Feels like the opposite. They don't relax, they get incredibly tight.

I feel the same way. If we play like we did against St. Cloud, I think we sweep.

NORTH DAKOTA vs. St. Cloud - SATURDAY Gameday
stoneySIOUX replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Big thing I took out of this weekend is that the top 2 lines can generate high-level offense and we haven't had that kind of consistency all season. The rest of the way needs to see Line 1: 19-22-14 and Line 2: 16-8-29. Kawaguchi has been really, really good the past handful of games. With Omaha being at 14, we get two wins (sweep obviously preferred) and get 1 win in St. Paul, that should get us in. 2-2 in the next two weeks should do it. 2-3 puts us on the bubble and needing help. Atlantic is a 1-bid conference as no one left is in the Top 16 and the remaining 4 in the Big 10 are locks, so no stolen bids there. We're now big fans of Northeastern and Providence in HE; Clarkson and Cornell in the ECAC; and Mankato in the WCHA. All of those hold, we just need to be 15, obviously. -

NORTH DAKOTA vs. St. Cloud - SATURDAY Gameday

Hahaha this. Yup. I think we've all heard the cliche of "playing up/down to the competition", but man, this is crazy. -
I'm fine with wrapping this all up, but who are we to say what these kids do with their spare time? And again, implying that the amount of time they spend on social media is affecting their play on the ice doesn't make sense to me. Let's move on as it really is a matter of opinion.
-
Glad to hear it. Doesn't make that janitor any less of a dick.
-
Lol and this makes my point even more evident. That's lunacy.
-
Lol I know you're kidding, but this is the kind of stuff that's been implied, MM!
-
It started with that and ballooned to implications of players needing to get off social media as a commentary of their effort and focus. It's all there. I'm not asking for the team to be babied and those that know me know I don't believe in anything of that sort. I just think attacking this generation of players that uses social media off the ice and implying this is an indicator of how hard they work or their desire to win doesn't make sense.
-
And btw, I don't think saying "player x needs to sit" is bad. That's normal. But, ripping on social media use and implying stopping that use would improve their performance seems stupid. That's what I was referring to.
-
It's a penalty by the book, but I don't like the call. Bast needs to be responsible for his stick, but that's not a penalty even 3 or 4 years ago.
-
They are all over the threads in the past few weeks. Most are implied. Most of it came from that IG post that quoted Oxbow6 and were noting that players should concentrate less on social media as if that would improve their performance.
-
Crap, just reread what you said. Schlossy has a spot on his blog where he notes what years players are expected to come.
-
Yes, these are about the guys who've committed verbally or signed LOIs. Tread lightly
-
They showed the replay and Shane chunked it. It wasn't even close. *sigh*
-
Agreed. For whatever reason, we just can't bury in the biggest spots.
-
It's definitely not a fluke. It's happened too many times to be fluke. And yes, that's definitely the most frustrating part. I guarentee the team feels the same way. I wish I knew why we can't consistently do it, because I'd Instagram them and tell them the solution lol
-
*sigh* agreed. Shane missing an open net with 2 seconds to go, absolutely kills me. He's a guy I want in that spot, too.
-
For me, I'm not offended whatsoever. It's not me getting barbbed at. I'm just trying to figure out what's so therapeutic about it. Venting is fine, but then it takes other forms and it attacks players and the team personally (ie: social media use and personality traits), that stuff is just sad.
-
Again, I hope this kind of nonsense makes you feel better about the season. Does it? I'm asking this legitimately. I just want to know the motivation.
-
Do you honestly believe the team takes moral victories and doesn't want to win? Watch that game tonight, again. Played their asses off, but it wasn't enough. Questioning their want to win and desire is so dumb and tonight's game is all the evidence needed. Again, if you or anyone else wants to trash the players, go for it. I hope it makes you all feel better about this year.
-
What needs to be cleaned up? Boys played their sacks off tonight, but it wasn't enough. If trashing the team and/or individual players makes you, or anyone here for that matter, feel better in any way, shape or form, so be it. I'm good without it as it accomplishes absolutely nothing and makes people look like idiots. No other choice but to go out tomorrow and play with the same effort. Gotta finish, though. Been the story all year. Can we do it? We'll see. And btw, what is Bubbs supposed to say in a post game interview? Maybe he should insult the players. That could make him feel better.

I see what you did there, nerd. Well done.
