Kid has every bit of skill, power, speed, effort .... just hasn't put it all together consistently. Not sure if he ever will. We've all seen how dominant he can be in flashes. Doesn't feel like it's lack of effort. Not sure what it is.

What an insane weekend of hockey. At the end of the day, we got outplayed for big chunks, but we were 1:24 short of sweeping the No. 1 team in the country on their home ice. Battle tested, boys and girls. Battle tested.

I don't disagree, but I guess I'm not wholly worried about their full team depth. I think we can roll out guys like Caulfield, Kunz, Strinden, Ness, Portz, Albrecht, etc., and still be confident in their effort and defense.

I am still incredibly confident in this team's ability to play D. We got caught being too loose against QU who is a veteran, and high-paced team. On Friday, we dominated their forward groups from top to bottom for nearly 40 minutes after being down 3-0. I'd expect with the level of play to be similar energy wise and our boys aren't gonna be surprised. I'd expect to see Sendo-Jammer-Hain to be back together checking like demons against their top level skill. I trust those three to contain the top line. Those three need to set the pace of defensive play and the rest of the boys need to follow suit. DeRidder is our guy right now, IMO. He's played the Gophs and knows what's coming.

Saturday, not so much. UND needs to tighten up the D against Minny's dynamic group. Should be a lot of fun. Omg, I forgot about Rand Peckbold. Ugh, dislike that dude. In all honesty, of all the teams we played last year, I thought they were the best. I haven't taken a deep dive, but I know their stud goalie is back. They played a crazy good possession game last year, so I expect something similar. We have plenty of guys who thrive in that possession game. Looking at Hain, Sendo, Jammer. It feels like we have more skill this year and if we can wear the game down and match their grind, I feel like this could be a good weekend. Would love a sweep, but anything more than one win this weekend should be well received. I say we win and tie... Take the 66% in the PWR with an OT winner. I'd be thrilled.

Overall a really great performance last night. I'd prefer DeRidder getting back in there after a shutty, but I'll bet we see Helly. I won't be upset with either. I think we get Kunz in for Ness, maybe Strinden, even though I think Strinden was fine last night. I say Sidorski sits and Albrecht is the extra skater. I'd be fine with lines 1-3 staying the same. This one will be tighter, I think, but UND finishes the sweep before a tough, but fun, five-game stretch. 4-2 UND Hain, Jammer, Schmaltz, Juddy
