Well, he'll be playing with two NHLers if he makes the show. Shane can play. He's got the talent. He was the Caps MVP in development camp, so they obviously value him a lot and don't want to lose him to FA.

My guess on captains: Rhett -- C, Jones -- A (would be 100% ok with Jones getting the C, but I'll defer to the 4 year UND player), Pooly -- A, Janatuinen -- A Shane gets an A if he's back, too.

If you're not referring to Wolanin, this is fine, but he's starting in the NHL.

Ok, so your dream is to play in the NHL and you've had a great career that included winning a national championship. Then, after your best personal year, your draft team offers you a contract, a huge load of cash in a signing bonus and to immediately start in the NHL, which would achieve a lifelong dream. If you stay your senior year to try and test free agency, you could blow out your knee and never make the NHL. Could you honestly pass this up?

Sure some players lacked development, but many players also grew by the boatload. I'll give Bowen a pass due to injury. JJ had a better run towards the end of the year. Hoff and Peski were my two main disappointments, but they are both capable of taking steps forward. Hoff was fantastic in the third place game. Kawaguchi, Regier and Kierstad developed really well. Adams is TBD for me. The talent level is clear. He just need to develop his physicality.

Agreed. I wish Mike would have been able to have a little foresight on this. He'd be a big minutes guy for this team in 18-19, IMO. With that said, he might be chastised on here for being a bottom six player

Yup. Oxbow and I don't always see eye-to-eye, but this wasn't bad at all.
