  1. If Southern Utah wins Saturday they will be tied with UND, so who wins the tiebreaker between these 2?
  2. For some reason this game really worries me. They have almost beaten both Weber/ Montana and a host of other teams that they lost by less than 8 points. We only beat them by 4 at home the first time so I hope nobody takes this team lightly because they have not won in conference play this year. As mentioned above we need to come out and give them no hope and get up big early.
  3. Very interesting year. After all the middle of the season turbulence we are seeded right where everyone predicted us to be and I would never had thought that 10-12 games ago. Last night was a team that found a way to win once again when it looked like a 15 point 2nd half lead was not good enough. Huff, Anderson and Nash played great on the offensive end and I thought Calcaterra turned in one of his best games with 6 points and a huge block that led to a fast break for us. I do not want to have to face this team in the first round as they are so dangerous with a great offense they run. Now that we know we have avoided Weber till the finals its time to tighten up the defense and make our March to the dance. Go Sioux
  4. Schuler may be out with his shoulder injury from Saturday night.
  5. Seperated his shoulder again. Both his shoulders are held together by a thread I believe. Just hope he is able to make it thru the end of the season.
  6. What a finish. Huff got into early foul trouble and as poorly as we shot the ball and with Huff on the bench most of the first half we were still only down 1. Huff started the 2nd half on a tear and had like 12 points in 4 minutes and then picked up foul number 3 and 4. The final play reminded me of an almost exact situation several years ago when Mitchell got a put back at the buzzer for the win. What a finish and a much needed win. Very fun and exciting game to watch.
  7. Big game again and hopefully a great turnout for these seniors.
  8. Schuler has made both his threes tonight. Good sign.
  9. I agree Montana first and then Weber if we win, that would be more than a nightmare.
  10. I have no idea why Jones starts Salmonson over Traylor, makes no sense at all when Traylor is by far the much better player. I was also glad to see Jones start Webb at point over Hooker the last game. Webb has been playing so much better than Hooker ever since Hooker started over him. Start who started the last game with the exception of Traylor over Salmonson and bring Schuler, Hooker, Antwi and Stefen off the bench and give either Salmonson or Calcaterra just a few minutes while rotating Nash/Traylor at the 5 while playing Nash at the 4 also. Need this game tonight to start off this home stand.
  11. Agree, his lineups, his substitutions and having players play out of position all the time is getting old. He has a solid 8-9 guys and are set up perfect for a good substation role with each position yet he continues to mix and match and there is no reasoning for his madness. I am convinced the other coaches are afraid to say anything to Jones about what he is doing cause you can see that Jones has turned this team totally upside down, he is definitely not a players coach. These last few games Jones needs to play the players that he knows what they can do and play them in their correct positions and at least try to finish the season strong with your best but I'm sure he won't do this. Player's are losing confidence and it shows and when a player finally makes a shot he pulls them right away, done this the last 2 games with Hooker last game and Schuler this game. Schuler has struggled and finally nets a 3 and within seconds he sits him on the bench for the rest of the 2nd half, all it takes is one game to restore confidence and how can this happen when you make one and then do not get another chance. Things like this have been going on all year with Jones and company. Agree also Webb needs to be starting back at the point cause he has definitely outplayed Hooker since the switch has been made. Webb scored like 17 of his points in the 2nd half at the point last night not the 4. Huff and Anderson did have a rough night but benching them for the first 10 minutes in the 2nd half, what does that move do but upset them and make them want the season to be over sooner.
  12. Sac State is making every thing they throw up and we can't make anything plus 8 turnovers. Their bigs are backing us down all the way to the rim and either dunking it or laying it in from 1 foot.
  13. A lot of turnovers so far and some very poor shots.
  14. Problem is Nash was on the floor in the final 5 minutes and that could have been a huge mistake by Jones and also Webb was on the floor who is almost as bad as Nash shooting free throws and Webb also turned the ball over 2-3 times unforced in those final 5 minutes. My point is Jones substitutions make no sense or lack of lately. Nash and Webb should have been at least out in the final 3-4 minutes with Stefen and Schuler in there cause we had Hooker (pt guard) and Anderson ( really a point guard) In the game and we would have had 4 excellent free throw shooters in and extremely smart players that rarely turn the ball over. It will cost us games down the stretch if Jones continues to sub or not sub like he has lately.
  15. I don't consider Webb a good shooter primarily because of his form and his horrible FT percentage and also Hooker needs work on his form cause his ball rotates sideways. Anderson is a great outside shooter as we have all witnessed. Let me ask you a question, do you think we need 3 points guards in the lineup at the same time with all of them at maybe 6' and shorter. Don't believe the heights listed in the programs.
  16. Did you notice how loud the crowd cheered when they finally brought Nash in for the 2nd half? It was definately a slap towards Jones for leaving him on the bench for almost the first 8 minutes. The assistants should step in cause I think Jones gets wrapped up in something and does not sub correctly anymore and especially when opponents changes their defense or lineups. We don't need 3 point guards in the lineup at the same time especially when they are the ones turning the ball over the most and generally can't shoot from the outside.
  17. The difference for Nash yesterday in the zone was he played the 5 and was not outside at the 4. We got him the ball down low where all he had to do was turn and make a move to score. As mentioned before Nash should play the 5 with Traylor. Also agree above that Jones tried to blow this game with his substitution especially in the 2nd half and why he hasn't subbed much at all in the 2nd half after the 14 minute mark. Those players should not try to go the final 14 minutes with just as much talent on the bench, they need rest. Webb made many mistakes down the stretch and Antwi fouled a guy before the inbounds which led to 2 points and no time ran off the clock, huge mistakes. If any other player turned the ball over as much as Webb did in the end they would have been benched immediately, heck we had 3 point guards in the offense he should have had someone that is smart with the ball like Stefen or Schuler. Jones just plain and simple had the wrong players in the game during key spots in the game and was fortunate to win this one. Granted it was a great win but every attempt from our coaches to lose it happened. I almost guarantee you he will not adjust in the next zone to play Nash at the 5 since he scored 17 points in the first half at the 5 and hardly scored the 2nd half at the 4. He does not see whats going on and make the necessary adjustments.
  18. jones is flat blowing this. He has not subbed since the 12 minute mark.
  19. Nash should be at the 5. He is killing them down low.
  20. Refs are trying to screw us over.
  21. The last unit of huff. Schuler. Nash anderson got us from 4 down to 6 up.
  22. Starting lineup just posted and webb is playing the 4 I assume. A point guard playing the 4. What is jones doing.
  23. MSU made 21 more free throws than us on our home court, they were 28 of 32. And speaking of free throws how horrible is Nash, he air balled one left of the rim. Why has no coach been able to get him to leave both hands on the ball further through his shot instead of this one handed shot that yields the ugliest FT's I have ever seen.
