The game is today February 16th (wednesday). Go Sioux

Would be a shame if people do not come out and support the men in this game. This is the start of 3 huge games for the men. Go Sioux

Its obviously in their heads. They were shooting very well as a team until that Utah Valley game and since then its been not so good. Anderson and Schuler are both over 82% and solid but the rest of the team seems to go as the first few free throws taken go. If whomever makes the first few then the rest seem to follow but if they start out missing they seem to follow the misses with the exception of above.

Very nice win with the bench coming up huge. Starters did not score much with the exception of Huff but Allard, Anderson and Benter played huge. 12 wins and counting. This team could finish above .500 for the year and that would be a great season. Several very tough games coming up. Go Sioux

Top NBA players that are paid millions cant make a damn free throw. I knew once we lost again so many would get on here and tear down this team. Where was all the positive posts when we were winning? Not many and when we lose all the negatives come out. 11 wins so far out of a team that so many thought would not win as many games as last year. Really starting to doubt how many true fans are out there when they say nothing when we win and start bashing when we lose. I guess its human nature. Go Sioux

Agee.... Schuler is the ultimate team player and very unselfish at this point of his career. At times he needs to be alittle more selfish. He is young as most of the team and they are all in the process of figureing things out. Last night was the first major bump they have had in awhile. Lets see how they respond tomorrow. go sioux

That was hard to listen to. 24 turnovers and I think was 5 for 12 from the line. Sounded like NJIT played very physical and got away with it. Announcers were complaining alot about how the game was called. Oh well maybe a lesson was learned. Lets regroup and get the win on Saturday. Go Sioux

All of these games will be a dog fight till the end. The one I've had circled for quite sometime is the Northern Colorado game. Its the first place team in the Big Sky and it will let us know how we stand with the top dog of this year. If we can hang with them or even beat them with 5 freshmen it would prove in 2 years we should be ready to compete for the NCAA spot. Go Sioux

Does anyone know if this game will be webcast? I looked at NJIT's website and cannot find anywhere if they webcast home games like any other D1 school. Looking for help so I can watch the game.

Agree with you on wanting a BIG. Without a really big guy we will not be able to compete with the bigger D1 schools on our schedule. This is where we have had the most troulbe this year and it will continue in the years to come. Brekke has done an outstanding job against guys his size but against the bigs of Wisconsin, Nebraska, Northern Iowa etc we struggle. It would be nice to have a big and at times move Brekke down to the 4 and have him and a big in at the same time. I understand the coaches have to attempt to bring in better and stronger talent each year but 3 true point guards. I know mid size D1 teams are guard dominant and thats obviously the direction we are going also. Cant complain with the freshmen class they brought in this year so we will just have to wait and see how this upcoming class will perform and who they get.
-
Sorry, but do we really need another point guard. I'd say we are set at point for the next 3 years. I would really be concerned on how this team plays if their point guard scores 29 pts/game. Sounds like he must shoot everytime downt he court and I would rather have a point guard like Webb that scores around 9-10 and dishes the ball and involves the entire team. Go Sioux

I agree Gentry will probably play the 3 and Benton will play the 2. With the outstanding play of Huff at the 3 and Schuler at the 2 this will leave Goodman and Gentry also at the 3 and Haugen and Benton at the 2. We have Webb and Anderson at the point but as Im sure everyone has noticed we play Webb, Anderson and Schuler alot together so we have two 1's and a 2. Where does these additions leave Haugen and Goodman or could Gentry and Benton be red-shirted? Alot of quality guards and when you play only 8 or 9 deep, players are going to be left out. Another question that will be interesting to see how it unfolds is how many of the red shirt sophomore class will be returning? Right now only Allard is playing with injuries to Wilmer and Goodman. I was really impressed with Wilmers improvement but I dont think he could have done anything close to what Brekke has done. If Wilmers injury had not occured we may have not seen the full potential of Brekke. It will be a very interesting off season to say the least. But until then we have alot more games to win. Go Sioux

I guess so many fans leave after the womens game is because they are not true Sioux baskeball fans. When there is a double header I always attend the womens game first to show support and watch so many people leave once the game is over. Very disappointing to watch so many people leave. The mens teams is very exciting and fun to watch and so many people do not give them the support they deserve. Great observation by Coyote Fan and sad that it is so noticeable.

Freshmen scored 59 of our 83 points. Thats 71% so our number 1 ranking of freshmen scoring should go up from the 64% that it was entering the game. Yes the future looks bright. Go Sioux

Love it. The young players continue to improve. Huff, Webb, Brekke, Schuler, Anderson just dont get rattled. They do not play like freshmen at all. Yes we missed alot of free throws tonight but they played hard and composed. Huff, Brekke and Schuler and Mitchell all had double figure points again in a very tough environment. I hope our last 3 home games are packed with eager fans to watch this team. If not they are missing something very special. Go Sioux
-
Its a huge game. UND has not won a true road game this year and a victory tonight would solidify the growth of this young team. It will be a tough one against a strong team that rarely loses at home. Go Sioux
-
Yes, we are number 1 in the nation in something. That is saying an awful lot about these freshmen and what they have accomplished so far. You can see a big difference in these 5 players from the beginning of the year until now. They have weathered alot of storms and each one has gotten better in alot of areas. If they continue to improve and get support in the future years this could be a special group of players in UND history. Alot can change between now and when they are seniors but all 5 of these freshmen are on pace to score 1000 points for their career (Brekke has alittle catch up to do from a slow start). Think about it, an entire class in which all of them score 1000 points. Go Sioux
-
Congrats to Brekke for being voted conference player of the week. Thats the third time a sioux has been named player of the week. Keep it going boys. Go Sioux
-
I dont care what Houston Baptist is ranked cause this was a very good win for UND. They played very well, shot good and was led by 3 freshmen again in scoring. Anderson 16 , Schuler and Brekke at 15. This was not the worst D1 team in the country. With a player like Gonzalez they can beat alot of teams. Go Sioux
-
Amen to your quote. All five freshmen scoring double digits in points and I believe all five are averaging double digits thru the first three conference games. I dont think you could possibly ask for more at this stage of their careers. I've been hard on Huff at times thru this year but I thought last night Huff played his best game of the year. Can't remember one time he was out of control going to the basket and he had some really great passes. The flick to Benter was unreal and he made one good decision after another. Hopefully this will continue the remainder of the year. Only 4 more home games for the fans to see this team, wish more people would attend and see the future. Go Sioux
-
I understand what you are saying but sometimes a record can lead you into a false sense of security. UTPA has played alot tougher scedule than most teams in the Great West. They lost to Northwestern University of the big ten by only 6 and alot of their games have been very close. Yes we should have won but again right now we are not a dominate team that can just run away from anyone at the D1 level. Hopefully in a couple years as these freshmen mature and get bigger and stronger we can do this. Right now any win against a D1 team is GOOD. Both teams last night just shot the lights out. I was beginning to think they increased the size of the rim or something. Go Sioux
-
Nice win and what an exciting game to watch. 91 points wow. Alot of players scoring double digits with Schuler leading the way with 19. Go Sioux
-
I would like to see all non D1 games eliminated. It does absolutely nothing for UND and if we happen to lose the flood gates are open to rip the team and the coaches. Non D1 teams are non counter games for potentional bids into the NIT or hopefully at some point into the NCAA tournament, so why play them. The non conference posts above are all great options for the fans and large money for the university. Hopefully they are thinking the same way.
-
I would only hope that NDSU and SDU are on our non-conference schedule every year with home and away games. This would greatly benefit both schools. But not everything that makes sense by us is done.

Im sure attendance will be up from the figures you posted once we enter the Big Sky as long as we do well and win.
