought this game looked like a first round game between, oh... Wisconsin and Bemidji. Not a game that would decide whether or not either team would make the Frozen Four. BU Hockey: I thought the game started on Sunday!!! Well, it's going to be UW vs. Cornell: I hope UW wins because I'd love to listen to Schaffer (Cornell's head coach) whine some more. I'd love Cornell to win because I'd rather see Cornell vs Michigan State/Maine in the Frozen Four. No, it's not because I don't like UW (even though they dive an awful lot). It's because I just think they have a real chance to get in the way of UND's 8th if we get past BC.

I am writing here to congratulate Fox Sports North for the preempting of the Cornell-CC game and the tape delay of the Sioux game just so that we can watch the all important Minnesota Wild lose 5-1 to the SJ Sharks. I thought this was a pivotal matchup, with the Wild trying desperately to gain ground (a futile and meaningless attempt I might add) on a playoff berth that was totally worthy of missing out on an upset and a regional frozen four qualifier game. I hope the Woog-based programming model is working out for you.

Email sent. Anyways, my thoughts on the game: Forwards: Wow were they buzzing in the first period and parts of the second and third. A little bit of a let down in the second and our D got tested. Oshie was amazing tonight. The NCAA blowhards were very complimentary of him. Toews is an INCREDIBLE passer, but he passes too much! He had a shot at a second goal but instead he tried to pass it and it was broken up. Stafford did a good job and Zajac was very good including the tip in for the goal. 4 power play goals tonight and 1 five on five. Our power play has really come into the zone in the post season. We need to keep it up. Watkins, Kaip, and Porter really played well. To be honest, I was hoping Prpich would get a point. He was all over the place all game long though. Defense: Smaby, you ROCK THE D@MN HOUSE BABY!!!! Some HUUUUGE hits and a GOAL!!! You rock. Radke, Jones, and Chorney looked solid out there. Lee was steady as he goes. I think he did pretty well tonight. I don't remember who turned over the puck for the first Holy Cross goal, I hope it wasn't Lee, but we recovered pretty well after that. Jones' first penalty was a bad call. His second penalty was the second dumbest penalty of the night after Kaip's penalty. Goaltending: Jordan left the net too far once and it cost us. Yeah, it was flukey, but still, I think it could have been avoided. However, he's still quite solid. I'm digging his play right now. Coaching: 2 Frozen Fours in 2 years as Head Coach. Any more questions about Hakstol? Yeah, I thought not. Even though they lost tonight, I can't help but REALLY appreciate Holy Cross as a team and a program. Coach Pearl is classy. Their players played with such heart and determination. I admire that program greatly and wish them the best in what will surely be a reloading year for them next year (They lose 7 players including Quesada, the goaltender). Hats off to the true Cinderella team of the 2006 NCAA Regional Tournement. Now we're off to play a Boston College team that is younger than we are, has the same amount of momentum we have, and has yet to allow a goal in this Tournement. I am confident that, if we get past Boston College we'll have a really good shot at #8. However, I think we're going to be in for something in Milwaukee. Let's go give it our best shot to open up April and let's keep this good season going!

You take what you can get. There wasn't a whole lot of positives for Michigan in that game.
-
NCAA blowhards so not into the game that they have Brian Elliott doing moose calls instead of paying attention to the games. Let's face it: I'd rather have Masucko and Woog calling the games than these blowhards. At least Woog gives a damn about what's going on in the game.
-
First thing is, no it's not unlike me. I tend to speak with my heart rather than with google.com on my side. Secondly, I don't look at hockey players in the same regard that you do.
-
It is interesting to see the NCAA blowhards projecting where UW will end up judging by how they're playing against the 16th seed in the tourney. They look good, but, in all fairness, this isn't the BSU team that beat WCHA teams at the beginning of the season. They look tired and that, even at full speed, they're at least one step behind UW.

I know it does, but when I was in the band, we deserved it. In 2002-2003, the REA started piping in more music rather than letting the band play. I will say up front that it isn't fair to think of the band now as the same one of 3 years ago. They are worlds better than they were and I hope they get even better. I'll go back and delete my posts.

No offense Gopher fans, but Michigan's M looks nicer than MInnesota's M. Same thing for jerseys, helmets, and school colors.
-
I'm really wound up today for some dumb reason.... Looking at things more rationally, UW is all over BSU and Sedevie is carrying the team right now, otherwise it would be 40-0 Badgers. BSU has something like 6 shots on goal for the game so far. Big time UW fan following in Green Bay too. I hope BSU can at least score one goal. Nice dive by Earl though... bit his lip on the fall and tried to convince Shegos to call a 5 minute major.
-
Yeah, I admit that most of my dislike comes from the attitudes of fellow bandmates and Brooks at the time I was with the band and the 2002-2003 season where they sounded terrible. I said I'll let it drop and I will.
-
If I were in the Twin Cities, I'd head there. I'd like to meet you. Alas, I'm 254 miles from Sensors and 85 miles from the Ralph... Doing simple math, I'd rather drive an hour than 3.
-
Yeah, I did have an axe to grind with the band when I was in it, but that's not why I said what I said. There's something unbelievable about a band that is really tight like MIchigan's band was. I know it wasn't too flattering to our band (even if we have the cowbell dude). They have improved quite a bit over the last few years, I can't argue that. Oh well, I'll let it rest.
-
I agree. That's why if Carle wins the Hobey, it's no upset. Same thing if Ryan wins. If Collins from HE wins........ THAT is an upset.
-
Fox Sports North - Where Minnesota Comes First. That's their slogan and they're sticking to it. If this was UND vs. MInnesota, they'd tape delay the Wild Game no doubt as the Wild suck and aren't going anywhere. Minnesota is out, so they have no such allegiance to the NCAAs any longer.
-
I'm trying to get to the game tonight. No Guarantees. I couldn't make it last night even if I tried... well, after the Gopher game went OT, I probably could have made it but who plans for OT? In any case, I'll be there if I can make it. If I can't, then I will watch on my folks' 42 inch LCD HDTV

Yeah, those last 90 seconds did concern me quite a bit.

He's been secretly rooting for the Sioux since he found this site. It's just saying that because he doesn't want to jinx us.

Sorry, I don't have a link, but there was a blurb in the Fargo Forum this morning talking about Stafford's injury. He wears a knee brace similar to what Brady Murray wore. He said that he still feels it. So, it's obvious to me that Stafford is playing injured. I'm not good at prognostication (just look at my Pick'Em picks), but I definitely think that Drew isn't at 100% (though he's playing like it) and there is a chance that he could bow out sometime before the end of the season due to it. This injury is worse than it appears. But, don't take my word for it. Sicatoka- What do I think about your question? If I were Holy Cross, I'd come out roaring and playing the best game I know how to play, but at the same time have no expectations whatsoever. No expectations = No pressure. Holy Cross' main two strengths are experience (very junior and senior laden team) and character. They've already reached farther than anyone thought they could make. Oh, they're not going to roll over, but I doubt you'll see the level of disappointment on their faces that we saw on the Gopher faces if they do fall to the Sioux. If I were Coach Pearl, I'd coach for the upset and preach going out and having fun. Keep it light and relaxed.
