Anybody in the know: why is UND playing so much zone now? Their zone is really average, to say the least. Seemed to play much better man-to-man earlier in conference season and it appeared very sound.

Fair point. I want nothing more than UND Mens BB to make the tourney, trust me. But, I have also been vocal in my doubting of Jones coaching/leadership abilities. I would love to be proven wrong by seeing them in the dance.

Since Nagy made the NCAA tournament in his 4th year out of the transition, as it appears, and it's obvious that the comments in this thread were made to promote Jones vs. Nagy and their histories, UND should be putting on their dancing shoes Saturday night.

Also, how did SDSU get Daum? Kid is 6'9" with a huge wingspan, shoots 3's and has a full post game. Not the fastest kid in world but doesn't need to be.

You must be trying to relate it to UND/Jones somehow. I don't get it. The conversation is about SDSU making the tourney...to how long their coach has been there. Nobody gets fired after the transition to D1 basketball so what is your point?

What does that have to do with anything? Who has ever gotten fired once the transition was over?

Sounds like some people have already expressed their concern to Schafer over the abundance of "Vice Presidents" on campus. That would be a good start.

This is what makes me nervous, too. We have seen this show before. Outstanding goalie all year with excellent defense in front of him possibly skewing his greatness. Get to the Regional Final or Frozen Four and they give up 4-6 goals in the biggest game of the year. Why? Possibly because the goalies defense is now getting broken down by better skill players (BC-BU) or a different "system" (Yale?) and he can't consistently make the one-on-one save.

Interesting. Wonder what his buyout is for such a small school? Saw he was paid $147,000 per year. They have a beautiful basketball arena but obviously not much of a program.

Has nothing to do with that. The reason it works is because the offenders don't want to let down their teammates and feel shame watching them run. Now if the offenders don't give a sh-t about their teammates then it won't work. That will, however, shine through like a spotlight and they won't be on the team for very long anyway.

He has 100+ players on his roster. Jones has 15. And last years squad was the biggest bunch of misfits in the history of UND basketball.

Hoops, Here is the dealio. The masses don't like Jones and they aren't going to start now. The sooner you realize that the easier it will be for you. I know the cliche is overused on here but it's true: he is Mussman. Same mentality, likeability, record. He needs at least two wins out in Reno or it's over. That is my somewhat informed opinion. We will see what size cajones Faison has at this time next week.

What is your obsession with defending Jones, have you ever criticized him and his below .500 record over 10 years? --->> You know what's really funny is you stopped posting last year (2014-2015) from November to June. The year UND was a complete dumpster fire you were nowhere to be found. And when you did come back you started bragging about how awesome their recruits were going to be.

Faison has shown he will pay the next guy pretty close to market value for what he is worth. So you can stop worrying about that. I would expect the next coach to be around 150K.
