The timing for Dale was good. The timing for UND was bad.......but it could have been different. What if Mussman had gotten the UMD job instead of Bubba(I believe it came down to the 2 of them). Would Bubba have been a good hire in 2008 if he had been on staff vs. being 22-21 at UMD...obviously Dale may have asked him to go with but he may have been named head coach then. He left UMD the same year but if I remember we didn't open the job up.

I have heard through the grapevine that a certain Athletic Director has had conversations with 1 or more of the names that have popped up here recently in order to gauge possible interest should a certain division 1 basketball program be in need of a Men's Basketball Coach next season.

And after the game, Saul said no more to even playing Moorhead in exhibitions any longer. Last year, Moorhead State put a beat down on UND in a closed door exhibition game and regularly ran NDSU off the floor in pre season joint scrimmages.

I think we have more depth and guys who can get hot from 3 point range than we have had in a couple of years.....Bernstine seems to have a good idea of how to keep his options open and make the good pass back outside when the double comes but if he and our other post players are not able to score on the block then as teams get the scouting report on us we will see a lot of man to man defense where teams don't double the ball on the block against us and dare our bigs to finish when we make the post entry and even some 3-2 zone looks.

I have already said top 4 Big Sky finish or it's time to make a change. I don't care about being young or needing a guy at this spot or that spot. It's Brian's program and has been for 10 years. Part of being a college coach is planning for the future and he has failed miserably in this aspect as it seems every year is back to the drawing board.( will give him credit for riding the Anderson, Huff, Webb class but when you take a shot on 1 class like that it needs to payoff). That said, what I and a few others it seems, don't care for is a couple of twerps who obviously don't know jack s%it about sports and are probably great at their jobs that are working hard to come up with "great" 6th grade level zingers like a couple schoolgirls. By the way, our A.D. is doing his due diligence should the time come to make a move....and it is. I hope things don't come apart to the point we would have to finish the season with an interim coach but barring a pleasant surprise from Coach Jones and this team I think the writing is on the wall for this being his last season at UND.

It's pretty simple actually. When they were comparing UND to WIU they used criteria that they felt favored WIU....nevermind that using that same criteria would put UND ahead of EIU, SHSU, and UNH. Nielson is a pretty good coach. Kind of Ironic that his team is one of the 4 teams that gets in at our expense seeing as how Bubba handed him 2 national titles at UMD.....guess he really owes Bubba a couple favors now.

Drake was only 1 win away from being playoff eligible or was maybe already playoff eligible(hard to keep track).... and had a quality loss to Jacksonville and beat tournament bound and previously unbeaten Dayton.

Of course UND would want another shot at NDSU. Would UND win...not any more likely than USD beating them. UND and NDSU are both different teams than they were in September. No Wentz and leaning on their ground game more for NDSU is something that would play into UND's strength. In September, NDSU beat us through the air as other than 1 35 yard Frazier run UND held NDSU to under 2 yards a carry on the ground and that was with a UND offense that put our defense on the field every 4 plays. I still think our offense would struggle against the Bison defense but not to the point of absolute incompetence like in September. I would see it as a 24-13 game that NDSU never feels like they are in danger of losing but at the same time are unable to put UND away

Better be at least warm. I said it before, don't care what the media and coaches pick us. If we aren't in top 4 regular season and/or semi-finals of conference tournament it is time to make a move. it is part of the job of running a program to coordinate your recruiting so you aren't in panic mode every 2-3 years.

Well sweeps almost never happen either way in St. Cloud but we were a hell of a lot closer to getting swept than we were to getting a sweep. We were pretty fortunate on Friday night as St. Cloud carried the play other than when the CBS line was on the ice.

Maybe the Big Sky needs a stronger rep on the committee.....because if this is the "new" criteria the Big Sky would have had 8 teams under consideration and only got 3 of them in while the MVFC went 5 for 5 and the CAA went 4 for 6.
