  1. Shanks has pretty good footwork but he is a bit of a black hole once he gets the ball......but I don't put that all on him. Our perimeter guys tend to stay in the same spot when the balls goes into him like they know it's not coming back. They need to move so that when their defender turns his head or hedges towards helping out down low that they have to find our guy again. i.e, if you made the entry from the wing, slide to the corner or if it is a high entry both our wings should slide over a spot.
  2. This^^^ And I was worried that after Seales missed that 14 footer and we called timeout. I watched the huddle pretty close on that timeout because when we called that timeout I said to the guys I was with that Seales has to take that shot so I was worried that he was going to get some negative energy his way.......I was very happy that Seales got the next 6 points flashing to that spot and shooting with confidence!
  3. I agree to a point but the NBA has the stupid rule that when a team calls one of their 20 allotted timeouts they get the ball at half court so it makes the 2 for 1 more optimal. I think Jones was maybe trying to set a defense for if we scored, maybe some token pressure or a surprise press to try and get a cheap turnover.
  4. Great game today. Was able to take it in. Still not sold on Jones but there is some talent here. The issue is, we are going to have 3-5 games where we will probably get blown out or just not be in the game due to the nature of travel in this conference and the remaining conference games will all come down to 3-4 possessions which places a premium on decision making and coaching down the stretch of games. Can't afford another loss at home and if we can find 3 or 4 road wins we will be in the mix. Bernstine and Seales are coming along and Geno and Q are going to be a hand full for anyone. Shanks has some potential in the next couple years but really needs to live in the weight room this summer.
  5. Helluva game to watch! 2nd half was entertaining. Once again UND loses a game that they should of had control of with empty possessions, unforced turnovers, missed free throws, and poor rebounding fundamentals....rinse, repeat.
  6. Poof. And just like that any credibility you may have had here is gone.
  7. I have 2 tickets available for this game. $25/each or best offer. I have the tickets in Fargo but will be in Grand Forks this weekend and could meet up. lower bowl, section 105 Message me on this site
  8. How will this shake-up affect UND football on Midco and radio? I have heard a couple rumors but aren't reliable enough to throw out here and was hoping someone had better confidence and could confirm.
  9. This didn't fly......with keeping Tribe as a nickname.
  10. Bison73-"damn these interwebs. It's like you can't even make up sh!t anymore"
  11. It might have occurred to Erich to mix in a fact or two
  12. Glad it's not ours! But seriously, it is just a generic shirt for now with likely an old design and just the name replaced. I wouldn't call it cheap? Just your basic $10-15 T-shirt. Myself, I won't likely buy anything with the new logo or name on it but will continue to buy UND merchandise unless the logo is a 600 foot homerun. If people want to buy the new name and logo that is great, I graduated a Fighting Sioux from UND so that is what I will continue to represent. The people who buy the crap from the "parody" companies are the people who should be beat with a stick. UND needs to quash that crap and do it soon.
  13. I wasn't going for that comparison but I am pretty sure they know those guys and they will know more about Wentz when he is in the NFL.
  14. I was listening to Dan Patrick show yesterday and Dan and the Danettes were just kind of spitballing about the NFL and from there it spun into draft needs and then they started talking about QB's and how Carson Wentz from NDSU and the lower level might end up being the first QB taken in the draft. Then they discussed other QB's from that level who have had success(Romo, Flacco, etc.). One of the Danettes downplayed it a bit and Dan said "well we have all heard of NDSU" and while he was saying this one of the Danettes must have been pulling up Carson's stats for a little more background on him and then announced to the surprise of the entire staff that Wentz was in fact hurt and hadn't played in several weeks.....not one person in that room had any idea.
  15. Well if the F'N Hawks nickname take off maybe we could hire Pepper and Cotton to broadcast our hockey games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qyZ_Rt7jak
  16. I am guessing you can't be looking forward to playing them twice this year then.
  17. Take notes Bison fans. This is an epic troll! Well done!
  18. Jack is a great play by play guy and was great on UND broadcasts......the problem came with Jack's radio show talking Bison this and Bison that for 4 out of 5 hours a week. Certainly not his fault as the show is on in Fargo and he is employed by the Bison broadcast partner......Jack is a pro at his job and was exceptional as our play by play guy but at the end of the day his heart is with NDSU.
  19. Jack moonlighted for UND. He was employed by KFGO and with the uncertainty with Scott Miller's illness he couldn't commit to UND. I thought Jack did the best he could in a tough situation for all.
  20. They already have the capability to broadcast at least 4 channels.
  21. UND hockey used to have all home games televised nationwide. We also had several men's and women's basketball games and volleyball games as well as football that were on the Fox channels. If Midco could get a deal with Directv and Dish that would be a gamechanger but I don't see that happening. For NDSU it would be a tricky question. They have statewide coverage for football now and I believe they sell their own advertising and pay KVLY for the signal. Does Midco bring them more eyes?
  22. Sad news. Scott Dub has passed away. http://bismarcktribune.com/news/obituaries/scott-dub/article_5da71cba-b268-5ac9-86d5-173f64700a0b.html I lived next to Scott my freshmen year in Smith Hall which at the time was known as the basketball dorm. Had Dub on one side and Pete Stewart on the other. He exemplified UND hockey. He was a walk-on who turned into a pretty decent hockey player. He was a high energy, drain the tank every shift guy, a pest and agitator who was pretty nasty to play against and was also capable of scoring as well. He was one of the best penalty killers to play at UND in my opinion. Good guy off the ice, always laughing and looking for a prank to play on someone. Ran into him a few times over the years, usually at softball tournaments. Gone far too soon.
