In the 5 potential NCHC games? Three, actually. 1 in the first round, 1 in the semis and 1 in the third place game. But, we'd have 2 wins in that five game span, too.
-
Yeah, this assumed we'd only play 4 more games total, of course. Even if we don't make it to the Frozen Faceoff, I think we'd still be a lock with those numbers. We'd lose two games against teams that are at worst 24 in the PWR right now (CC) and at best, 10 (UMD).
-
Or win the NCHC tournament, but I get what you're saying haha.
-
Right?? I think our attitude around here and our team's inconsistencies have kind of hidden the facts a bit. In all honesty, seeing this now... it will take close to a meltdown for us to not make it.

For this weekend: Sweep -- #10 or 9 likely, 8 or 7 possible Split -- #12 or 13 likely (I'm actually a little surprised this isn't worse. Same with being swept) Swept -- #14 or 15 likely For the regular season: 4 wins -- Lock 3 wins -- Lock 2 wins -- Very likely in, but we'd need to avoid conference tourney upsets 1 win -- Firmly on the bubble and likely needing help Big, big, big, big weekend at Oxford. Get it done, men.

Hahaha this make you a curmudgeon?? The link didn't work! Anyway, I was just asking if he was making a joke or being a curmudgeon and continuing on picking at that team. I think he was making a joke (by pointing out that the Final Five doesn't exist). Still can't figure out if you're upset at me or the other dudes haha.

This is absolutely how YOU feel about this. It's an honor for guys like you and I because we are not elite athletes that are that close to winning a gold. Canada was on the doorstep of being the most dominant team in Olympic winter sports (would have passed the Soviets with 5 straight gold medals) history, but they lost. Not many sports are team sports in the Olympics. So, when you're competing against a clock and the emotion is different. In hockey, you are directly battling someone in front of you and when you lose at that level, it hurts. Individual sport.... your last run, race, sprint, etc., EARNS you the silver. Team sports.... your battle results in a loss to your direct opponent at that time and you are given the silver, because of a loss. Completely different. D@mn right. She didn't throw a tantrum. She just simple removed the medal because it disappointed her.
-
Nope! I'm with ya. The U.S. did this four years ago. Those women worked their tails off for four years to wear a gold medal, not a silver. They were disappointed. I see no reason to be upset about this. In hindsight, when they've stepped back, they can realize the accomplishment. In that instance, after that battle and coming up short, the response seems incredibly reasonable. Ugh, the DailyMail and their dramatics.

*Cough* Big 10 *Cough*

Wait, what's a purse fight? Am I the one judging or are they? Who am I purse fighting with? Am I not holding my tongue or are they not? So many questions!
-
I'll be completely honest, I don't know a lot about this kid other than he's a beast size wise.
-
I vote we officially change it to the Star Spangled Dangle.
-
I'm sorry, but you just don't utter this name on here. You just. Don't. Do it.

Oh, of course. I trust Bubbs to read Hoff and for Hoff to read himself and make the best choice. Maybe sit him for Friday and play him Saturday after some rest? The adrenaline may be a good thing, too. We'll see.

Sounds like a long-awaited "blue-chipper" to me: The first time Oliver heard about Kleven was from his son, Nick, who is an assistant coach with the Sioux Falls Stampede in the United States Hockey League. “Nick was out at the 15s (festival) and said, ‘This guy from Fargo is for sure one of the top six in the nation, have you looked at him?,’” Scott said. “He wasn’t someone who was on our radar (for the Elite League team). But I took a look at him. We brought him to tryouts in Bemidji and he was one of our top players.”

Friday -- Jones Saturday -- Pogo

Scoring in hockey as a whole has changed big time, too. But, this fits your narrative, so I get it lol.

People are saying disrespectful things directly to the recruits? Ugh that's so obnoxious! Definitely not coming off at snapping at me and I wasn't intending to make Huber sound like less of a player by guessing he's non-scholly. We're good!
-
This. I love hearing when a player has character. Seems cheesy at times, but I think effort is a big deal.
-
Lol alright, well yes not ALWAYS the case, but, I'd be very surprised if he's a scholly player. Anyway, the point still stands.... Gerisch isn't being replaced this late in the game. He would have had someone in the pipeline at the 3 and 4 year mark as a potential replacement.
-
Btw, I just reread this an if I'm coming off that I'm trying to insult you, that is absolutely not my intention whatsoever! I hope you aren't feeling that way.
-
A kid coming in at his age and at this late of the game is a non-scholly.
-
We were plus 1 in recruits for next year before Gornall decided to leave early. We already were bringing in an extra forward. Gornall left. We then added another recruit, bringing us back to that plus 1. The addition is to replace Gornall's spot. Adding a player like Huber isn't replacing a guy like Gerisch in the pipeline. He's non-scholly. You replace a Gerisch-like player with a scholly player and his spot is recruited for.

Nice! I'd love to see that. Having Simo as a fourth line center and not a second or third, suits this team better. With that being said, I feel we should be able to sweep Miami regardless. Wouldn't mind letting Hoff rest for Clown, but I guess it should be all hands on deck for this team, at this point.

I never said that whatsoever. I was commenting on your overreaction. "Heads rolling", "unacceptable", bolds and italics....
