I'm hoping for a win. Expecting a tie. UMD has been playing extremely well. It may cost us. They've had far more scoring chances than we have had all game long. UND can win it but they'll have to play better.

Whatever. Doesn't matter. The point is: I still am in favor of playing LaPoint. I think he's great even if he is a bit underweight. I like Marto. I like platooning. I trust Hak. Period. I'll never throw Derek aside.

UMD still playing like they're up a goal. They're certainly playing well.

Nothing like a screwup by UMD to get us back in the game. We were out of it otherwise.

If only the mistakes being made by the producer were being made by UMD, UND would be back in the game. Camera work not as bad as UMN/UAA but not great.

He definitely could use bulking up. He is also getting just what he needs to remedy his mistakes: Playing time. He also has the faith of Hakstol and Co. For those two things, I unwaveringly support Derek and refuse to put up with the "Bench LaPoint" crap. Davidson/Forney/whomever. Point is still valid.

Well, I've seen LaPoint make his first major mistake so all week now we'll be hearing tons of "LaPoint sucks, play Marto" posts. Well, with Genoway out, maybe we'll here "Play Forney and Marto! Move Radke back to D!" Anyways, GO LAPOINT GO! I'm a fan of yours!

2nd Period wrap up: UMD OVerall grade: B+ UND OVerall grade: C UND managed to play a bit better this period. Still not very good. UMD is playing with desperation. Sweeney claims UND came prepared for that, but it certainly doesn't look like it to me. We are almost purely defensive in stature. We're not getting much offensive chances. It takes Miller to Radke to really test Stalock and Stalock makes a tremendous save. UND's PP has been atrocious all game long. UND's PK and goaltending have been outstanding, though. Third Period keys: SCORE SCORE SHOOT! Use the PP to take advantage of the man advantage. Don't let 4 players outplay your 5.

Nice save by Stalock. That's the best offensive outburst I've seen all game.

Not really. LaPoint, Martens, and Chorney's penalties were legit.

The longer this goes on, the better chance UMD has.

Here's my first period thoughts: UMD Overall Grade: B+ (A if they would have scored) UND Overall Grade: D- (F if UMD would have scored) UND had a 5 minute PP and didn't play like they were up a man until half the PP was over. They managed 5 SOG during that PP amazingly, but really only 1 maybe 2 were legit scoring chances. Pathetic. Martens' penalty was just Martens getting beat. I hope Genoway comes back. UMD came ready to play so far. UND came ready to watch UMD roll over. If things continue to go the way things are going, UND will be looking at the scoreboard wondering how to get back into the game. UMD WILL score. Thank goodness our D has been solid and JPL has been solid. Not impressed at all with our efforts up a man and in the UMD zone.

An easy PP goal at that.

It is somewhat amusing to see the #2 (maybe soon to be #1) ranked team in the nation currently second to the #3? team in the nation. And, to top it off, the #3? team in the nation holds the tiebreaker on the #2 (soon to be #1) team in the nation. It's kinda neat to see the #2 really be #1.
