I'll say this... That game sure was entertaining lol. When we tied it and nearly took the lead a couple times, that rink was good REA.
-
Don't give them anything in terms of hope. This fanbase is currently in their sulking, "fIrE bUbBz" mode. Just gotta let it pass
-
Just for scientific purposes... what players are you thinking? Would be good to get a list. And after that, let's see how they performed once they went elsewhere. If it's all on Bubbs, you'd expect Chris Wilkie, Adam Tambellini, etc., to take off once they left their UND shackles, right?

Hearing some rumblings that won't suck . Trying to confirm!
-
I think there's aspects of his game that aren't perfect for him, but that isn't stopping any potential development, otherwise the Sens would have yanked him, IMO. I struggle to come up with a reason he'd leave midseason.
-
Why would he leave midseason? To go play in the AHL? Pretty sure the Sens would be ok with him staying here lol. Frankly, he's still a great player, but his showing some warts this season. I definitely think he'll be a tossup at the end of the year, but what's to indicate even a hint of him leaving midseason?

We're playing BSU. It's 100% common during Beave week. C'mon, man. Lighten up!
-
I haven't seen much from BSU this year, but they definitely have some good wins. How's their team speed? Friday against Miami, we showed how dominant this team can be when patient in the d-zone, avoiding forechecking and grinding out possession. I know BSU is always solid defensively, but I don't recall them being overly aggressive on the forecheck, just patient in neutral (which has been a problem for us, too, but not the hugest problem, IMO).

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. I'm doing my best to live in the now LOL.
-
Only for our fanbase. With that said, if they don't, I know the uneasiness will basically spiral another layer and that is bad for the boys. They need a confidence builder.
-
Need a sweep here, boys. Get it together and get back on track. 4-1 UND Gaber x2, Blake, Jammer

The problem is, it's not happening once or twice, it's happening several times a game. We've consistently been able to transition for many, many years and many of the players on this team have been able to do it, as well. It can and will get fixed, I believe. Not sure I agree with your assessment on stretch passes, but we absolutely have a system that supports the D in transition. We've had the same breakout for as long as I can remember. Make a pass up, or short, if it's not there, chip it to neutral. We haven't done it enough, this season. That's my point.
-
This has been the problem all season. Crumbling in transition when we have pressure in our face. Absolutely awful first passes led to loss of possession and turnovers. This is incredibly fixable, but we just have to do it. Was thinking the same thing on Bast. Johnson or Moore could use a day off to try and snap them back into it.
-
In this Quinny, Minny, DU stretch, I thought we'd be 3-3 and was hoping we could sweep Quinny. *sigh* .... turnaround starts tomorrow, baby. Time to go.
-
I'd be very surprised if this team has that attitude at this point.

Both Strathmann and Livanavage make the US Junior select squad https://teamusa.usahockey.com/2022wjacroster

Big sweep coming. I know the boys have been reading here. Gonna be fired up
-
I just don't know who's going to sustain play on this line. James has shown a little bit of the "getter" mentality, but not consistently. Blake, McLaughlin, and Hainer, maybe?
-
19-27-10 is fine, but frankly, we need Hain in a scoring role. I think Juddy should play with Jammer and Sendo. Get Hainer in with Gaber and Schmaltz.

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
stoneySIOUX replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
I'm an eternal optimist for this team, but what I saw on Saturday was disconcerting. It's happened a lot this season, but was SO bad on Saturday... folding to pressure in our defensive zone. I can't even count how many times we missed the first pass or the chip out in transition to get out of the zone. It was horrendous. Turnover after turn over after turnover. Teams are recognizing (ie. Minnesota, ASU, Quinny on Saturday) that we aren't being poised enough to make that first pass with patience or chip it up the boards. It's incredibly fixable. It feels like a lack of trust and continuity to know where each other's outlet is. We saw it for glimpses against DU both nights -- when we are able to get out and get into the offensive zone, we have the puck talent to create. Still have plenty of hope because I do believe in the players in the room. Plenty of contributors who have done well in the past and plenty of new faces who know how to play the game. The pieces are there. Gotta figure it out and do it quick. We need a get right series against Miami. Two big ones coming. -
I mean, the premise could be funny, but he's, again, playing basically a Nazi troupe. It's getting old.

Yikes. That's pretty classless.
