  1. I agree and to add I believe we will be in every Big Sky game this year. I think every game win or lose will be under 10 points and as mentioned many times a free throw could decide the games. Also, Cashman should play at least 10-15 minutes a game as he brings a lot of energy and a rough style of game that we need down low.
  2. I have watched UND basketball for many years and no matter who is in the post the ball is NEVER kicked out. It doesn't matter who is playing post. If it is coached then the players are not listening and then again this falls back on the coaches. Every team we play collapses on the ball when its feed into the post and players are wide open for easy jumpers. This is once again basic fundamental basketball and good team play.
  3. The injury bug always seems to follow UND basketball. I still believe the team of Huff, Anderson, Webb, Schuler, Brekke would have been dancing their senior year had injuries not plaqued Brekke, Schuler, Webb and Nash Too many key players seem to get hurt that derails the full potential of the team. Hope Hooker heals quickly and whatever is going on with Crandall gets fixed as these 2 are the 1-2 punch of this team. With them this team can make the conference tournament and maybe even shock the league, but without season over.
  4. Not going any further on this but I believe he had issues last year also, just not noticed because he red shirted. May be why he red shirted last year also. Two suspensions in the first half of the season indicates its not minor.
  5. 14-14 free throws. I don't believe they have shot a FT.
  6. That same year's win over NDSU in the Ralph was big especially when the fans rushed the floor, it was awesome to see.
  7. That was the ugliest showing of offense by both teams that I believe I have seen in years but its a road win.
  8. First time to watch this team and Crandall is the best player on this team and if he wasn't in foul trouble would have scored 25-30 points. Beirstein was impressive as well and I thought Shanks showed much improvement with some good post moves over last year. Seals is also going to be a very solid player as well. Hooker needs to stop taking horrible driving shots that are not there hoping to get bailed out by the officials. Even the commentator claims he was out of control on some. This team will be a surprise team in the conference this year as they were not intimidated by Wisconsin at all.
  9. Have to agree. I believe the national ranking and Big Sky ranking is off. This team has some talent and enough experience to make it dangerous to anyone in the Big Sky. However, as we have seen in the past you need chemistry as much as talent. We had mega talent several years ago, but little chemistry and team play. This team should do well above poll expectations.
  10. Shanks is also listed as a red-shirt freshman which we know is not true.
  11. Agree 100% about Tyler. He is the one player I hate to see leave cause he does bring the most and can score in punches.
  12. Excellent point. Before the potential loss of Tyler and DeReon and even heard whispers that Coleman may be gone we at least had depth at the guard position and experience where the new guys could be rotated in and slowly gain experience and by mid season possibly overtake the majority of the minutes. We all know that the Big Sky is a guard dominant conference and if these guys are indeed leaving we have no depth and very little experience at the guard position. Until these new guys play and show us what they can do at the D1 level we will be very young and very inexperienced heading into next season. Shanks was suppose to be a savior at the post position in his first year and I was not impressed very much so until I see Crandall and Shields and others play I will no longer believe in the hype. I don't see this as a good thing at all. One injury and then we are in very serious trouble and as we all know this happens to UND every year.
  13. Eastern trailed at halftime but pulled out the win over Idaho late. Harvey had 42 for Eastern and Idaho shot 50% from the field, 55.6% from 3 and 81% from the line and had 21 assists and lose.
  14. Coleman 10 points, 9 rebounds. I really believe he could have done this all year if he was given the chance. The big comeback was without a single senior on the floor in the 2nd half. With the addition of Crandal and the incoming freshmen next year we should be near the top of this league without a doubt.
  15. I really think the tournament should be at the regular seasons champion site as this will yield the most attendance as long as the host team keeps winning. However, looking at this year where the tournament is to begin in less than a week and nobody knows where the tournament will be held as 3 teams are currently tied for first with one game left. This makes it very expensive to the families trying to get air line tickets on such short notice versus buying the tickets weeks or months in advance if it were at a pre-determined site.
  16. You never know how a player is going to adjust from high school to college. Some expectations are met but more often than not they aren't. Only time will tell in every case and hopefully for us these 2 players met their expectations and go injury free.
  17. I agree Antwi is playing very well and I'm sure it won't happen but now is the time to get these other guys minutes and Nash and Antwi are the only seniors playing major minutes. Not sure who else you take minutes from in order for Shields and Coleman to get more playing time.
  18. These last 3 games its time to insert Shields, Coleman into major minutes over Nash and Antwi and get them more experience as this season is officially over. ( Been over for awhile but now official).
  19. With Idaho's win in overtime last night over Montana we are now mathematically out of the tournament.
  20. I'm confused why he was not in more than what he was. I would have had him in for DeReon.
  21. I believe he deserves at least next year as I believe with the transition along with injuries and other elements he gets a pass into next year. I don't always agree with what he does but I probably won't agree 100% with any coach. UND is not ever going to get 4-5 star recruits but I believe he has a very good foundation coming in next year with this years youth and I would hate to lose these players before we get to see what they can do.
  22. You do realize if Jones is fired then every player that is coming into the program next year plus anyone still on the team can exit the program and play for another school without sitting out a year. I would think Jones deserves at least another year with what he has now and what is coming in next year. It truly could be a very good team with loads of talent and athleticism. Fire him now and you could lose most of it and start all over again with years like this year.
  23. Agree 100%. Really getting tired of reading the same thing over and over from this guy.
  24. I would think Antwi would get most of them with Coleman and Shields getting extra as well. A lot will depend also if De Reon can stay out of foul trouble.
  25. Mathmatically yes they need one more win to guarantee a spot but they are already in with 10 wins. I projected earlier that 8 wins would make the tourney and I now think a team that is 7-11 will make it. Last year a 10-10 team was out and this year a possible 7-11 team may be in. What a difference a year makes. We need a minimum of 3 wins in our last 5 and on paper this is one of the 3 we have to win.
