  1. Isn't just amazing what happens if you just SHOOT THE F-ING PUCK!
  2. According to College Hockey Recruiting Exchange (see last comment on the page), UND has some interest already in a 1993 birthdate forward by the name of Michael St. Croix. There are no stats I can find, but he's listed pretty highly. http://collegehockeyrecruitexchange.blogsp...ist-of-93s.html
  3. Found the truck!
  4. Thanks Chris.
  5. Whatever happened to the SSM kid Farrell? He went from being one of the top goaltenders in his age group to obscurity it seems. I know he's not the next DiPietro or anything but.. Did he go major juniors? What happened to him?
  6. Stop agreeing with me! If you keep agreeing with me, I'll lose my rube credentials!
  7. Exactly. We're splitting hairs here. My ranking is just as good as the next person's. However, some are more biased towards previous perceptions (aka history, hype, draft position, etc.) than others. I do have a ranking but it changes EVERY game. Why? Because on some nights one guy is the best, on others someone else is. Last year, I'd say Chorney was our best defenseman. This year? Gosh, a good argument can be made for Genoway. What about history? Every year, Finley gets better and better and better. If this pace keeps up, and Finley returns for his senior year, Finley will undoubtedly be the best defenseman on the team, no offense to Genoway. Marto vs. LaPoint? They're FRESHMEN! I think both have upsides. Both have looked like freshmen this year too. Yes, I had pre-season expectations for these two and so far, LaPoint is right about where I expected him and Marto has exceeded my expectations (I didn't expect him to appear much on the ice this season). And really, when our offense has been so gal darned inconsistent and our powerplay so lethargic after a great start, why are we picking on one of the three top performing entities (goaltending and penalty kill being the other two) we've had this year?
  8. 1) Ah. My mistake. 2) Maybe. I haven't been to a Vikings game for a very very long time (IIRC I watched a Bears Vikes showdown in which Erik Kramer beat the Vikes... wasn't a remarkable game) so I don't know how well they travel. However, if you were to ask NFL gurus which fanbase is more rabid and better travelled between the Packers and the Vikings, I'd imagine the Packers would get the nod. As for intelligence, gosh, I can't imagine It is true that the Vikings have more to compete with than the Packers do. All Green Bay has is the Packers and UW-Green Bay is either a less-than-exhilarating DI or DII Basketball school (and bball sucks anyways). There are other NFL teams that compete with DI schools and other professional sports (NE Patriots, perhaps some of the California teams too) and do well. As for winning, I'm not sure anything has really changed. Wilf says he wants to win, but Childress is less than stellar (if not Mason-esque) and really this year is the second time that their first round draft pick has been legit and actually productive. Yeah, I know about Udeze and feel bad for him, but this team has so many holes in it that I still can't see them winning a weak ass NFC next season! But hey, maybe Wilf will surprise me. He'll give Childress this next season, fire him (or let him go) after this season, hire Cowher and continue drafting well. Who knows.
  9. Uh.... Take it from Woody Harrelson, my friend. White men can't jump.
  10. Slap Shot- I don't know, if you think about it differently, the Packer fan analogy may fit. UND hockey fans aren't like Minnesota Viking fans, that's for sure. Packer fans are rowdy, diehard, love their team through and through, and will do anything and go anywhere to watch their team play. They rejoice when the team wins and are depressed when the team loses. UND hockey fans also travel extremely well. There are alumni functions around hockey games all over the country (and some inquiries as to access to overseas fans as well). We rejoice when UND wins. We are bummed out when we lose. We have enjoyed throwing players under the bus (Brian Lee) just like Packer fans (Brett Favre). In some ways, it works. UW hockey fans are the paint thinner nation. UW Madison is one boring sports campus all around. And, I'll say it again, I miss PCM. You don't know what you've got until you lose it.
  11. How do you know? Maybe Goon's Russian?
  12. To which I restate: Since when does ESPN give a rats backside about hockey? It doesn't have to be ON ESPN. You just have to mention ESPN to know it is a joke.
  13. *pops jersey*
  14. I knew it was a hoax right away. The tell? ESPN. Since when does ESPN give a rats backside about hockey?
  15. You don't want to see what happens to the losing team.
  16. I heard he just sits around playing NHL 2k8
  17. I heard it is Sidney Crosby. Sid will then work on Mapletoft... (well, that joke's not really funny without PCM around )
  18. Nice catch. I completely misread the box score.
  19. He had one goal tonight. No points Friday night. Don't know about assists tonight. I think he has one assist tonight.
  20. I'm confused. Nodl gets 2goals and 2assists on the weekend. DU and UW tie for the fewest goals allowed this weekend. Maybe I missed Roe's third goal of the weekend?
  21. Gophers lose. I wonder how long Kangas' confidence lasts. I mean, this makes AT LEAST 4 straight games where he's the only Gopher player who cared enough to show up.
  22. Obsessed with Heidi Klum. Heidi is a girl no? I'm obsessed with plenty of good looking girls provided they are legal. I guess I'm having trouble spelling it out for you. Goon's gender is irrelevant.
  23. I'm back in the running!!!!!!!! 3-1 DU!
  24. No, that was Dubay who made that reference.
  25. Third time's a charm. Shepherd finally called a penalty for running the goaltender. And Rhett makes it 3-0. Comon Gophers! Score at least ONE goal! Otherwise, I lose the jersey!
