  1. Had 4 great assists also. Montana got extremely physical in those last few moments and several fouls should have been called when several of our players got mugged and no fouls where called. Have no idea what the refs where looking at. We had way too many turnovers (22) by all our players with Webb leading with 6. Remember this team is basically lead by 5 sophomores and no doubt Montana was bigger at every position and more experienced and with this youth still a lot of mistakes will still be made. They however fight and claw their way thru inexperience and beat a team like Montana. Great win.
  2. Another important game against a Summit League team. Western Illinois gave Michigan who is ranked in the top 20 all they could handle and only lost by 4. So obviously this team can hang with a top 20 team even though they have an RPI of 302. We need to keep our turnovers down in this game and hopefully sink a few more three's than we have lately.
  3. Got to be kidding me. Ugly game, we were up 11 in the first half to a team that was in the NCAA 2 years ago with some of the same players who are seniors now. Great win and very exciting game. Everyone enjoy this big win and HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all supporters. Go Sioux
  4. Hopefully a large crowd will turn out for this contest. Should be a very interesting game and provide us with some idea's of what we must improve on for the upcoming years in the Big Sky. I predict a minor upset. Sioux 68 Montana 65.
  5. Excellent post. This year should be about improving in the areas that need improvement and continue to build for next year. Next year is truly what counts and this will more than likely be our team for the next several years heading into the Big Sky. These players have a way of fighting to the end no matter the circumstance, I really like that.
  6. Tough road loss. Shots were definately not falling for us but these players will be fine. Good experience as it sounded like a big crowd for the first road game. Several players need to find their shooting touches and we will be fine, its still early.
  7. Excellent Post. TEAM is what wins. Watched ESPN the other night when Duke played and Jason Williams( great Duke player) was asked what coach K preached day after day. His comment was " when you hold out your hand you see 5 individual fingers and if they work as individuals you will lose. However , if you close you hand into a fist and they work as one you will win and thats what he preached everyday that you have to hold those 5 fingers together in a fist and work as one and deliver the knock out punch each game." Great words of wisdon from arguably the best NCAA coach ever. Lets all clinch our fists and this team will definately be a force as one in the years to come and bring UND to the NCAA tournament in the years to come. Go Sioux
  8. Anderson takes bad shots comparded to who? Anderson last year took alot of bad shots but I can't recall a forced shot he has taken in either game this year. Maybe you are saying this because he is the best player on this team right now and scoring more than your boy. Every person you listed is playing their role to the T right now and Webb is getting the ball to who needs the ball and is open. You got me going now calling us all idiots. Go Sioux
  9. You sound like Huff's mother. Every post you have made except one you have declared Huff god. I have always stated Huff is a temendous talent and UND needs him. However if he is going to continue to take bad shots and tweet he is leaving and pout when he does not get the ball we have alot of other players that can fill the role and play as a team. When they play as a team they will win not as individuals. this is up to the coaches to make him understand the importance of a good shot and a horrible shot. You cannot say being the basketball expert you are that the last 4 minutes of the game Huff made terrible decisions with the ball. Everybody else was under control and realized the situation. You are the idiot if you think otherwise not us. Go Sioux
  10. Agree 100% Huff needs to mature and the coaches need to handle this situation immediately. He is too valuable to make tweets to that effect. His talent is off the charts but he showed alot of immaturaty late in the game when he made alot of bad decisions when he was trying to get his points. When hes not getting his points or shots he gets mad and that is no help to the team. We have 6 players on this team that can lead us in points on any given night and that is what it takes to be successful. Hopefully he will be fine cause this teams needs that unity. Go Sioux
  11. I also thought Archer, Mathison and Allard did a great job in the paint. All 3 gave alot of minutes with Brekke and Mitchell in foul trouble. They collectively used alot of fouls to push and hack the big man. Samething will be needed this Saturday against Bradley cause I guess they also have a 7'. What has happened to Wilmer? He was one of my keys to start the year but so far nothing and he has missed 2 out of the last 3 contests.
  12. Not sure you will see much of this. They are all technically point guards in my opinion. Anti looked like he was in the wrong place several times during plays but he is probably still learning the system. When Huff was in foul trouble we had Webb, Anderson and Schuler playing alot of minutes together and that combination worked extremely well. It had balance and great control of the ball and excellent shots where taken.
  13. Huff is very good and a very important part of this team. With that being said he was out of control when we had a double digit lead with 4 minutes to go. He was going 1 on 4 and making horrible decisions. He must understand the team concept and time and possession. The coaches have the bench to hopefully make him understand this. He still takes horrible shots when things are not going his way. The over all play this weekend was extremely good for the first 2 games. Was impressed by the consistancy of the guards and the lack of turnovers from Webb, Anderson and Schuler. Road test against Bradley will be interesting this weekend.
  14. Dont know where there is one. We've been over this scholarship numbers before and the one they have for next year is going to Shane Benton.
  15. Why is it that most division 1 schools are playing 2 exhibition games and UND is just playing 1 and the one we did play will cost us a game next year? Doesn't make any sense.
  16. The way I see it we are Number 1 for all Great West teams. Dont know how many teams there are for mid majors but at least we are mentioned with a very very young team still. Go Sioux
  17. I think Wilmer is the key. If he can play solid minutes every game with his size it will be a major plus. Lenny is from Vanier College. Is that actually a college in Canada? If you google Vanier College it appears to be a university but he is listed as a freshman so I am confused. We definately have plenty of depth at the guard positions as Lenny is also listed as a combo guard along with Webb, Anderson and Schuler. I assume Gentry will be a 3 along with Huff and Goodman. Mitchell and Allard will have us solid at the 4. Alot of good competition for playing time this year. Hopefully everyone will stay healthy this year cause that is always a key. Go Sioux
  18. Hopefully there is a big crowd to support this cause. I looked at Minot's roster and they have some great size and several new foreign players that played on their national teams and they did very well. Go Sioux
  19. Players can play in exhibition games and then be red-shirted. But, once they enter a real game then the red shirt is over. From what I have heard Gentry and Benton are red shirting. Go Sioux
  20. Last year we were 19-15 and the Great West tournament champions starting 4 freshmen. However, to win 19 games again they will have to really up their game I believe. This years schedule looks alot tougher to me than last years. The Big Sky is a big boost to our program and it gives us a chance to play in the dance in March. Looking forward to the Big Sky and dancing with this young group. Go Sioux and bring on the Big Sky.
  21. Number one freshman scoring class in the nation as compared to total team points. That is huge for years to come. Hopefully the chemistry will not change much with this class and they continue to fine tune thier skills for this year and the next two.
  22. Yes UND will probably always be guard dominant like most mid to low majors but as of right now we have only Brekke that has proven he can play the post and we enter into the Big Sky next year. They will dominate us down low if we dont find a good back up for Brekke and some other size at the 4 spot. Sure we could probably get by in the Great West as is but not the Big Sky if we want to compete. Problem with this Arvidson kid is we have already offered at least one player a scholarship for next year that we do not currently have. Go Sioux
  23. I sure hope we dont offer another guard. Everyone knows we need size underneath.
  24. Current scholarship players for this year: SR: Mitchell JR: Goodman,Haugen,Allard,Archer,Wilmer SO: Brekke, Schuler, Anderson, Huff, Webb FR: Antwi,Gentry Thats a total of 13 and the only scholarship we are losing for the following year is Mitchell and as mentioned earlier Jones said Benton was getting a scholarship his sophomore year.
  25. Basketball D1 is a full scholarship or nothing. There are no partial scholarships for D1 basketball. So, obviously Jones is not offering a full ride for one of the 5th year seniors to be next year. Wonder if Jones has already discussed this with one or more of these players. They can do the matH just as we can and know that no scholarships are available for next year. Time will tell. Go Sioux
