  1. Agree, a lot of growing pains but hopefully they will figure things out in time so they can make the tournament. Does 8 make it this year because of the extra team or still just 7?
  2. I would have to agree with the top 4 based on what they have coming back. Surprised to see Montana all the way down to 8th and based on how tough Southern Utah was for us last year ( barely home win and road loss) with them starting several freshmen last year I'm surprised they are picked last. This is going to be one tough year and hopefully full of surprises for us. We lost so much but I believe we have a lot of very solid new players that will contribute in a big way.
  3. Injuries, NCAA and eligibility really did hurt us in a big way. Schuler was also one that missed a lot due to injury late his junior year and a lot of his senior year that could have changed things. Not sure if this is normal for most D1 teams but it sure seemed like a lot for UND.
  4. I do not see Stefen starting with guys like De Rouen and Coleman. Also, there may be some issues with Stefen as far as eligibility from some things I have heard. Come first game we will find out if this is true or not so that's all I am saying.
  5. We get a North Dakota kid on our roster and his favorite team is that team down south..MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
  6. It's hard to look at records when there has been a major conference change in the last 2 years compared to the first couple of years of transition when we played in the Great West. Being third in the Big Sky conference our first year and losing on basically a last second shot against Weber in the semi's to losing in the finals against Weber with 3 of our top 6 players injured is definitely a move up. Our non league competition continues to get tougher as well as the league. I compare us from years past to how we do in the conference championships versus the competition level.
  7. I believe we've had some good shooters in the past couple of years , just never used them or got them the ball when they were open. A shooter needs to shoot and that's something we've lacked in the past.
  8. It would be nice to win at least 4 of these games but we are probably favorites in only 2 of them.
  9. With so many offers now out I guess its first to commit gets the scholarship and the rest are out of luck. Hopefully we don't have all from the same position step forward to sign.
  10. Great news. My only question is do we have a scholarship?
  11. A lot of people are blaming Jones for the schedule but is he really the one that decides the schedule? I can't believe any coach would want to play your first 11 D1 games on the road to start any season. I would have to think the AD department makes the decisions due to money restraints and money games.
  12. WOW. The first real home game is not until Jan. 8 which is almost 2 months into the season. New Years day conference game is kind of weird also. Well, as mentioned above on the bright side next year we will have a lot more home games.
  13. Nice. Non conference schedule looking very tough so far again.
  14. I don't know but Tyler, Crandall and DeRouen may be better than Hooker. Time will tell.
  15. Agee he looks to be a very good player if he can stay out of trouble and injury free ( which we seem to have problems with this in recent years). How many point guards will we have on the roster this coming year, and I mean players that should be point guards? Hooker, Antwi, Crandall, De Rouen and Tyler is what I can think of off the top of my head and maybe more.
  16. Don't think Stefen was on scholarship last year and from what I understand was getting one this year, so that would not leave 2 left but only one and if that goes to Nash then we are at zero.
  17. Also has a big body , someone that can take a hit and still finish around the rim. Competition is the video is very poor at best so it will be interesting what he can do at the D1 level. Shot reminds me of Webbs.
  18. States this dunk won it for me. Are you writing about yourself in these posts?
  19. Cant find much at all on him except he is 6'8" and very skinny. Looks like a project.
  20. Could he play the 4 or does he play the 3? Looks good for either position to me.
  21. Generally a player of this size with limited experience is never going to be very good on the offensive end but are generally very good at blocking shots and altering shots on the defensive end which is not a bad thing to have.
  22. Shocked coach keeps putting Walls in with 3 first half fouls.
  23. What about the gash on Braun's arm. Looked as if he needed stiches and someone needs their fingernails clipped.
  24. Honestly the men's basketball game didn't truly underachieve. We were picked 2nd and 3rd in the conference and got the 2 seed. We made it to the championship game and lost to a better Weber State team down 2 of our best 6 players. Injuries continued to be problematic for this team and the biggest blow was no Brekke the entire year and our best bench player missing a lot of games due to injury. Yes, this team was inconsistent with the selfish play of a few but overall we did exactly what was predicted.
