I was hoping the same thing, a rematch with Utah Valley. 18 wins so far and one free throw more in a couple of games and we could have had a 20 win season. Of course a 20 win season is still within grasp. Beat USD tonight and win at least one game in the tournament. Go Sioux

Agree with what you said. Also, this freshmen class must work hard and improve. There is room for improvement in each and everyone of these freshmen players and as for the sophomore class the decision will have to made by them cause I dont believe the coaches will pull the scholarship. Do they want to just be a part of the team for 2 more years with little playing time or do they want to persue another school where they can play. If it were me I would want to play and not ride the bench. I just hope we dont sign another guard without getting a BIG body underneath for the Big Sky. Go Sioux

I believe the red shirt sophomore class has only 5 scholarship players not 6. Goodman, Wilmer, Archer, Haugen and Allard. Allard and Goodman(prior to injury) are the only ones that have contributed this year. Regardless of the situation I believe it would be hard to pull a scholarship from a player that has put in the work and time and has done what has been asked in practice and the classroom. All D1 schools have 13 scholarship players on their rosters but only use a rotation of 7-8 players. You can never tell how a high school player is going to do at the next level and thus miss on several players each year. Go Sioux

Nice comeback in the closing minutes. Down 7 I was really concerned late in the game. This team never quits no matter what the circumstance is. Throw out the records in todays games with Houston Baptist. It will once again come down to the last few minutes. Go Sioux

All stats are sweet. Alot of information. Go Sioux

How many people would have called me crazy if I said before the year the Sioux would finish above .500? Awesome accomplishment with all the youth. Different players have stepped it up all year and had big games to help us win. Now lets go out and win the conference tournament. Go Sioux

To me Houston Baptist regardless of their RPI is a very dangerous team with Gonzalez. What scares me even more is if I read the standings correctly and it ended today we would play Houston Baptist in the first round of the conference tournament. OUCH. Of course there are no easy games in this conference with the parity. Go Sioux

RPI does not make alot of sense. UND92,96 has a great point with a team like Centennary with only 1 win. Houston Baptist has lost alot of close games and have been in every conference game they have played this year. We have lost several close games to teams between 100 and 200 I believe on the road but it doesnt matter how close you are, you drop with a lose. If you are ranked 300 and lose to a team that is 150 by 3-4 points on the road why do you drop further down? Our next opponent is Pan American and their RPI is next to last and they just beat South Dakota last night. Bottom line is we won and in the scheme of things that is all that matters. It just gets blown out in major proportions if we lose to a team with a worse RPI. Go Sioux

Another good win. Amazing win with so many turnovers. Huff went off for 31. WOW With South Dakota loss I think we locked up the 3 seed in the tourney. Go Sioux

Great win last night for the seniors. Was alittle surprised they were not presented with a framed jersey like in the years past. Anybody know the reason they didn't get one? Always thought the framed jersey's were awesome. Schuler dislocated his shoulder a couple of games ago and might be bothering him more than anyone is letting on. Need 2 more wins to close out the regular season and then plow through the conference tournament. Go Sioux

Poor shooting and too many turnovers. Its that simple. Guys need to rebound Monday night in the seniors last home game. Need to send Benter and Clausen out winners.
-
Its time to repay the can of whoop**s they put on us a couple of weeks ago. They were very physcial against us and it obviously got to our young club with 24 turnovers. Last night USD beat them 99-84 so its our turn to send them home 0-2 on this trip to the Dakota's. With a victory we will stay one game ahead of USD for third place in the Great West. It will probably again be a very tight ball game and may be decided on the free throw line. USD went to the line 38 times last night against them. Go Sioux

This is the one game I am really looking forward to. Northern Colorado is in first place in the Big Sky and their top three scorers are all red-shirt seniors. A matchup of our freshmen versus red shirt seniors. Northern Colorado is undefeated at home this year at 9-0 and it sure would be nice to change that tommorrow to 9-1. If we could win, this would be by far the biggest win for UND since the transition but it will be a huge task

I agree Anderson has been very clutch at the end of the games but a very high percentage of his points have been free throws at the end of the games we were ahead and the other team had to foul. Last night I didn't think he made very good decisions with the ball and forced a lot of shots in the first half, plus UVU was not in a fouling situation. As i posted earlier Schuler was basically running point that brought us back from a 10 point deficit to a 5 point lead. Its amazing when we are trying to close out games this year the competition makes every three they throw up. They made 2 clutch 3's in the final minutes and then the go ahead dunk by the Big man. Thats another area we have had problems all year is against a really big man in the middle and last night was no exception. I believe their big man led them in scoring with 16 or so.
-
The great thing about the men this year is they don't give up. Even in losses at some point they appear to be getting blown away and find a way to fight back and almost pull out the win. The experience of these types of games should prove very beneficial in the future. This has been a very productive season thus far but imagine with one or two more free throws made in about 4 games what it could have been. Go Sioux

Did anyone else notice when we made the big comeback the ball was dribbled up the court by Webb and given to Schuler to penetrate and either shoot it or dish it to the open guy. Basically he ran the point as we went from 10 down to 5 ahead. Tough luck by him on the free throws at the end. A lot of pressure and hopefully next time he will make them. We could have easily won both games against this team if not for free throws. 9-16. Go Sioux
-
Im sorry but has Anderson ever penetrated and dished it out to a wide open Mitchell or others. I thought he was a point guard but all he tries to do is shoot anymore. Very frustrating to see all the bad shots and offensive moving screens.

Talk about a must win game. UVA is 8-1 in great west play and we are 5-2. UVU is playing extremly well right now with a convincing win over South Dakota last night. They shot alot of threes against SD last night so we must limit the open looks. Keys for us will be to take good open shots, not circus shots with 2-3 defenders on us and of course MAKE our free-throws. With the play of Allard both on the offensive and defensive end I believe we are playing our best basketball of the season. Proven starting line up with the 4 freshmen and Mitchell with Anderson,Allard ,Benter and Clausen coming off the bench. I really like the rotation we have been using with Webb, Schuler and Anderson rotating in and out of the guard positions and Huff, Mitchell rotating with Clausen and Allard at the 3-4 position and Brekke and Benter at the 5. Next 2 games are HUGE. Go Sioux

The interst is obviously growing. Now thats get the fans to the Ralph. Unfortunately only 2 more home games.

It was a knee jerk response. I get so upset with so much negativity when things are not going right and last night was such a great win in my little mind I over re-acted to what I took as a negative post. I apologize to Dakota Dan and will try to control myself in the future. With so little hope for this team to start the season and we now have 4 freshmen starting with a winning record of 13-11 is incredible. As many have said the future looks bright for the introduction into the Big Sky and I personnaly cant wait. I think the game Monday night at Northern Colorado will give his the best barometer for what needs improved upon. After all they are in first place last time I checked in the Big Sky. Knock them off and we are looking real good. Go Sioux

Free throws are a mystery. They are either really good or really bad. Last night they won the game because they were really good. In the last month they are finding ways to win alot of games instead of finding ways to loose them like earlier in the year. This Tech team was a big physical team with alot of speed we beat last night and hopefully we take this good night of free throw shooting and carry it forward against UVU. We do owe them one. Go Sioux

Coach Jones wife, thats funny. Just because I have supported this team and coach for the last several years i am his wife. If it were up to most of you we would have started over before last year and may not have had any of these freshman. It got out of control when Huff started thinking he was the team again. Glad Jones pulled him again when he tried another circus shot. Go Sioux

They won against a WAC team. Give them credit. Its a win. Sad that this is the only comment you can make. Great great win. Go Sioux
