  1. TUned into the UNO vs tOSU game and found the most boring hockey announcer possibly ever in Siddoruk (sp?). The guy seems totally disinterested. EDIT: I am not sure who I want to win the DU/UMN tilt, but I would really like to see UMN score 2 goals. It would help my chances at the jersey a lot.
  2. Shepherd won't be accused of home cooking tonight. Seriously.
  3. This is going to get ugly. Manino ran twice and no calls.
  4. Gosh, let the list of lovely ladies begin! Personally, though, I'm obsessed with good looking women of all walks of life (provided, of course, they are legal).
  5. It was dead for 4 hours... until you posted.
  6. If it was said sarcastically, I'd actually find that humorous.
  7. I wonder if it wouldn't be in the best interest for this series to split? It would give the impression that the CCHA is much stronger than they really are... Seriously, I'm not scare of either of these teams.
  8. Would that be considered a brawl? I'd probably term it a "skirmish" or perhaps a "battle" or even a "hand to hand engagement."
  9. Comon! You were ambitious enough to compile this list! You're.... 1/100th of the way there!
  10. I have 5 large riding on.... No, I'm not caring. Although I know the feeling. I watched the Army vs. Air Force hockey game. SNOOOOOZEFEST! Re: Turris - Wouldn't be surprised either. For a one year stopover, I actually think UW was a good choice for Turris. He knows he's good offensively. At UW, he can forget about offense and concentrate on UW's one trick pony: defense.
  11. I hope UMN lights up DU tonight. Lasch has done well this weekend and UW defense escapes the weekend having only given up 2 goals in 2 games.... Or does both games not count? As I relook over the ballots, I think we're in for a huge tie. At least 4 of us have the same ballot and if DU only gives up one goal tonight, then that adds to the "hat." I suck at random chance type games like the lottery or getting my name picked from a hat.
  12. Yup. Masucko is an idiot and a tool to boot. I can't believe he wrote for USCHO. Must have been while they were desperate for staff writers. I guess what I'd really like to see is a TV commentator team between two rivals in which the commentators were split half and half with homers. So, for example, Sweeney with Woog. That would be entertaining. OF course, Woog knows more about hockey than Sweeney, and Sweeney is no more a homer than Masucko, but at least it would be entertaining.
  13. Just today Dubay and his guest said how the Islanders don't score a lot of goals and played a boring style of hockey., which works towards Minnesota's advantage. I basically said "WHAT?!?!" Because, as we all know, that's exactly Minnesota's game style. Minnesota reminds me a LOT of the DU and UW National Championship teams. They sometimes get scoring, but they are mostly drag the game through the mud boring hockey games that rely on mistakes by the other team for scoring rather than creating offense. So, Minnesota will be playing a Minnesota clone tonight. However, I'd say that defensively, Minnesota is better than the Isles so I'd be very surprised if the Wild didn't win tonight. By the way, there is talk that the Mild want to get Sundin. However, they may trade Rolston or Demitra for him. Now, why trade a goal scorer for a goal scorer? Why not trade something your minors have a plethora of, such as role players and 3rd line grinders or perhaps defensemen, and get scoring help? Well, ok ok, I know about the free agency thing, but gosh... Sundin might actually add credibility to the second line rather than just Gaborik and then a drop off.
  14. Do you think Hakstol would actively recruit a 14 or 15 year old hockey player? I thought 16 was their first opportunity to be recruited by NCAA coaches. Sure, you get players who decide to commit early like Mueller, Clarke, and a bevy of CCHA future disappointments, but that's not the norm. Hak recruits players who are juniors in high school or older. If someone else who is younger wishes to contact Hakstol, then that's their business.
  15. I agree with regards to Puffy. He's just building listenership by saying stupid things that homers and rube for the Gophers will agree with or dismiss easily but will succeed in riling up fans of other teams. It's the same way with Forum idiot McFeely. What gets me, though I largely stay out of it, is the overall feeling that the Gophers weren't at fault or even "less wrong" than the Sioux when Lucia, Peltier, and Carman had their moments that most were overlooked (Lucia's being the sole exception) while UND's Zajac and Finley are wrung through the ringer. Oh, I agree Finley and Zajac acted rather embarrasingly for the Sioux. RJ's attempt was just that, an attempt. Zajac's role was unnecessary. I don't know what Wheeler said to Finley in the handshake line, but all Joe had to say is "Good game. Say what you will but we took more points from you than you did from us." Point at the scoreboard, and skate away. I'm still surprised Finley didn't get anything against him by the WCHA or NCAA. But I am surprised that Peltier got away with punching Trupp 3 or 4 times to the head while Trupp was down and his arms pinned so he couldn't even block the punches and got off with a two minute minor. If UND gooned it up, then surely so did UMN. I guess the only difference would be that Peltier decided to cheap shot Trupp to his face whereas Zajac didn't wait for RJ to turn around. If I were Shepherd, I'd take these actions: 1. Zajac gets a 1 game suspension for his cross check to the back (plus the game DQ for fighting) 2. Peltier gets a 1 game suspension for fighting or excessive contact to the head after the whistle (this may not be a rule I'm citing, but he was punching a guy to the facemask. That's a no no period.) 3. Lucia gets a 1 game suspension for fighting. 4. Don Adam is no longer allowed to officiate major rivalry games (UMN vs UW, UMN vs. UND, CC vs. DU). 5. B. Shepherd gets a one weekend suspension without pay for grabbing Malone by the facemask (HAHAHAHA! Like Daddy could suspend sonnyboy)
  16. What if he ate them?
  17. Wrong. I think Jones' margin for error is bigger than you think. Finley may have the best +/-, but Jones has been burned a lot less. I think Finley improves with every game and, comparing Joe to the freshman version, Finley is an entirely different player. However, Jones is rock solid defensively and is one of the reasons why UND's defense is so solid. I find it laughable that the judgment of defensemen comes in offense. Smaby wasn't all that successful offensively until his junior year. Commodore as well. Greene? His offense was so legendary that the biggest joke his final season with the Sioux was calling him a "sniper." I'm not sold on Marto really yet. LaPoint has contributed offensively but even he has shown some lackings defensively at times. In either case, unless Jones starts costing the Sioux games (taking bad penalties, getting burned a lot, not showing up at practice or in games defensively), I don't see Zach being benched.
  18. Sorry hrkac. Editted.
  19. riders06... you disappoint me because you didn't even finish reading the statement. Reread it and this time include the parentheses. Then make judgment. Ok, ok, I'll break it down for you. Wheeler on the Gophers has the same role Toews had for the Sioux. That of the playmaker who can score. Toews' play allowed Duncan and Oshie to score a ton and Toews was no slouch for finding the back of the twine either. The ROLE is the same. The TALENT is different.
  20. Uh... here's some vital differences for you: 1. Very few of us think that the punishment is too harsh. 2. Stealing a sweater....flipping the bird... Hmm... I don't get arrested for flipping someone off. You certainly do if you steal a sweater. Just sayin'. 3. Breaking a window with a foot... again... illegal. 4. What the EFF is a "nukker?" Or is that something that you NDSU fans like to yell at UND players like that one person at the NDSU vs UND basketball game a few years back in Fargo? 5. Try to make a point with salient facts. That means, counter it with disciplinary examples NDSU has done that is NOT correlated with BREAKING THE EFING LAW. And by the way, I live in Fargo, and I can testify that not every NDSU fan is as blind and shallow as this guy.
  21. Yeah, but seriously, I'd love to be annoyed by a band like the MTU Hockey band. They are what UND's version wishes to be.
  22. Really, hermit, take it from someone who has said stupid things in the past: Not even I would spout off like you have, dude. Seriously? Implications of Hakstol's past? Indiscretions? What? The fact that Hak has had MANY opportunities to RIGHTFULLY send his players on the warpath and didnt makes no difference, huh? (Oh crap. Sioux-cia, I just joined you and being hostile and abusive because I used the term "warpath") Well, I have one thing to say: PROVE IT. It's put up or shut up time, buck-o. Hakstol's image took a blow, but he's done far less than some of the coaches revered in college athletics like Kelvin (?) Sampson of IU, Hayes or Haynes or something like that, Bear Bryant, Bob Knight (why is it that I can think of basketball coaches?), whatshisface from Cincinnati that didn't care at all if his players ever went to class, and the list goes on. He flipped the bird at Don Adam! HOLY CRAP! You'd think Hakstol relieved himself in the Holy Water at the Vatican the way some of you are judging him from on high.
  23. I'd like to agree with you, but not because it's the fad of the day.
